  • the keyboards rocking more than you are.

  • You are a loser..NO ONE CAN PLAY LIKE MANZAREK!

  • fingering man

  • no one can play like ray no one ever lol

  • starts as a tutorial, turns into a show

  • I don't know why I watched this video, but when you played the Light My Fire solo, that was sick as fuck

  • how play like a manzarek - how play like a god!

  • Brilliany lesson and modest too. I learned from Manzarek and Greenfield from the Stranglers. The massive Manzarek/ Jon Lord impact takes two notes which in turn, they took from Jimmy Smith.

  • this guy literally is so bomb. i dont even know

  • Hey man, Riders is in E Dorian Mode, which has the same notes as D, but starts on E.

  • Dorian mode

  • Very helpful!!

  • Gosh hands look scarey when you don't use proper fingering. But your definitly beast.

  • You're an amazing keyboard player but your theory is very flawed. The solo for Riders on the Storm is of course in E minor, just using a C# accidental, as the chords called for it.

This information doesn't really help for playing along to Doors songs, rather it helps for playing along to songs that are in a minor key that contain a natural 6th.

You rip up that keyboard tho man

  • Thanks , you're absolutely right, i was just trying to show people who have little theory knowledge where the notes basically are more or less

  • @oysterlovers

Just incredible!!!! I really like your approach and style...you just understand pragmatically how to play!!

  • @decko87 i might cause a bit of an uproar by saying this, but the way i see it, the main verse/chorus section is in E dorian, which is essentially D major. The the first "half" of the keyboard solo is played in E dorian, then he jumps into an E blues at one part, then back into E dorian towards the end.. i can play the entire solo verbatim to how Ray did it, so I know the notes are right, just my perspective may be wrong...

  • Thank You So Very Much ! I get to use this info a lot.

  • Thanks a lot sir!

  • Very useful info, great.

    Thanks for the post.

  • he actually used dorian scales... for riders it's e-dorian. (same notes as D)

    it's a door-ian mode :p
