That's what I like about the Japanese promos. They prove that you don't need macho bullshit to sell a fight. You want to prove that MMA isn't barbaric? Do you have friends who think MMA is nothing more than two drunk white guys hitting each other? Show them some of these DREAM promos. There is so much heart and emotion in these videos. It makes it feel more like a martial arts competition. You don't need to fake hatred to sell a fight. That's what UFC does.
i like how the music choice and the overall atmosphere of the video shows the beauty in fighting and martial arts. nowadays all these highlight videos and ufc vids have these intense hardcore rock music to back their vids. its a nice break to have something more soothing. martial 'ART'
ufc promos focus on records and fight footage and fighter analysis. whereas dream promos focus on goofy things, like bongos in this case. and usually the music in the dream promos doesnt exactly create excitement.
dana and rogan do analyze and talk about records during the promos but i will say that the metal music is repetitive and seems to be from about 13 years ago. the music should be more contemporary and they shouldnt use the same songs for more than one promo. but the repetitive old ass metal music is still better than the goofy effeminate japanese music
yes ufc is bigger because they are better in every way including the marketing of the fights with good promos. if dream produced a product people didnt think was goofy they would eventually be as big as the ufc.
like i said i am not a fan of the ufc's use of the same metal music they have been using for years now, but it is still better than goofy effeminate music used by dream.
@signboyy UFC's promos are aimed more towards those typically redneck drunk fucktards who are clueless shits on MMA and want to see fighters get KTFO. With the metal music, it creates a more aggressive type of excitement and pumps you up, but that's all what UFC promos do. Promos in PRIDE/DREAM are more diverse and they not only create excitement but they create and bring out a lot more emotions like a short film. Seeing how you call Japanese music goofy, you don't understand the beauty of this.
the music may be aimed at dumb rednecks but the rest of the promos can be appreciated by the more intelligent fans.
there is that element of lowbrow fan who are ignorant of bjj who were the majority of the ufc fanbase 5 years ago, but the majority of ufc fans are now intelligent middle class people.
i would rather be pumped up by aggressive music during a promo than doze off from the wierd effeminate japanese music.
I LOOOOOVE IT!! These are real japanese MEN!! Not those faggies with cute hairstail =))

Okay, just compare the size of the organization.
UFC vs DREAM. You know how different they are ?
In spite of the size, DREAM is way better in making videos.
People always ask around what songs were used in DREAM promos.
You will see that their selection of songs are worldwide.
Not like America.
I always think why WWE and UFC uses stupid metal type of crap.

dream promos do not create excitement.
i will agree with you that the dream promos are very emo though. especially with weepy aoki. he weeps when he wins and when he loses. no self control.
it doesnt suprise me that a goofy guy considers goofy promos beautiful.
ufc promos are exciting but also have an intellectual aspect.
whereas dream promos are dull and dont seem to have much analysis.
