  • What is the first piece of music?

  • Finally! A video of Plushenko in good quality!

  • tu est le roi du patinage artistique le grand king

    meuilleur que lysacek

  • he is back

  • Plushenko the best

  • Sublime grace!

  • Listen. Let's just give him the Olympic gold right now. I mean, there's no one - NO ONE - who can touch him technically. I'd say Joubert from France can "maybe" get a silver if he lands his jumps. Bronze is up for grabs. But, the Olympic gold is spoken for. Anyone who can do THIS after years off the ice is a real athlete. I'm thrilled for him. He really wants it. You can tell.

  • Nobunari Oda from Japan has all ready beaten both of Plushenko's short and long program scores from this competition, and with out a quad. I believe the race for the olympic gold will be tight unless Plushenko starts doing clean shorts and 2 quads in the long again.

  • I agree that Oda has done well without a quad. So, did the Buttle. But, I think once Plushenko gets back in the swing of things, he will be unbeatable technically. I personally like Weir's smoothness, but quads are tough. Really, really tough. And they should be rewarded when they're done as well as Plushenko does them.

  • Patrick Chan will make you eat those words.

  • I just looked up some You Tube videos of Patrick. Thanks for the tip! He's wonderful! I haven't been able to see terrific skaters like Patrick as much as I would like due to the poor tv coverage. Thus, Year's back, when Plushenko was competing, coverage was much better. I enjoyed Evgeni then & I'm simply thrilled to see him back now. It was a treat to see him doing so well after so long off the ice. I have great memories of some of his former programs.

  • Patrick Chan lololol. Chan has been at the top for a season or two.

Plushenko has been around for over a decade, and there hasn't been anyone matching or exceeding their pre-retirement form except perhaps G&G. He is a maestro.

  • Pssshhh Plushenko can't even do level 1 footwork. He does ONLY crossovers to go from jump to jump. It's not called "ice jumping" it's figure skating. Under the new scoring rules and facing off against a Canadian in Canada, he's gonna get tore up.

  • @fiercefunky Shame on you!

  • @lavergne100 Sublime grace!!

  • Just thrilled to see him back. this is what male figure skating is supposed to be about...very masculine style, and I love how he's skating thru his fingertips now =)

  • Much better program than I'm used to seeing from him, his jumps are as gorgeous as ever but he looks a lot less spastic with this contemporary/classical type music.

  • gooooood!!!!!

  • Wow!

I didn't expect SO good comeback! Yeah, he is the best -)

There is not the ring on his hand! )))

  • Ha ha, yeah, he and his wife divorced a while ago. I think they were only married about a year.

  • Ha ha, he and his wife divorced a while ago. I think they were only married for a year or so, but I heard he got re-married last month.

  • He divorced (in fact, moved out) 2 or 3 years ago. A month ago he married Yana (Dima Bilan's producer). I don't like her, that's why I highlighted the fact, that he doesn't wear the ring.)))

  • i LOVE THIS!!!

  • I never thought his comeback would be so good. It's not boring. I always liked his more classical programs. Perhaps for those who find classical music boring, this sp seems also boring...

  • I totally agree - his Michael Jackson type showmanship before was the epitome of lame and he was always way overmarked for it, very Joubert like. This is a contemporary take on a classical piece and it really works for him.

  • This is the very Figure skating!! I

  • I forgot to add - this is his comeback... give him time until Olympics - when he polishes his sp and lp, no one will be able to get near him - not by score merit, by his art, nor technical elements.

  • He's my inspiration...

And also, he's one of the few skaters who interpret every second of the music... which is rare... so don't be unfair.

  • apart from the technical kits,,,its such a boring program

  • I guess he need only 3 jumps for FS and he still won!! What i have to say its CUP OF RUSSIA ;)

  • Thank god he is back because the technicalk ability is lacking in other men.

  • I guess it's between Plushenko and Lysacek to win Olympics.

  • He could have gotten higher score, if he hadn't doubled the lutz.

In short program, doing the triple jump itself counts a lot. If you cannot make a solo triple jump, you get a mandatory deduction from GOE.

Since the protocol is not up on ISU yet, I'm not that sure, but I think that should have gotten his points that low.

  • first he isgreat needs slight work to move to perfection just his return is a bless for fig skatinglovers i wisj yagudin could make his comeback also does eurosport broadcasts this cause teb i saw onyou tube also when is lp tomorrow what time and finally brian was he supposed to be in vut pulled out due to 4th place in teb to improve himself and protect as well?

  • I am so happy to see his skating again. I love his jumps so much. This olympic will be fun to watch him and Yuna Kim ;) Go Plushenko. You are th best !!!

  • despite people complaining his artistry isn't good, i still can't take my eyes off him...whereas most other skaters i get bored of after a minute or so (with the exception of Ilia Kulik, now HE'S amazing...oh and Yagudin)

  • 82!?!?!

    WHAT?!

two gorgeous jumping passes, yes, but what else?! i am "pffffing" as i type.

  • I think he popped the lutz into a double, but he did do a quad toe-triple toe combination.

  • stop pointing out the bad thingsnand just focus on the fact that he came back and skated clean

  • well.... in the new system popping isnt clean, but he landed his hardest elements and he probably lost focus. He didnt show the pop on his face, he kept calm which kept the program at an elite level

  • I agree!

  • he's in first good enough for me...i don't see a reason to complain

  • cmon.... give some credit to him...after being out of the competitions for more than 3 seasons...this is just great.

  • Great performance!! I'm so glad about his come back!! ^^ Thanks for upload!

  • Beautiful Quad!!
