  • i have a jackson rrxmg with the same gold hardware haha (: sickkk

  • hey, is that a floyd rose original bridge that you have put onto it? are the dimensions the some for the licensed jackson one and the original? also i live what you have done to it! did you get that paint job done through your own sources because it looks epic! good job :)

  • @Skyuss666 black metal doesn't suck trash is simply better

  • What is the track, soundtrack?

  • @Tie4821 Obso(u)lescence by In Arkadia

  • PLESE REPLY TO THIS!!! I NEAD your help! can you tell me were you got those gold parts for your guitar? i cant find the them ANYWERE on the internet, or any ware ells! thnk u!

  • @evhguitarstv43608 I've already answered this question before but here you go :

I ordered the OFR, the knobs, the Schaller strap locks, the jackplate an the pickup height adjusment screws at Warmoth. $241.10, shipping included (to Belgium).

I ordered the Gotoh GT376R tuners at Guitar Parts Depot. $70.60, shipping included (to Belgium).

It wasn't that much expensive considering that an OFR already costs 90% of what I paid if I bought it in Europe!

  • excellent job, I intend to do something similar on my RR3 as well... an awesome guitar, except for the crappy licensed Floyd :/

  • put a gold pickgaurd on that and i wil buy it. lol

  • how did you put on the pinstripes???

  • Fucking great dude.

  • @Skyuss666 this isn't even close to blackmetal, you retard.

  • whats actually better the RR3 or the RR5?

  • @goldenguy12345 RR1 :D

  • @goldenguy12345 basically the only difference is that the rr5 isnt bolt on and it has a better look

  • @guitarramaniacx neck through gives more sustain so its not just appearance

  • @mc2alfawolf neckthrough doesn't give more sustain, That's a common misconseption, Good bolt-ons can have just has much if not more sustain. See: Joe Satch, Vai, John P. etc.

  • @Skyuss666 thrash till death

  • Also what nut size did u use? Or did u even replace it?

  • @Iamnotfrank It's an R3 narrow nut.

  • @GuitariSteve And were the mounting studs the right size, or did u have to file the holes bigger?

  • @Iamnotfrank Just a little bit wider than the original ones. I inserted them with a... hammer (haha yes) but I first made sure to cover the mounting studs (and the guitar itself) with a cloth that I folded a few times. Hit gently and slowly, it's not a big deal =)

  • @Skyuss666 black metal sucks if played by a sucking black metal ;)

  • where did you find the floyd rose?

  • Does the OFR work well?

  • @Iamnotfrank Yes no problem with it.

  • is that an actual song it sound like shit

  • badass guitar

  • @JJrox11 Er...NO!

  • do gold bridge keep the guitar in tune better or is it just for show

  • @nightwolf14 It does as it is an Original Floyd Rose.

  • is that an original floyd rose in that rr3?

and did you need to adjust your guitar so OFR would fit?

Because I have a rr3 too and I'm not sure if you can put the original in it without adjusting the guitar...

    thnx!

  • The OFR as big as the licensed one so it fits perfectly. Click on the first link in the description and see a step by step guide about how I customized my Jackson.

  • @00NeVaN00 Huh it's been 6 months... I only had to file down some wood at the nut because the locking nut of the OFR is a bit higher.

  • @GuitariSteve affirmativ i did the same when changed my rr3 to ofr and gold hardware ftw! P

  • @GuitariSteve Isn't the cavity for the trem to small to fit an OFR in because of the longer string locks?

  • @Langtw Nope ! It fits perfectly !

  • Can I ask you for a favor?

I would realy need the measurements of the body... for every side of the body (the two on the longest horn, and the two on the small horn)... and the lenght of the neck from the neck joint to the tip of the guitar head.

    THANKS A BUNCH!

  • i50.tinypic (dot) com (slash) 2wghkt5 (dot) jpg

  • that is a guitar made for a god xD

  • Haha ! =)

  • money??? how many?

    amazing guitar dude

and... the what is the name of this song?

  • Thanks!

The gold hardware was +/- $300.

And the song is "Obso(u)lescence" by IN ARKADIA. Check them out on myspace!

  • Wow that black with gold looks so awesome, i want to buy the same guitar or the rr5 but they are so hard to find for lefthanded. Do you or anyone else have a clue if they even make then lefthanded and if so were to find?

  • then guess ill screw em a bit to fit in the actives!!....shuda gone for a black rr3...darn cant mod my eds rr3 that much!!.........

  • thanx for the info man!!.......hey any clue is it ok to install active pickups on the rr3 as they came with passive;'s n lack the battery cavity?!!.

  • There is plenty of room for a battery in the control cavity!

  • hey! i have an RR3, but there is no control cavity.. only for the floyd rose, but other than that, there's no cavity... i was also thinking about some emg's, but i don't no where i can put the battery box... anyone suggestions??!

  • in the pickguard where u have the controls

  • yup guess ill do em?.hey been thinkin bout pick ip changes?.any suggestion?.rite now ive short listed SD dimebucker in bridge n leave the neck pickup just the way it came along!!........

  • I don't know much about pickups because the only ones I've tried are the SD of the RR3, EMG 81/60 and SD Livewires (active). I like them all, they're all great for metal.

  • i guess so but the thing is tough to get even a decent licensed floyd rose here in india.probably a chrome coloured one will be available but for the gold one i guess i gotta go online shoppin!!......

  • I think online stores have quite fair prices. I ordered all my hardware in the USA and as I said : "It wasn't that much expensive considering that an OFR already costs 90% of what I paid (for all the hardware) if I bought it in Europe!" I don't know about India though but if you can get your hardware shipped to India, do it!

  • thanx for the link man....guess ill have a tough time customisin my rr3 here in india!!.but what do you think?.any pin stripe mod to my eerie dess swirl?.will they fit in?.

  • I don't think pinstripes would fit on that finish. I saw an RR1 EDS with gold hardware a year ago and I remember it was gorgeous!

  • any clue how this mod can look on my eerie dess swirl rr3?.

  • i27(dot)tinypic(dot)com(slash)fxt3xy(dot)png

You can make your own at tinyurl(dot)com(slash)mebv63

  • It looks awesome but what does it sound like? I would like to hear it speak please.

  • woaoaaah shiat that fucking nice guitar. but the bad things is that i doesn't has 24 fret =C

  • i agree..i don't like 22 fret guitars but tihs is an exeption

  • awesome...

do u think i can make sharkinlays with tape as well.. lol

  • Hmm I guess it was just 1 song I didn't love. This one is also by you and I love this one :P Kinda short though..

  • Well, it's cool if you like the band... and it doesn't matter if you don't! We all have different tastes. Check the myspace in the video description to hear more.

  • I like the band? I LIKE the band? It's AWESOME!

Too bad.. It almost makes me cry.. I was in a band (far away from the point where you're at) and we had to split up because the drummer and singer didn't have more spare time. It literally broke my heart since music (and especially making it) is one of my biggest passions. I can't hear some songs simply because I played them in that band.

Be sure that you guys stay together.. ;) I wish you better then I had back then..

  • Looks likes an Alexi-600

  • No, the alexi-600 looks like the RR3.

  • HAHA good call!

  • omg,i want this shit!

  • I might buy an RX10D. Would these mods work out as good as on RR3?

Is this an original floyd? If i buy the rx10d im considering swapping the trem for a gold one and put in blackouts. Only diferrence between rx10d and rr3 is pickups, wood, controls and input-place if im correct.

Does the floyd function like it should, since it's routed for an jt580lp? Did you need to route anything?

    Thanks in advance (again) mate!!

  • Hi Robin,

These mods will definetely work on your RX10D. My RR3 also had a JT580-LP and it's the same size as the OFR. I know the OFR seems bigger because of its locking screws but it's not.

These mods are really easy, trust me. It's just about (un)screwing. I remember I had little issues with the Floyd at first but check my video description, I've just added a link to my thread on the JCF.

  • I see your from belgium. The part where they talk dutch, or french? :P

I'm 100% sure I will do the exact same mods if I buy the RX10D. It's just that first the guitar, then save up for one of the upgrades, then save up for other upgrade.

I was thinking of a gold ofr with also gotoh tuners. Also, the pickups will be swapped for blackouts.

    Question: which first?

  • I've understood what you said in Dutch but I'd rather speak in English : it's easier for me and this way everybody will understand what I say.

It's been a year that I've done these mods and nothing happened to my "filed down nut". The action is kinda medium but I didn't really care because I'm not that much into shred. I guess it's possible to lower it even more but I'd ask a luthier.

As the pickups are two "Duncan Designed", I'd first go for the blackouts, then the OFR and finally the tuners.

  • I might aswell buy the RR3.

The RR3 has pickups that I can actually re-sell probably, and I can get it from England for 450 euros (while the RX10D is 480 here). I don't like the many knobs and the pickguard, but at the same time, it adds a certain something. Plus, the jack is where I'd like it to be!

What should I do? Just buy the RR3? I do like the controls and no pickguard from the RX10D a little bit more, but the RR3 has better functionality.. Hmm, what to do lol..

  • It's strange that the RX10D is more expensive than the RR3. I'd say to go for the RR3 for the quality, the pickups and the jack position. It must be very awkward to play sitting down on a chair with the RX10D. The SDs are great pickups and if you mind the 3 knobs, just change one to gold and let the others black, it will look as if your guitar just had one knob.

  • Also, read my reply to one of the comments on my video. I told where I bought my hardware and it ended up to be no that expensive if you buy it in the USA instead of Europe.

  • Can't find the thing how to make the pins.. links come out on some pics, and other link to some topic about p-90's.

  • Well, there's not much to explain actually. I found white tape. The tape was pretty wide so I had to cut thin stripes in it with a sharp cutter and a ruler. To do so, I stuck the tape on something in which I could cut. Then just remove the stripe and stick it on your guitar. You can cut the excess afterwards if the stripes are too long.

  • How did you manage to round them so nice (cuz 2 parts are straight but where the stripes come together its not really straight if you know what I mean)

  • I've added some instructions with pictures in the video description. Hope it will help!

  • Cool! Now I might consider buying an RR3! But i like the rr24 too and that ones neck-through and 24 frets...

  • how do u get all the gold hardware

  • I've answered the same question a couple of months ago. RR3s don't come with gold but black hardware so I had to buy it (at Warmoth and Guitarpartsdepot).

  • That's awesome, Looks amazing.

  • It looks so sick! I got the black RR3 too, such a nice guitar. Might get a gold floyd too...the combination of black and gold looks so sexy on this guitar ^^

  • looks like the "Stone RR"

  • fucking amazing dude! is the floyd smaller than the original pro? i was thinking of upgrading mine

  • The Original Floyd Rose (the one I have now) fits perfectly the RR3!

  • really!? sweet! how much did you buy yours from and where? i was thinking of getting a silver one

  • I ordered the OFR, the knobs, the Schaller strap locks, the jackplate an the pickup height adjusment screws at Warmoth.

  • i hate the licensed floyd

goes out of tune soooo easily

  • check out my video rr3 w. pinstripes this is cool :)

  • nice

  • Sexiest RR3 ever !

  • Nice ! How did you do the pinstripes?

  • Sorry for the delay.

The pinstripes are made of white tape.

  • Thx, nice guitar

  • what kind of white tape? a specific type of tape??

  • I've just added two links in the description. ;)

  • dude ill just give u my rr and u do it for me haha thanks for the links
