  • Regan was just and old Right wing bastard that promoted genocide and Dictators in Latin America

  • The New Deal -- especially: Social Security, Unemployment Insurance, 8 hour work week, the weekend, Child Labor Laws, Maternity leave, Unionization, CCC, WPA, Public Work jobs et al. HELPED the American working class from the 30s to the 70s grow and many are still vital components to our everyday lives. FDR's push to go to war (WW2) embolden private enterprise, private individuals, women and minorities to work alongside to protect and ameliorate America from the Axis Powers' onslaught.

  • @Djmemez and thats why he is one of the best if not the best

  • Franklin Delano Roosevelt was great due to his personality and charm. He gave Americans hope and progress. Something Hoover didn't offer. The American people fell in love with his wit and character, just like with Ronald Wilson Reagan. FDR was an aristocrat, elitist, believed in free enterprise, charities, private and what not...BUT changed his stance 'cause he saw Hoover's do nothing from 1929-1932 worsen the economy, Elenanor Roosevelt made him Progressive; his distant uncle Teddy Roosevelt.

  • FDR was a Progressive Socialist. He is the one who put us on the path of self destruction. He handled the Great Depression about as well as Obama is handling this recession. Not Well! There was an equally devastating crash in 1920, but we don't hear about it because of FDR. FDR put big government in place with work programs that used taxpayer money to go plant trees. Sounds like an Obama idea. Why do you suppose as soon as he left, that the Congress said 2 terms maximum?

  • terrible choice of music for this video, imo ... I like message of the video though ...

  • Reagan wins

  • @xXKayn3Xx If you mean we live in a world he liked. Then i guess you are right.

We live in a world where the rich take everything from the working and the poor. Just like he wanted.

Not that i blame him for it.

It is society who is accepting the current destructive system, and it is the society who has to change it.

  • the time and resources wasted in Vietnam.

  • First, enough of Reagan's actions showed that he was often willing to be reasonable and moderate and was nowhere near as draconian and right wing as today's GOP--Perry & Bachmann would call him a RINO. That being said, in other ways, he was the one who started us down the road that has lead to our problems now. We think in terms of "it's Bush's fault" or "It's Obama's" but these problems have been brewing for decades and everyone in power has had a hand. Future historians will point to the

  • I'll pick the one who is not a communist.

  • I have seen it but i can never understand why individuals so willingly give up their personal freedom to the govt. Guess not everyone can think for themselves. Maybe these liberal morons should live in a communism country. I have, Reagan...God bless you and those like you.

  • Well Reagan's quotes when you get them all in here win. Good night FDR created the big government of the 20th century and then LBJ continued the crap with his Great Society.

  • FDR kicks Reagan's wrinkly old ass, and he couldn't even use his legs.

  • Dude great juxtaposition however slightly hard to read, a drop shadow would go a long way.... BTW up the irons.

  • Roosevelt had pity on the 1/3 of Americans that were homeless and starving and redistributed some wealth. Beautiful.

Conversely, Reagan had his primary contributors in mind, repealed many FDR era anti-monopoly laws, and has moved us back towards a stratified nation.

FDR created the middle class. Reagan will erase it.

Dominate multi-national corporations do not promote competition or innovation. Quite the opposite. The trickle down effect is a joke.

    ~ FDR +1

  • ROOSEVELT FTW!!!!!!!!!! Reagan is one of the main reasons the economy and even the mid east are the way they are today.

  • FDR kicks Reagan's ass hands down. Reagan lied since the time he became a stooge for McCarthy and his thugs. FDR was not perfect but his policies were responsible for directly defeating fascism, creating a middle class and opening opportunities to the disenfranchised. Reagan reversed those gains and took credit for winning the Cold War which he had nothing to do with. When the epitaph is put on the USA Ronnie ghost's will be first among the gravediggers.

  • REAGAN ALL THE WAY!!!

  • more government, that is always the answer from democrats. Most of these quotes paint an accurate picture of both men. One believes in government, one believes in men.

  • @baseballcoach1000 I think you pretty much summed them up perfectly in that one sentence!!

  • another qoute by reagan(one of my favorites): "I noticed that everyone who is for abortion has already been born."

  • @EnergeticSupernova Oh man, that is so good. You can't escape that truth.

  • what side do i choose??? obviously one of the best presidents of the USA! ronald reagan all the way..conservitive power...tea party power...less goverment. music to my ears!

  • @CheekSqeeker15 AMEN!

  • FDR is the still the best president this nation has ever had. If only Obama could be more like FDR. If only FDR had lived long enough to get his second bill of rights passed...

  • @caffingdu FDR was the WORST President in the history of this country. Every bankrupt policy, every welfare program, every government bureaucracy can be traced back to that crippled moron. They ONLY reason he stayed in as long as he did was he had a lock on the biggest medium to reach voters. Radio. His unemployment never went below 20%. He price fixed and took away freedoms. Made it illegal to buy gold. He was a prick. PERIOD! Reagan? The top 3 along with Jefferson and Washington. Garfield too

  • FDR was a failure (extended economic crisis and blamed the previous guy, deja vu), and don't give me that 4 terms crap because Reagen would have had more if he were allowed

  • @BUCK3Y34991 He barely won his third and fourth - he had less and less popularity from 1st to 4th...the idiot ran for a 4th term even though he knew he would die and then did just a few months in...he just wanted to make sure we had another rat grabbing the balls of freedom

  • FDR was a disaster as a president. His New Deal lengthened the great depression

  • @GamerztimeX20 Reagan increased government spending wildly and substantially increased the percentage of government spending to GNP. He raised the percentage income tax; his tax boost in 1982 was the largest in American history. If that's small government, then I'm the Pope.

  • @nocturnezero yep and then he reduced his tax. Back to below what it was. he increased spending while the economy boomed, but the spending he did was not responsible for the boom. He spent money to rebuild our nations military which you know jimmy carter completely destroyed.

  • @nintendude60 So he was a Keynesian, but a libertarian Republican? The two are inherently opposite ideas. A Republican protecting liberty would assert the value of free markets, the Hayekian idea of markets saving themselves from the boom and bust cycle.

That's just dandy. Increasing defense spending to expand the nation's military power over the world.

  • @nocturnezero I am an Austrian economist. I have a degree in classical economics sprinkled with Keynes (who was and is an idiot). BUT< I must say that we have this system (for now) Keynesian theory. We have to get out of debt first then bring down the Fed. But Reagan did the right thing. The job of the President is to protect the country. Carter made us weak. Reagan brought down Russia. I remember the hide under your desk drill all to well. Reagan did the right thing in office!

  • Ronald Reagan, got us through the cold war and ended it. Brought us back from 2 recessions, created the largest peace time economy in a decade. Brought national pride back to everyone. Honestly Reagan was the man. Definately in my top 5 presidents of all time. He personally got our military back on track, and the hostages were realased because of how scared they were. Ownage!

  • @nintendude60 Very true man. I would like to see some quotes on FDR's political prison camps, and more about how history has been distorted to make the new deal seem like it saved us. The new deal prolonged the depression and made it worse. History has and is being changed the progressive model has never helped only made things worse.

  • @Kelthuzad126 Thanks!

  • I like how the only thing bad about reagan people can come up with, is the war on drugs. FDR was a socialist. He told companies, how much they can produce, what the prices are going to be. He took over private industries, closed the banks and told which ones can re-open. But FDR on a positive scale did get us through world war II and i stand by him for that.

  • Real believers of liberty support freedoms of gay marriage, abortion rights, and drug use.

  • @nocturnezero real believes of freedom, also know that this country was founded on christain morals, gay marriage is condemned, drug use is also condemned. Abortion is not even a non/pro christian thing. Abortion is killing an innocent human life. So please stop with abortion being ok, because its murder. Democrats have committed genocide with this. Over 50 million people have died.

  • @nintendude60 Seeing as the founding fathers were overwhelmingly deists - Thomas Paine, the libertarian prince, even wrote a pamphlet tearing apart institutionalized Christianity and religion in general - and they believed in a strict separation of church and state as expressed in the First Amendment. Abortion is killing what is classified in the scientific community as a parasite with no measurable consciousness or self-awareness.

  • @nocturnezero Nope 93% of all the founding fathers were christains. and Actually even the famed Thomas Jefferson said it should be noted that i have respect for christain morals. He did not believe in Jesus, but he did believe in what the bible taught. In fact the 1st amendment does not represent a seperation of church and state, it simply makes it so that the government could not make a national religion. Presidents can still pray.

  • @nintendude60 Where did you get that statistic, Answers in Genesis? The Fathers widely accepted the idea of the God and praised the Bible, but what makes them Christian would be an explicit admittance of the divinity of Jesus. That is the fundamental for defining a Christian, that they believe Jesus existed and was divine and benevolent.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." It separates the two, no doubt about it.

  • @nocturnezero Abortion, your telling me that human fetus is nothing more than a parasite, to be treated with the same dignity as a bug? Hmm. sounds like someone needs their morals checked out.

  • @nintendude60 Abortion, you're asserting your views in a flagrant self-righteous way yet not providing any backing for your claims?

Multiple studies have measured when fetuses can experience pain, which places the mark around the third trimester, after 99% of all abortions are performed. The fetus feeds off the woman with no mutual gain, making it parasitic. It experiences consciousness around the third trimester, so we should ban third trimester abortions and no others.

  • Stupid fucking moron used red on black. He should have done yellow. I can't read have the quotes unless I get really close. And I've got a headache already.

  • "I don't worry about the deficit" - Ronald Reagan

  • i def prefer fdr he got us thru ww2 and he didn't just seem like an arrogant twat. but also i really don't support reagan's war on drugs

  • @purpleuiop Because you are a lazy ass hole who wants the government to give you money. while the hard workers give you their money the government has taken from them to you. And you are a druggy

  • @Xblackhawk32Xz

whatever, i have a job and i have school and i manage to do well in both. and you're kind of a bitch. there's no reason that drugs should be illegal, people have the right to make their own choices in that matter. but even if their was a problem all the war on drugs did was cost the government a lot of money, tell lies to our children and put money in the hands of gangsters

  • @purpleuiop If we legalise drugs then everyone would go crazy not because everyone would do the drugs but they would be affected by the people who do the drugs. You are an ass telling me im a bitch when I served this country in desert storm and ive served in the millitary for the last 7 years since 2009 so dont tell me im a bitch, give me some respect wheather you agree with me or not, shame on you.

  • @Xblackhawk32Xz wow ok because you served in a war you're not a bitch! we weren't just both flinging insults at each other. but seriously do you really think more people would do drugs if they were legal and regulated? also not only would our government make money on taxes and not having to clog jail but it wouldn't clog our legal system and we could devote more time and effort to murderers and rapists

  • Damn straight it means im not a bitch nigger i got storys of my friends who died because they were high way more than friends who were drunk. Its an obsession people would steel and fight over the drugs, so shut up you dont know nothin you say they should be legal but you my friend sound wack so shut the fuck up.

  • @Xblackhawk32Xz right, okay. your friends died because of drugs that they chose to take? wow. that for sure means they should be illegal. do you support making guns illegal because i'm pretty sure thats what they're designed to do. and what about cars i know a few people that died from car accidents and 1 guy thats entire body was paralyzed. oh and lets make the sun illegal too, it causes cancer right? and people would steel and fight over the drugs? because thats not happening now?

  • @purpleuiop

You Dumb ass Drugs can do no good unless they are for medical purposes ok we have rules to driveing you cant drive until youre 16 and again theres rules..... Guns are illegal unless you have a permit so theres rules there too now what im saying is my niggers are hustlin makeing cash off the shit and im talkin drugs now and if drugs were legal they would start screwing with where ever he drugs would be sold, you god damned extremist

  • @Xblackhawk32Xz thats what i'm supporting: the regulation of drugs not just an outright ban on them that does nothing.

  • But, through it all, there is no denying that FDR was the most effective and transformative American President of the 20th Century. And, to his credit, there hasn't been another Great Depression or World War since his death in office in 1945.

Reagan too was an effective President, a great orator in his own right. But his economic policies, like FDR's, were unimpressive, and only quadrupled the national debt. Don't forget that.

  • We went from being a weak, ill prepared nation to an industrial-military powerhouse; as the undisputed leader of the free world. That, along with his genius as Commander and Chief and aspiring optimism that inspired the American public, must be balanced with his failures to get America out of the Depression and his mishandling of the principles of the Constitution.

  • Salsa... no he wasn't. He used crisis to created a model for the growth of government on a scale that we could never have afforded. The Constitution does not in anyway ingratiate [out of ideology] the ability for our elected to go off road an create debt through entitlement, you should know better than that.

  • Perhaps your right justaproducer. I agree with you that FDR did not follow in the footsteps of our Founding Fathers. (He) broke tradition by running for a 3rd term in 1940, expanded the role and powers of the federal government, and tried to appoint additional Justices to the Supreme Court to further his political agenda.

Those acts have done a great a disservice to our Constitution, and there's no doubt that FDR's policies are to blame.

  • Comment removed

  • FDR by farwe're talking about a man who gave us confidence in goverment and ourselves versus a man who said that anything that involves the term US Goverment is the enemy to the united states

  • FDR was successful mainly because of the war. Without the war changing people's focus, and that it eventually left the US as the only major country with industries secured from devastation of course he managed to recover the economy.

  • Reagan

  • Although I share many of Reagan's conservative ideas, the dire truth is, however upsetting to Republicans, was that Reagan was no Franklin Roosevelt.

Roosevelt transformed the American political landscape and revolutionized the role of the presidency by forever changing the relationship Americans had with their government.

For better or worse, Roosevelt was the perfect man for the time, a superior leader who led the country through one of the darkest periods of all human history.
