  • Heey~ I have that pencil.

  • Can you up the Power to a 20 Amp supply from a Mini radio Transformer, And then Apply thet through a Long solid pipe of Black Iron steal

Maby add a Tight rubber Heavenly insulated handel - Then turn it on and Show the kids @ this Halloween who the Real Jedi is? ; )

  • It burns the wood off and melts the led.

  • @KamakaziiDog I don't think lead is used anymore, no?

  • @adsensus Im not sure

  • Why My ToothPick is in Youtube ??

  • 13 Volts is all we get?! Come ooooon, give us more info, I wanna make a lightsaber. ^_^

  • Is this how they make lightsabers?

  • 13v, but what kinda of current?

  • @TruJezter DC... ac will do nothing.

  • Goodbye pencil. Hello cancer.

  • Use the force Luke!

  • He broke it!! Fuface.jpg

  • good now all we need is master yoda so he can wield that thing

  • Whats the amperage?

  • Cause Graphit is an Carbon...

  • so thats how u do a lightsaber kool

  • now burn a pin and see whats happens

  • i new it made light but it berns 2 awesome

  • thats badasssss.

  • Big on a stick!! anyone??!?! LMFAO XD

  • beast

  • is that just 13 volts? try 27 with 3x 9 volts xD

  • it s like a laser when you press number 4

  • @neilcyrus1 hmm... Let's not steal others comments okay? we all know that you took the comment from 1000featheredowl

  • lol, i used to do this with a 9V battery and a stick of graphite from a mechanical pencil. i melted some notches into my guitar pick among other things =P

  • this is chuck norris toothpick....

  • @novafutura777 This couldn't even come close to getting all the bad guy out of Chuck's teeth.

  • I have done this and it turned out very cool !!!

  • Oh wow... That is some white-hot graphite.

  • lol steve-o touch it see if it fuckin burns

  • O... so lead is made of uranium

  • its a lightbulb cheap!

  • the force is strong with this one

  • what amp?

  • paper burns!!!!!

  • woah mother fucker nice

  • Pretty awesome.

  • graphite conducts electicity.

    SURPRISE

    -_-

  • molten graphite my fav

  • pretty colorssss

  • This reminds me of the early days of electricity ware bulbs had graphite filaments and then there was arc light but they to got very hot.

  • BAM!!!!! lightsaver

  • @1996shakeandbake lightSABER stoopid

  • @MrBranMuffins actually technically it would be lightSABRE

  • lots of kids would be really sick right now if there was lead in pencils, they chew pencils still. graphite is safer

  • GLOW STICK

  • isnt that a pencil like from china

  • THAT'S A MO-F*CKIN' LIGHTSABER!

  • You're a mother fucking light saber.

  • 1000FeatheredOwl no its noy just a lightsaber its the deveis light saber

  • @1000FeatheredOwl

    I just have three letters

    L-O-L

  • @1000FeatheredOwl FUCK cunt dick tits. SHAKE YOUR TITS SHAKE YOUR TITS. shake your dicks shake your tits....are the motherfuckers ready for the fatherfuckers. are the fatherfuckers ready for the motherfuckers. are the motherfuckers ready for the niggerfuckers. are the niggerfuckers ready to fuck a nigger. "F*ck"....LMFAO

  • @narutofanxy someone never got the memo...

  • Ich habs nachgemacht !!!!!!

Nur bei mir hats nicht zu brennen angefangen, aber zu glühen

Jrtzt hab ich eine Stange Miene ohne Holz herum

  • cant i make a "suecide" wire and hook the pencil up to that?

  • what happens if you increase the volts/amps

    can you cut through plastic?

make s giant one of those with massive amount of power, lightsabre!!!

  • Totally Wicked.

  • hehe, its all smoky.

  • sweet!

  • And that sir is why lead is pure ownage

  • I liked the part when the pencil burned >:)

  • @JakeChaos666 very true and they dont use led in bullets because of medical reasons like in war

  • Doesn't it work with 12V? why doyou say 13V? Most batteries are 12V, people may be having trouble finding 13V batteries!!

Looks like fun, I'm game!! :-))

  • it's like a light saber!...you just need to make a big sword with a lead blade and figure a way to put electricity into the handle with a robber outer side

  • and thus, the lightsaber was born!

  • 3 and a half inch of pencil will do and 20 volts battery. or if not you may use your socket at home.

  • And many amps ;). You just drew more amps through your carbon resistor than it was made for ;)

  • omg sweet it blows up!

  • thats cool

  • light saber!

  • OMG jedi!

  • so thats how they make lightsabers

  • it works. i've just tryed it with 7.6V battery. and pencil become very-very hot

  • holy crap its its a ....... a cheese cutting light saber (fRom FaMiLy GuY StAr WaRs)

  • THAT COOL!

  • 13 Volts is quite low, so how many amperes were used? o_o

  • I'm wondering where you got 13V from... it's such an obscure number, and prime too.

  • I bet that smells good

  • i like it, you trolls.

  • daaaaaaaaaaaaaaang

  • LIGHTSABER!!!!!

  • 13v but How many amps? Quite alot I think

  • @badmattitude666 its graphite and a special mix of clays

  • he said nothing about led you retards just what happens when you hook up 13v to a pencil jeeze you dumbass trolls

  • u invented a real lightsaber!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i do beleive you have made a light saber. i congradulate you

  • It burnzz USS!! :O

  • @JakeChaos666 numbnuts, the old ones... lke in asia~

  • @howl13 fuck are you stupid? before you reply and look like a dumbass, read my other comments. thats what i fucking said kid.

  • @JakeChaos666 hey numbnuts, i just said numbnuts... you dont have to be that upset... im guessing you a have uni-ball~ yeah btw... they are STILL using Lead pencil on asian~ lead is only poisonous if you ingest it, dickwad~ who the fuck eats lead anyways, kids with a.d.d. like you? just shove it up ur ass, just to prove its poisonous fagget~

  • @howl13 im not upset, im getting tired of you fucktards bringing me back to comment on this video from months ago...

i dont give a fuck about what they do in asia. I fucking hate asians, so good for them, i hope they confuse the pencils with their tiny dicks, try and get blown, and wipe out their fucking population.

also; its *faggot*, not *fagget*, and I'm straight. got a gf. like pussy. etc.

  • @JakeChaos666 fag... hehehe, so ur saying u wish you hav a pussie? fagggggg

  • @howl13 oh totally. (obvious troll is obvious.)

  • @JakeChaos666 no need to be fucking racist just cuz u got upset over a fight.

  • cool..this is a basic carbon arc light as used in the 50's and 60's for film projectors.good to see.

  • loool cool i sour this on oops tv on sky 1 loool must of bin quite a good video looool

  • Sweet!!!, how many amps did you need?

  • ha its a mini lightsaber

  • cool!!! wow!!

  • Nice..

  • it's a mini light saber XD

  • graphite is very conductive and wood is very flammable... bad combo.

  • XD mini light-saber

  • at 0:28 the pencil looks like a laser.

  • my dad was a fire arms instructor.. he spent so much time at the range he got lead poisoning. for some reason this video reminded me of that...

  • @comodo24 It is possible to get lead poisoning if you don't wash your hands after contact with ammo. Bullet coating (shell) is made of several alloys and can contain small amount of lead. Ammo that contains biggest amount of lead is, you wouldn't believe it, Air-rifle ammo, 4.5 .Cal-it contains around 2% of lead.

  • It does look like a light saber!!!!! Awesome!!!!!! I need to try this. Looks cool!!!!!!!

  • In physics today we hooked up 3 powerpacks, resulting in 30 volts going through the pencil

  • awsome

  • This is 12V, 5 Amps DC(look in the comments), and I just found a 40 Amp AC power supply... all I need is a rectifier, and I could make a new water heater for the house!

  • cut voltage just as the wood falls off and you have a bare pencil lead (yes i know they use graphite) use that in a project. HOORAY

  • you guys are geniuses

star wars !!!!! that would be so cool i want a lite saber

  • this is the coolest thing i've ever seen!

  • Omg thats a light saber!!

  • he said a page back about 5 or so

  • And how many amperes is that exactly?

  • 13 volts but how many amperes

  • Its like a mini light sabre (saber?)!

  • thats cool gatta try it

  • Its just coal.

  • Wait, are these one of those old pencils with lead, or a modern pencil with graphite, or whatever the use?

  • Also, you may have just made one of the greatest tools of sabotage ever.

  • if modern pencils used lead we would all get lead poisoning.. think about it...

  • u moron they got rid of lead ages ago. its graphite and something else now.

  • @badmattitude666 they never had lead... not even ages ago.

  • @badmattitude666

damn haha. nobody says "hey, can i borrow some graphite for my mechanical pencil" haha. even tho is isnt lead people just never stopped calling it lead.

  • @badmattitude666 actually lead was never used! its just a myth, though you can write on paper with lead.

  • @badmattitude666 umm who ever said it was lead anyways

  • @badmattitude666 they used lead?

  • @badmattitude666

    Graphite and clay.

  • no, other way around. new ones use graphite because they found out lead was poisonous.

  • Pencils NEVER contained lead, it has always been graphite.

  • @shizoid123 no they did use lead the #1 pencil back in 1900-1950 had the the HB Soft #2 pencil was introduced in 1950, i believe, but at one point pencils had lead

  • @onionman113 No, they didn't. Ancient Egyptians used lead to write on papyrus, but those can't really be called pencils. The only reason people refer to the substance in pencils as lead is because when graphite was discovered they thought it was some form of lead, so the name stuck. The number on a pencil has nothing to do with whether it has lead or not. A #1 pencil does not nor has it ever contained lead, #1 just means it is a "B" (for black) pencil, meaning it is softer than a #2 pencil.

  • @shizoid123 u didn't have to explain the whole thing and yes pencil in fact did contain lead at one time and i said "I BELIEVE" so u don't have to go correcting me

  • @shizoid123 and btw i read a whole thing about pencils today so this is kinda ironic

  • Graphite, eg. very good electrical conductor.

  • Pencils dont use lead anymore they use graphite btw

  • @jakethescenester Pencils never have used lead.

  • pencils use graphite. no need to worry. yeah lead give you mad hatters disease

  • wow, amazing :D

  • Great, now attach a metal hilt and you've got yourself a lightsaber!

  • lool

  • rofl

  • how many volts do u use?

  • i tried making this thing work, for my physics class, but didnt work. I used many 1.5 V batteries, making up a total of aprox. 20 V so it should have done it, but the only result i got was some smoke and the pencil got very hot, but nothing burning or slicing paper...like in the vid, so can you tell me what did you use as a battery? Please, it is really important, thanks, i appreciate

  • 1.5V batteries wont provide enough current; u need something like a car battery or even better a 13V power supply (we used a schools lab power supply that If i remember right provides up to 5A of current)

  • @lordandrew92 you have to use a car baterie

  • @lordandrew92 power supply from your computer or car battery will do the job

  • Realy cool!!!! i 'll try this at home for sure

  • is the bright thing lead???

  • so the red hot thing is the lead

  • it's graphite. Pencils have graphite.

  • oh really?

  • How much current is this?

  • I don't think that's an unreasonable question.

It's really just a roundabout way of asking what the resistance of the pencil is. Obviously the voltage is 12V, but the electrons passing through the pencil is what causes the temperature increase. Therefore, it is current (amps) not voltage that causes the pencil to heat up.

Since V = I*R, if you know resistance & voltage, you can find current. I'm an electrical engineer.. I do this for a living.

  • cool

  • thats real cool

  • OMG LIGHTSABER!!11!!11!!!! lol

  • WTF?! 1: it's GRAPHITE, 2: Lead isn't flammable, neither is graphite.

  • all that happends is that is gets really hotand turns read so no it didnt burn the wood on the pencil did

  • Lead isnt made out of lead. its made out of graphite. Because they both look the same but when someone touch graphite it will leave marks

  • I beg to differ about graphite not being able to burn. Look up the Chernobyl disaster and you'll find that under the extreme temperature the reactor went through the graphite moderator did in fact catch fire. Granted it took a lot to accomplish a graphite fire, but it can happen.

  • im sure some one else already pointed it out, but its just electricity. 13V as he plainly stated. and the lead is a conductor.

  • thats pretty cool

  • I dare you to touch it.

  • cool! could i do it with a 9 volt?

  • Technically you could, because all that's happening is electrons from the battery are being forced through the graphite. It might just take a bit longer, is all

  • Graphite... it does that

  • The graphite conducts electricity only poorly, hence all the heat!

  • the lead was fucking orange hot! thats awesome!

  • i dare you to touch it

  • how much current is actually needed to get the core of the pencil to glow?

in theory you could do it with one volt I'd imagine.

would a set of 9-volt batteries in parallel do? how many amps would you need?

  • was the orange at the end the led or whatever they use to write with nowadays
