Guys he's holding the budgie fine. Acually young budgies feel safe when you hold them like that. The way he held the bird definitely has nothing to do with its death.

@roseedaredcp Exactly. The correct way to hold a budgie, or any small bird, is to have their back at the palm of your hand. Their head should rest in between your middle & index finger with those fingers turned down gently on their chest to hold them in place. I usually put my thumb up under their feet as well, just so they have something to hold onto while I'm looking at them.
This way is easier for them to breathe & they can still move without getting free until you want them to.
just let her wings grow out when you feel you have her able to step onto your hand or whatever. give her that respect to be able to fly freely and enjoy herself being a sweet little budgie-bird..okay?:) btw...we dont think you lie either like you mentioned on the birdboard. congrats on your new budgie

The way you were holding you're Budgie is the last thing you want to do.
You're body heat is way over the top of a Budgie's body heat. You could have suffocated you're Budgie.
