  • These fish die at 50* to 60 * F..

  • dont tilapia like warm water

  • y ug ot like 5 fish in that big ole thinghahah

  • OMG.. there in pools..

  • Hopefully with your profits you can get a new video camera :)

  • brilliant

  • Throwing away a wonderful source of fertilizer, while polluting the stream. Close the loop..... run the pump to hydroponic plants, which in turn filter the water and grow a great garden, with what you are now polluting the stream with. You already have the system in place to do it. also grow duckweed in a kiddie pool, to feed the talipia. Good luck.

  • i am going to raise Tilapia also, what tips can you give me? im new and i also have a stream, i have set up mine just as you did yours, what do they eat? and any other tips thanks i want to raise them for food

  • those will work fine until the raccoons puncture the tanks...I would recommend hard plastic or galvanized stock tanks.

  • real nice setup lucky to have a stream close by i have one also will try raising fish thanks for your video

  • where can i buy that kind of fish tank?im from Philippines?

  • Instead of using that complicated ass pipe system id have gotten about 20 of my friends and buckets and in less than 15 minutes badabing your done

  • @xbeast133 and every 6 hours you will have too be calling your 20 dumb friends to fill it up again. try and think beyond your nose.

  • @xbeast133Only problem is keeping the fish alive after its filled up.He would then spend a ton of money on electric to run filters and air,not to mention he would then have to constantly clean the filter media etc to keep the fish from dieing from nitrite/nitrate and ammonia poisoning. If he didn't filter it and just filled it and tossed fish in they'd all die pretty quickly from nitrite/nitrate and ammonia poisoning if not become sick and die.

A natural stream does all of this filtering for him

  • @itsbadlands Sir with the advance in agriculture and solar energy they now have agriculture equiptment that runs on solar energy and wind. I have my own tank that is completly self sufficent. The tank is 30ft accross. I have 4 water solar fountian pumps to airate the water and a solar water pump from a nearby river that filers out the old water onto a taro feild. twice a day.

  • @808Hea Now THAT is AWESOME!

  • You might wanna think about some sun protecction for the pools, it will surely double the life time of them.UV will eat them in no time.

  • I would love to hear how this worked out. I've wanted to raise my own for a while now and I think it's time to stop procrastinating :)

  • thanks

  • You need to do something to oxygenate the water. That one pipe following isn't going to be enough for the fish.

  • at the end of the video you said something about the temps? I was going to ask you about the temp? out of a spring for sure, around here in Pa the springs are real REAL cold!! Would your fish breed and survive in the cold water? or does it heat up pretty good because of the sun? Cool video gave a 5 on rates post more when you get fish Cool Joseph T (fly2000jtb)

  • I looked at the kmart site and they are selling them for $200. Are they inflatable or solid plastic?

  • if your raising tilapia in there get a good algae bloom going . You want green water. forget about clear water.

    clear water is for aquariums.

  • hahhahaha genius

  • how long do you think is going to last ? please im not been sarcastic i need some tips for my rescue center in peru

  • @terramartecom This is not the kind of video you want to be looking at then. There are many other videos with better setups and descriptions.

  • I have tried this but its not working for me. any steps i can take

  • this setup needs aeration bubbling from the bottom of the tank to the top. the amount of water going into those tanks are not sufficient for any large number of fingerlings that you plant to put in it. Also I would put lots of hydrilla in the water to remove nitrates.

  • labolagi

Have you looked into aquaponics? That may be a solution for you.

  • @labolagi You need to aerate the water much and do something about the build up of waste from the fish.

  • According to Dr Rakocy at UVI, traces of toxic plasticizers typically emitted by brand new swimming pools can be hard on the fish, and some plant species can actually penetrate the liners from below, but good luck!

  • my god i agree, would concrete pools be safe?

  • $50 pools! Awesome idea! Thanks for your sharing!

  • Omao? where is this? never mind, I googled it an your on Kauai. What kind of tilapia you plan to raise? You plan to sell? Kind of hard without the Superferry. THANK YOUR NEIGBORS FOR THAT! You know, the ones who move to the islands from the mainland lol.
