  • 2:41 And lo and behold. Capitalism at its finest. "I'm concerned with the preservation of our way of life. And a damned good one". So is it OK to keep your comfy way of life by destroying everyone else's? Rednecks who don't know jack shit about anything get obese with Big Macs while people in Chile get massacred?

  • Oh HELL no. That guy needs to be knocked.

  • jack lemmon acting his pants off!

  • Astonishing, the duplicity and ability to lie to a father's face re his son's torture and execution with the approval of the USA. Unreal. They let his hang for weeks lying to him all the time knowing he was dead.

  • Frank Teruggi, Jr. was the son of a friend of my father. This movie is very emotinal for me to watch.

  • "You Play with Fire You get burn" Words to remember America

  • fascists are not germans or italians or spanish of chileans or americans, they're a strain of human beings that with psychopathic tendencies that have found themselves through 'good' fortune in powers of position...which is probably part of the same disease - ambition. at the other end of the spectrum you have a huge amount of people that are poor and looking for someone to blame for their situation. the situation dovetails very nicely. in the middle we are powerless but can only do our best.

  • Good point,Tower.

  • They not only knew;they had him killed.

  • "In other words 'You're still unbrained.' Got it?"

  • The performance of Jack Lemmon in this movie is absolutely awesome... great, great and great actor ! He makes me cry..

  • @alphafloor71 Damn straight.

  • the way Jack lemmon adlibs kicking the chair in frustration at 1:25..he's totally in character...always brings something extra to a performance..a true star

  • why do countries kill their intellectuals?

  • @MoonAharshMistress Because they'er afraid of truth,and knowledge.

  • Jack was nominated for best actor en 82 for this movie, lost out to Ben Kinglsey for Ghandi.

  • ..shame.

  • Nobody was beatin Kingsley in ´82. I mean NOBODY. Ghandi ? C´mon the guy

was friggin channeling the diapered one. :D

  • Lol....true

  • Nahh, si al final el concepto de enterrar en una pared, se refiere a los nichos comunes, como los del Cementerio General. Tanta indignacion no amerita.

  • Brilliant movie, brilliant performances by Sissy Spacek and esp. Jack Lemmon. Two of the all-time great American actors. Debió de ser tremendamente controvertida cuando se estrenó, no en vano las dictaduras militares todavía estaban muy extendidas por América Latina.

  • jack lemmon is the best actor ever

  • One of my favorites.

  • ¡Esto es realmente indignante! La version en español de esta película no dice que fue enterrado en una pered. Si no me equivoco, la película fue doblada al español por Televisa (México). ¡Debería darles vergüenza!
