A very well done video of one of Disney's best resorts. My family and I stayed there many times in the 1970s, 80s, and 90s. My son now lives about 15 miles from it and he and his wife go there regularly/ as you do not have to be a resort guest to visit there or use its fine restaurants.

I am no longer well enough to go there from Michigan anymore, so thank you so much for this tour of one of my best memories.

We're just like you, probably won't ever be able to afford staying there, but we also will make a point to always visit the Poly! We ate at Kona Cafe and walked the grounds during our last trip, and can't wait to do it again! It's a fun place! O'hana's for dinner is next on the agenda.

I cant imagine going to disney world and staying anywhere but the polynesian. I LOVE this place. Disney World is my favorite place in the world!!!! Polynesian is the best hotel!!

man do I miss this place. my family and I would always stay here when we took our yearly trip to Disney World during October, for about 15 years straight. my dad would always go down to play in the Walt Disney Classic golf tournament and they'd always let us stay at a Disney resort of our choice, and we always picked this one. hope to return one day.

I am with you about not being able to afford to stay at the Polynesian, but we always make sure we make trip for dinner at 'Ohana so I can enjoy a Malibu Macaw at the Tambu Lounge!

Wowzers, you were there same time as me that year. After discovering the Cheerleading competitions that go on at that time, I decided not to go in February any more.

wow, what a coincidence. We didn't run into the cheerleading, though. Took Amtrak all the way down from Boston - great trip. Our room @ the Polynesian was just a few steps away from the main hall - very convenient, loved the whole vacation!!

I just took a vacation to Walt Disney World less than a week ago. We stayed at the Polynesian and we loved it! This place is magnificent. We have stayed at almost all of the Disney hotels our favorite, the Grand Floridian. Until our stay at the Polynesian we thought the Floridian was such a Disney gem but we found out the the Polynesian was one of the most relaxing hotels on Disney property. When you stay at this hotel you feel like your getting the Disney "Special treatment".

I stayed at this resort when I went to DW in Aug. of 2006 and loved it! I'm going to stay at it again when I visit DW in Sept. of 2010! (Sept. is when DW is least crowded and lines (If any) aren't long.

if you haven't stayed there before, it's a really great hotel, and it's only 1 stop away from the magic kingdom by monorail. I hope you have a great time!

they used to have different music for each of the hotels on the WDW site, but have taken it down. sad, cause it added to the feel of the place.

I guess they just didn't feel it was still needed to sell reservations any more. =-/

Now as far as ambiance music AT the resorts go, I miss the Cajun style fiddle music they used to play in the lobby at P.O. Riverside. I think too many people complained that they just didn't identify with it.

funny you actuallyContemporary - Tower feels like are somewhat in hawaii so you can be there and still have DW. Also my hotel is across the street from this hotel when I stay there.
