Very good video on this weapon i have been looking into getting one. and this video helped me out a lot the only thing i find bullshit is that you have to have american parts on it. to me if someone is going to use it for killing you cant stop them from that by saying they have to have this and that on there the american parts don't have the spunk of the real thing plus i pretty sure you can get a full auto permit so whats the point other then to stall all of us.
Actually, polish Tantal wz.88 and Beryl wz.96 are most unreliable ones out of AK family. I still like them tho. Tantal stock is more comfortable than people think.
hey how r u ? well i recently brought a tantal n ran into a problem which i need a parts kit. where did u buy urs please give me full detailed info. thanks
How easy are these to assemble if one only has simple tools, such as a hammer, pliers, and flathead and Philips screwdrivers? Can it be done with ease?
There's a company called birchwood casey and they have a really good and easy to use gun bluing kit that has everything you need to do a good bluing job and they aren't super expensive. You can get them at places like Cabela's or some gun stores.
Your bayonet is not a "tantal" bayonet...the one on your rifle is a standard polish akm bayonet. I had one also had one for my "tantal" until I found a real "tantal" bayonet.
dude.. i wouldn't worry about it. i think it's 9 american parts to be 922r compliant.. there could be springs, op rod, magazine, all sorts of things. i'm quite sure they did it right, though.
Question about 922r compliance. My Century Tantal has Tapco trigger group, marked US,but nothing else. Also have a Century M70ab2,no markings at all except SN and manufacturer on the receiver, and Zastava logo. Looks exactly like a home build. Obviously,Century had to be compliant, but how would I prove it if questioned? For that matter how could Century prove it? Seems like a lot of loopholes, have you heard of anyone running afoul of the law over this?
Sorry, guess I wasn't clear with my question. Sure,Century is one of the biggest, which is my point. They probably have thousands of M70ab2's out there with no US markings on the parts, and hundreds of these guns on the used market. With no box and no receipt from Century, how can a third party buyer show their gun is compliant? The law doesn't require parts to be marked, and that points up the absurdity of it all. 922r is bullshit, unenforceable,so why bother?
nice video man, very informative. I went with a bulgarian 74 from atlantic firearms (blane is a dick), but i've always admired the tantal. Do you have any info on how accurate of a rifle the tantal is in comparison to the bulgarian? 5*

could you make a livin off building these and sellin them at gun shows?
FFarmerCharlie 1 year ago
@FFarmerCharlie
If you did that you would need to become a licensed manufacturer
You would also need to find all the parts and tools, learn the craft of building good guns, and achieve a reputation in the industry
After all that I guess you could
GunWebsites 1 year ago
that version is the older one cos the modern one are heve same mag as AK 74 that one is have AK 47 mag so that one is a early version

While doing a screw build you do not have to take the front half of rifle apart. You must take it apart for a rivet build though.

The Tantal is an all around quality weapon to own, cheap, fun, accurate, and a good gun to have in your Kalashnikov collection.

Question about the receiver for the Tantal or AK74 in general are they different than AK47 receiver beside from the places for the holes
mammoth321 2 years ago
well the extra hole for the selector on the left side..no other AK has that

9mmkahr 2 years ago
it is not 9 parts.. I think you are confusing the 10 necessary US parts with the 5 needed on the AK series rifles
you are correct they 'did it right'

Your Tantal is old with a Tapco Trigger (3 US parts, and a US made magazine (3 US parts)
They also prolly use a US made barrel (1 US part)
You only need 5 on an AK or 6 with muzzle device
Do they are good to go
Use US mags, or replace the Floorplate & follower on the Foreign made magazine bodies to 'look' more correct
The Yugo has similar US parts in it's design
Of course CAI can 'prove' they are doing it legit, they are one of it not the largest importer of AKs these days

do you know if MA residents can buy guns in NH and bring them back to MA?
koreanpeoples 2 years ago
no I don't but I assume the same federal laws over interstate firearms purchases apply to you as well as any weird local laws you might have
don't ask the internet, call a local store who WILL know, and then let us know what you found out

sick today and ill watch it latter....just taks to ling 4 it to load..looks like a noter good vid
blackquiver 2 years ago
a magazine also counts as 3 parts! if you want the authentic look just keep the mag and put an american spring and follower and its 2 parts!
SHTFzombies 2 years ago
Almost correct, it's a US made floor plate (not spring) and follower, but yes two US parts that are not visible and fairly cheap
