I'm 15 now and I want to know if it is worth for me to purchase yamaha dt50x? I'm asking this because I will probably buy 125ccm in two years... I need it for a year and a half, and another question which one is better to purchase yamaha dt50x or aprilia sx50? thanks for the information....

KTM is not better than the yamaha wr on the road which is what most of u guys will ride it on 99% of the time. Its not meant to be as hardcore as the KTM because they are completely different bikes, except for the look. Ones a 2 stroke ones a 4 stroke!

@guns511 I put a reply to your question over on v=6c4FSB1dlbQ (copy and paste that after "watch?" in the address bar of your browser) but just in case you didn't get that, the short answer is 17. You'll need a provisional licence (or a full car licence) and a CBT certificate to ride this with L-Plates (no pillion allowed and no motorways).

If you're saving for a bike now, set your budget to cover proper gear too.

Bike boots protect your feet (both from the road and from the bike) - in normal footwear you're looking at seriously mangled feet in a crash. Proper gloves, pants (kevlar jeans as absolute minimum) and jacket are "musts" too I think. Bones heal with a cast or some pins, serious road rash takes wire brushes to clean up and major surgery to replace the skin.

Dress properly, ride safely. :D

@hadrikluca seat height precicely 92 cm original, but I lowered mine down to 86,5 cm with a new saddle (FREE from yamaha on request in France) and a modified lever damper (cost is 32 Euros). Still a bit high for me, need care... But a nice bike, for beginers... Will sell it for an FZ8 in September... Great change...

i own an yamaha XT125r 4 stroke only 10hp lol topspeed with my fat ass is about 64 mph is the WR any better with the extra 5 hp im thinking of getting one?

i would get another 2 stroker but there high maintenance and the power seems to be all or nothing i not really into that anymore, the 4 stroke as alot more bottom end grunt and dont make your ears bleed when you want all the power

I don't know how fat you are. But i'm 6.4 feet and have a gut. And can get 75mph out of my wr125r. And i love the bike. Don't know if that helps.
