Um, not every movie in a filmmaker's career has to follow the same fuckin' boundaries as the last. I mean, there are T1 fans who hate on T2, simply because its not as dark and scary as the first. But, T2 isn't trying to be exactly like T1. It has a different message to convey.

I actually was so stupid when I was 9 and I saw this, I actually thought that the T-1000 was gonna be another Arnold. lol. And, I feel bad because Robert did such a wonderful job as the equally threatening 2nd terminator.

Anyway, piss on The Dark Knight, Piss on all of the horrible sequels and spin-offs. T2 forever.

@louie2988 cameron is always at the leading edge of technology...most of his awards come from special fx and sound...neither one of those directors has much substance in their films, though cameron's tend to deal with heavier issues...both are good at what they do, and that is to make some awesome *looking* movies

Putting myself in a mindset like I never saw this movie before, I would've beleived Arnie was the evil Terminator again and Robert Patrick was the good Terminator.

That made the T-1000 even more sinister for me. He blended in with society better, behaved more human etc. Made him seem more intelligent. That plus his advanced physical abilities. Even with the T-800 the movie still gave me a sense of near-hopelessness and desperation the first one generated.

The bait and switch was Cameron's original intension and I agree with you, if they had kept Arnie's good role a secret it would have been a great shocker on par with Vader being Luke's father or Bruce Willis being a ghost the whole time. But the ad wizard's at Fox came up with the idea to exploit the role reversal in the promotional campaign. Too bad. Still a great film though.

That movie trailer did the exact opposite. For when it came out, audience thought Arnie was the bad guy and Patrick was the good guy. It doesn't even go into detail of any of the main plot details.

i got like soooo excited when i saw this for the first time on cinema attractions, an US film show. trailer is awesome, does well not to give too much away. i did expect arnie to be the bad guy again and the other terminator, the protector. well the t1000 was in police uniform. appearances can be deceptive!

Anyways, DO get the Directors Cut of this movie...the scene where Sarah cuts open Arnold metal skull and pulls out the chip and puts it back in....it really creeps me out and at the same time, I just hadda say "WOW..Cool!!!" out loud..then I watched the making of that scene and STILL think its cool....never attempted again in any movies after that...
