The Firm are AUTHENTIC, as authentic as if the singer had personally taken a dump, let it dry, picked up the cowpat-like pile and had it pressed into the form of a 7 inch single. Most other British bands whose CDs are available in the supermarket are just plastic rubbish. If all you care about is presentation, that's fine, but this shit has got real flavour. The sort of flavour that can only be washed down with a jug of tap water. I'd like to light this band's cigarette. On a yacht, or anywhere.
Actually, if you listen (and look) very closely you can make out Morrissey's penchant for observational lyrics and ironic humour in addition to Siouxsie's mannerisms. The vocal style over here reminds me of Morrissey.
By the way, that song title would give Meat Loaf a run for his money!
Brilliant song. The video is really well shot. It looks like a classic post-punk era video! It conjures images of early Echo and the Bunnymen and Siouxsie and the Banshees. I wish you all the best for the forthcoming release of your band's debut album.
By the way, I don't know if you recollect but once we opened for you at the Gaff for the Vapour Trail gig. I am the bass player in a band called 'Higher Love'.
very nice!
