well if the tail rotor fails or is damaged and you no longer have anti torque and you start spinning maybe if you are not to high the better thing thing would be cut engine power to eliminate the torque and use the remaining main rotor momentum to possibly bring you down or if quite high up in flight cut engine power and try to go into autogiration and land by only using the main rotors momentum

well after he hit the tail on the ground i think he took out the tail rotor then there is no more control of the craft for spinning there is no more counter to the torque from the main rotor if you are not to high maybe you could try  to cut out the collective but then you will drop i do not think this guy would of though of this at this time anyway
