It undermine's Ussop's character by using Sogeking. It's practically saying "Ussop cannot be a hero of any worth unless he hides behind a mask and acts like someone else entirely. Because being Ussop himself just doesn't cut it at all." It just makes him look weak to have to use a crutch. He can't be the badass warrior of the sea if he has to hide behind a mask

Besides, he's been at sea for 11 straight years. He should have grown out of the cowardice thing long ago.

@demonbuddah well i think part of that reason is because since animes like bleach and naruto and one piece uses jokes and puns doesnt translate well and the lines dont make sense like puns about japanese culture that can be used as insults probably doesnt translate well so the translators has to make something up on the spot to make up for it and it ends up not fitting the scene right when its played out
