I even let the bugger go later the same day! I kept it only long enough to do a little studying.

it does... ive seen them alot in my grandma's backyard.. she got that .. pool.. not to swim in it but with fishes in it (don't remember how to say it in english :P ) but ive seen them doing something.. like collecting oxigen from the surface and then take it to the deep... quite strange...
