I think edge is a positive thing. I just hate to see it when people throw it in others faces because they didn't make the same choice. I grew up since being little kid around it and at shows with friends who were and weren't. I can honestly say I can drink a beer and love it as a beverage not a way to hide personal issues or let it effect my life. I've only been straight edge for about three months. No idea if I will be for the rest of my life, but currently, I have too much going on to take any kind of intoxicants (which could make me complacent) or have promiscuous sex and risk and STD or getting someone I'm not committed to pregnant. The problem with most potheads is that they think theres NOTHING wrong about weed, and use lines like "its safer than coffee or beer"

I am straight edge, I've never felt the need to smoke a cigarette, or drink a glass of beer. And I never will. I do not have anything against people who do these things. You can smoke, drink, do any drugs you want, it doesn't effect my life. I just don't need it.

@KiDCuDiBrah I don't think choosing to abstain from "drugs" defines whether or not you're a good person. There are plenty of sober bad people in the world, and plenty of really good people who do a lot of drugs. We wouldn't have some of the most beautiful music ever created without drugs.
