Your statement is incorrect. I don't think that Islam should be compared to an economic/political system that was responsible for horrible governments like the Nazis, the Ba'athists, etc. A more suitable title is "Islam is Similar to Socialism" or "Islam Promotes Social Equality and Development," because socialism has become a very negative thing, especially in America.

The dark ones are notorious for creating or co-opting groups to carry out their own nefarious purposes. I know nothing about this Muslim Brotherhood group but if history is a sign as to what will happen, it will be used to push buttons in large groups of people who aren't paying attention in order to bring about fear or chaos or oppression, etc.
Socialism, when it's done out of your own freewill, it's a good thing, when a government enforces it, it's theft. Any time someone forces you to give to someone else, it is not charity it is theft. When the church was first founded, everyone shared all they had with each other so there were no poor amongst them.

Zakat and jizyah are totally different.
Zakat is the institution you discussed. Jizyah is war reparations.
Believers set up a system of zakat in their community. In America: Social Security.
Jizyah was only for the disbelievers, and in response to their actions against the believers. Surah 9:17-29
