@stratkiller51 the MXR 108 is exactly the same circuit as a Fuzz Face, it's just a more pedal board friendly size and it has a buffer switch which stops the oscillation if you put a wah pedal in front of it. The Swollen Pickle is essentially a hot rodded Big Muff. The main sound differences would be: the SP is mid scooped so it won't cut through a band mix as well as the 108, the SP will produce more fuzz than the 108 and the SP will have more versatility due to the scoop filter & crunch knobs:)

@Beelzebro I tried the big muff, bass muff and tone wicker muff......used on a peavey delta blues 15 inch speaker amp....must say I was a little diffapointed in them all....used a gnl telecaster....I think you need to use them on the dirty channel....the thing is that you loose a lot of high end with these..I own a dr swamp pedal from tärex and it pretty much sounded like they all did on my super champ ex...maybe the pickle is better..not sure

@MetallicaMan5432 - Jack White uses Big Muff pedals i believe but i find this pedal to be really comparable to the warm fuzz tone of the Big Muffs. - I paired one with a fullbore metal pedal (you have to roll back some of the settings a bit to tame it) - and can get a really intense sound. It warms up and rounds out the fullbore pedal.

@Colliernator1000 not sure- I don't listen to much U2 but I don't even think the edge uses a lot of fuzz if I remember correct- not saying he never uses fuzz he just doesn't keep it going all the time... never the less it is odd haha

Well, as I stated, I got the pedal! This pedal is off the chain! It's all that they said it is and then some. This pedal is a must buy. I'm using this pedal through a Genz Benz El Diablo 100watt amp head and a Genz Benz 2x12 G - Flex Cabinet. I definitely recommend that you use a noise gate with this pedal. I'm using a ISP Noise Reduction pedal and it works great without taking any pickle juice from this pedal.

It's kinda based on the Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi, so I don't see why it couldn't do those tones or something close to them. The thing to remember about the "Siamese Dream" sound, is that aside from the huge number of overdubs Billy did on that, the Big muff he used is a version EH no longer makes. That said, any of the new Big Muffs can also get close to that tone. This seems more versatile though - more control options...

hey man im gettin this pickle tomoro for 100 bucks NEW!! or the fat sammich?? im leanin twards the pickle tho i want the earily 80's sabbath fuzz. im like a "down" kinda doomish band any imput wood be great. i got a marshall 4x12 cab stacked ontop of a powered single 15. with a cheap solid state crate head. i just use the over drive on the head 4 now sounds pretty killer with the low end the 15 kicks out. 70-13's tunded pretty low on an ibanez s540

Meh, the pickle was just too thick. I ended up getting a keeley fuzz head, and that sounds great, I just haven't been able to PINPOINT the sound i'm looking for yet, but i'm satisfied for now, it could use some tinkering.

Adjust the internal trim knobs...

Some folks don't realize there are two knobs INSIDE the casing. IDK but u may have to unscrew it to get inside.
