I do remember the battle of the DJs back in the early 80's on 92 KTU. They were competing for the DJ gig at B'way 96. The battle featured Aldo Marin, Dynamic Duo, Tony & Ulysses Sankitts and the Animal (cant remember his name). Aldo won and got the gig at B'way 96. Great club back in the days.
The Fun House in NYC? Absolutely. I went there several times, actually the Disco 3 aka The Fat Boys, were performing one night with Punkin and the Allstars along with T-La Rock if I'm correct. Dude, everybody in the house was wearing Kangol, LEEs, PUMA or ADDIDAS and some had Sheepskins with the big nameplates around their necks..LOL. Wow what a blast from the past. Remember The Roxy or Roseland????????? Great Times they were.
Rascals and someone confirmed it being Aldo Marin on the previous page. Aldo was close with TLR from their very start so it is possible they worked together on it but it is still a great mix in any case.....
LATIN RASCALS ARE KINGS FOR EVER. They inspired me from day one, every weekend on KTU we listened, we bugged out, we would try to follow what was goin on. they amazed us all week after week. nobody, nobody til this day has ever rocked shit in such an intense way as they did. over n over again. AMAZING, thanx for sharing
ALDO MARIN was and is still the king IMO regarding 4 track mixes...in 1983...check also his 1983 > 12" vinyl MEGAMIX called "Shadow one"...with a HIP HOP mix on one side & a DISCO mix on the other side..;-)
It's NOT The latin rascals here! it's ALDO MARIN! Ive 3 of his mixtapes from back then + i've a cassette with the same Pacos supermixshow on from WKTU (1983)- check from 4 min. 15 sec. and u can hear a vocoder voice saying *Aldo* over the instrumental of "It's like that" & "Clear" get it! so its NOT The latin rascals, but ALDO!, before ALDO formed his label CUTTING with his big brother later in 1983 he was one of the best DJs in NY to make these 4 track mixes this mix is from the summer of 1983.
I had all this stuff on casettes a long time ago,,,lol, but stuff got lost .question? i love the first song playin ,whats the name of it ? i like yur taste in music
Be sure ;) There comes more from the LatinRascals on 92KTU and WKRS(KISS-FM) some things from "The DynamicDuo" and "RedAlert" are also in work. .... so stand by ;)
I remember Paco From KTU, he had great D.J.'s such as Aldo Marin, The Animal,& Little Louie Vega, of course Latin Rascals were my favorite & they were my inspiration to become a D.J. back in 1985.
Hi. In the 80's they bring at Radio- Station RIAS 1 (Western- Berlin), around the Show "Studio 89" the legendary "PACO'S Supermixes from NY. Still have some of them on tape....and love them.

I was not sure about this one being The Latin
Rascals and someone confirmed it being Aldo Marin on the previous page. Aldo was close with TLR from their very start so it is possible they worked together on it but it is still a great mix in any case.....

Yes, and I'm very astounished, cause at the beginning of this mix there is Paco from 92 KTU announcing .."this is a latin rascals edited mix".
miller4th502nd 2 years ago
No there is not, however this mix exists in different versions with different edits. However listen at 4.14 for the reference to Aldo
