  • I remember this from Final Fantasy 9 also XD

  • See, THIS would have been a better song to use in the Cavern of Ice than Matoya's theme!

On the other hand, I just like this dungeon theme the best. =P

  • ricard highwind kain highwind.alexander highwind tycoon and cid highwind might be either coincidence or just relatives

  • @GalufTheInvincible There are some reoccurring names (as you know) in FF. There's Biggs and Wedge, Cid and also Highwind (There may be more, but not that I can list of the top of the head) The fact they all have the same last name is probably just the reoccurring factor of the name "Highwind"

  • The part at 0:52 is just totally awesome!

  • Ugrug Onaclov.

  • After playing FFIX, I must laugh when I played this and recognize this Soundtrack xDD Its great :3 btw. it's also use in Chocobo Racing, I think it was this mine-level but not quite sure about that, but it is in the game!^^

  • Jesus: Walks on water < Hero of Light: Walks through lava

  • @eternallytimeless should've been

Jesus: walks on water < Chuck Norris: swims on land < Hero of light: Walks on lava

  • @eternallytimeless Haha yes, I found that very odd when I went through there.

  • This game is very simalar to ff9 such as the four fiends gaurding the crystals

  • FF9 may have had similarities as far as the original, but they never claim that it's in the same universe, and different timeline as FFI

  • @Minan3 I don't recall them ever saying Kain was Ricard's son either. They make it pretty obvious without ever directly saying yes or no.

  • @asteroidrules I guess it was because they shared the same last name, or Cid highwind would have ancestors if the series was time oriented.

My guess for ricard and kain is that they shared the same last name, but their story seems to match, and not bbe referring to each other. It's tricky or we would have had references to firion, maria, guy, and leon. I don't know... ~_~

  • Sounds really similar to golden sun

  • This is really nice. But gotta say that I prefer the IX version

  • @XHXRX same, although 9s remade songs are better

  • Is it just me....or is it getting incredibly hot all of a sudden?

  • The 3rd Stratum of Etrian Odyessy 3 Drowned City should have had this music... it fits right in ;)

  • I'm disappointed by this song- the original was so high-energy and enthusiastic. Of course, they still did a damn good job here, so... Best disappointment ever?

  • @WhiteMageMentality No way, the other one sounds retarded and like midi format or some shit. This has so much more emotion and just sounds better overall.

  • @WhiteMageMentality yep, though this is more eery. And that why I love it XD

  • This was in Secret of Mana aswell :D

  • Ahh its off tune.

    I don't like it.

  • @piromaniac9999 What do you mean it's off tune?! It sounds like the original!

  • Im pretty sure FF9 was supposed to be a spin-off game that had roots to all previous FF games.. Which explains lots of referances to previous FF games throughout the.. erm game. At some point in production they decided to make it a full Final Fantasy game. I could be wrong however but im pretty sure i read about it years ago...

  • is there any connection between the storyline of FF IX and FFI...

    i never played FF I....so i don´t know....^^

  • @kukuhaji no there isn`t, they have the same song because they`re part of Final Fantasy main series

its not unusual for Final Fantasy to share a similiar songs, because they share the title and they have the same music composer from FFI to FFXIV .....except FFXII and FFXIII

  • @TheTerrorOfDeath71

i would say there's not an official connection, but all similarities between FF I and FF IX, although made as astistic references, makes FFIX being a direct sequel to FF I quite possible.

Again, i know that has never been confirmed, but it is the way i see these two titles connection.

  • @kukuhaji None whatsoever. But I suggest buying it. If you have an original DS (Yay for me) get the GBA version. If you don't have that but you have an iPod touch, get that version.

  • wow never played this but this certainly is the one from ff9...the song i mean

the song is the same in 9 as it is in 1 ...just leave me alone!

  • I played FF I before I played FF IX, but I forgot this, then I played FF IX, then this again, and I'm thinking, "This sounds familiar..." then I realize it's in FF IX...

  • What level should my Red Mage, Warrior, White Mage and Monk be for Terra Cavern, I am on normal mode on Final Fantasy Origins.

  • @Timentio6 All about LV 25 for defeat the "Lich" i guess. My Party was between 25 and 30 and i had no problems :D

  • im suprised they brought this back in ff9 :)

  • FF9 remix >>>

  • YOU DO KNOW THAT THIS Is the music if the Earth Gift Shrine/Gurgu Volcano/Hellfire chasm/Cavern Of Earth

  • @SetsunaAndKonoka14

YOU DO KNOW THAT THAT is the official name of the song on the soundtrack

  • @NARFNra -_- so i do know that its very cool so :P

  • this is the gba version but i love both :]

  • This isn't FFI. This is the re-release. Stop pretending this lame shit is the original.

  • @CaribDevist You failed to point out who's "pretending" this is the original soundtrack. Because of this, you're just trolling out of your ass because "PSP" and "20th Anniversary Edition" aren't in the title or tags, and this IS Final Fantasy 1. And yes, we know this isn't the NES original; albeit the father console and maintaining a HUGE nostalgia-factor, the NES was not capable of such complex audio clarity or data. So that's that, and fuck you. Music's better in this version.

  • @RyleyAshford stfu

  • @CaribDevist Ad hominem, a situation in which the argued person has no other arguement and must resort to insulting attacks like a child just to get a response in. Way to bring it back, Carib.

  • @RyleyAshford Thanks, professor.

By the by, it's spelled, "argument."

  • @CaribDevist Strawman! My lord, you cannot keep on topic, can you? You must have the attention span of a goldfish! Stick to the "argument" at hand, thank you regardless for the spelling correction.

  • @RyleyAshford I am taking you seriously.

  • @CaribDevist Likewise, friend.

  • lol i had strawberry's and cream when i got hilda garde lol great part of ff9 i know this is ff1 lol

  • Between Nobuo Uematsu and Leonard Bernstein, I'll never need to masturbate again, because their music makes me orgasm.

  • @psychobugler DUDE HAHAHA

  • Comment removed

  • This is terrific!

The Gulug track from FFIX was always one of my favorites but this is just as good : )

  • sounds same as ff9 gulug volcano

  • Well, FF9's Gulug Volcano is a remix of this.

  • AWESOME...similar to Terra Cavern in Origins

  • this song sounds like one of chrono cross

  • The original. I need it D:

  • One of the best songs from any final fantasy

  • yes it is dipshit

  • Yeah, FFIX's "Mt. Gulug" was supposed to be named Mt. Gurgu as a wave hello to FFI (because if you noticed, IX has a reference, wave, or easter egg from every FF before it.) but, thanks to localization teams.... >: (

  • How about ff8? does 9 have an ff8 reference?

  • The only FFVIII reference i recall is at the end during the play scene. One of the characters says something along the lines of "let no cloud nor squall drive us apart"

  • AWESOME!!!,

  • "No cloud, no squall shall hinder us!"

  • There are three FF8 references in FF9. Someone already said about the line, "No cloud, no squall shall hinder us! Then there's also Darkside and Draw-like skill.

  • yes

    right at the end

  • Heresy in teh music Pandemonium

Reference to Squall in a theater Play

Premonition/Succecion of Wiches in the fight againts Trance Kuja

  • i'm found of this music

  • or Mt Gulug in FFIX is from Gorgu Volcano in FFI, ;)

  • I liked to just sit in the entrance of the Earth Cave for a while just to listen to this song! Same with Matoya's cave now that I think about it.

  • I'm the same way with the Chocobo theme in FFIV. :D

  • And I'm the same with the Black Chocobo Theme in FFV.

I just sit and wait for the "HUH!" part. Then I go kill ExDeath.

  • @ArtGirl140 yes i used to do that too i would just set the gameboy down and listen to this

  • hurts...with...every....step! *ouch* hot!

  • reminds me of black mage for some odd reson.

  • I used to sit in the cavern and listen to this tune when i was younger. (on the origins version which included 1+2 for ps1)

  • This is also heard in the Earth Cave dungeon on the game.
