  • I heard about the IHE Charlie and he was very funny especially when he was trying to get people to get involved (bossy James :D).

I love his column for this week where he's added a gallery of some of the plasticine Porsches that have been submitted (there was no way I was going to even attempt to create one myself). His award captions are so funny.

It was great to see My Sister's Top Toys again too on Sunday.

For those who haven't seen it on the Chelsea Flower Show site is the garden plan.

  • So did i, I made buttercups and Tulips :D James may is way to cool.

  • I looovveee James May. He is awesome. And funny, and a total kid at heart. He's making a life size lego house (I WANNA JOIN IN!!) .

  • How about bat flowers which have peltals in the shape of bat wings? And it shall be named battus natualus

  • Does plasticine melt if it's a really hot day? If so I hope that we don't get a heatwave and 90 degree temperatures, especially if he's got to be in a marquee.

Hey I've just realised that his garden will be one of the only ones (even the only one) at Chelsea which is hayfever friendly 8) :). Yay.

  • Yes I know ... it's easy ... you just need money and international connections and your good as gold.

  • Though truth be told ANYTHING can be solved with money and international connections

My marriage has been made up by money and international connections for a start.

If you don't have that then I suggest will power and caffeine

    Good luck.

BTW ( or PS or whatever ) if you have time try spraying it with perfume and spraying water on it.

My sister would do this all the time with her creations ... well mostly by accident and not always with water

    X_X

  • waste of comment

  • eh what's wrong with it?

only cos I have money and international connections and you don't

    I smell envy

  • i smell a noob

  • well thats probably you because you've failed to get money and international connections.

I'm going to stop with this now because it's already getting annoying.

  • james may was born to do TV,i love this guy :)

  • well u could make a cannabuis plant and have real bud on fake stalk then the judges will get a shock u get em high and u score goes into the sky :)

  • I love James May

  • No ones responded...

  • TULIPS!!!

And to make them prettier - get two different colours (thinking of tulips in the garden... red +yellow) of plasticine and sorta squidge them together (get the two colours of plasticine - make the pieces about 3-5 mm thick - put one on top of the other and squidge - fold together in half - random squidgy - you get the picture) to make a funky swirly marble fusion of colour

    Will be soooooooooooooo pretty

    :)

  • lol, the best one gets plasticine! >>> ummmmm maybe u can ask a cake decorator (eg. duff from Ace of Cakes) cos the do similar making flower things, ony with icing/marzipan, so they may know some techniques! Hope it helped. KiTa XXXXX

  • left blank 2 by the noveltones

  • Left Bank, not Blank, you retard.

  • Left bank 2 by the NovelTones yeah?

  • Sorry i got somthing wrong, wopps im only human.

  • That sounds a great idea, good luck mister May and all who enjoy plasticine!

  • The music, for those that have asked, is The Noveltones - Left Bank Two and was used over the gallery of submissions from watchers in Vision On, Take Hart and Hartbeat, all of which were presented by the late Tony Hart.

I tried posting with a link to another YT vid, but it appears that I'm not allowed.

  • I think i got from Windows...

  • Thanks gc, that makes sense. The company who's behind the series have brought in Aardman Animations (who now own Morph, from Hartbeat) to help create the garden.

I wish James good luck and expect that he'll do well on Monday at the Ideal Home Show. I'd imagine that they'll be several people attend.

  • (first message must not have appeared). Anyway for those who don't already know, James is appearing at the Ideal Home Show with plasticine this bank holiday Monday as part of the Toy Stories project.

  • Details on the Ideal Home Show site (can't post the link here)

  • juzzlookin - you're James May aren't you?

  • Hi James.

  • Well... cant you just get a shite load of green plaster scene, roll it all up into medium sized balls, then just say you have made thousands of sprouts, or cabbage's

  • SOMEONE PLEASE NAME THAT SONG!

  • Just make 5000 stems; say they were dandelions and it was windy. I'd quite like some plastecine.... :(

*wishes she was much more creative and artistic and puts thinking cap on*

I <3 James and would really love to help. So will the winner of the plasticine be delivered personally by James then? (well a girl can only wish and dream can't she?)

  • wow i think your best bet is to make them big ones lol, theres a flower called helleborus goldfinch ( google it under images) its a simple big flower you should also buy or make a plastic shaped leaf cutter but one that can imprint the lines of a leaf at the same time, hope it helps
