They love european fashion and they copy them all the time, if you ever follow comtemporary fashion designers in japan. The Louis stores joke was just an exaggeration on how much they love (to the point they'd copy) european fashion. They like to copy americans too, try to dress all the models with Abercrombie's in those teen mags LOL
