This was an episode I had trouble with as well, but, after giving it some thought, I realized that Twilight was being unscientific. She was so focused on trying to prove her hypothesis that she was willing to ignore measurable statistical evidence. Even though there was no explanation for Pinkie's ability, it was an observable phenomenon and that should have warranted more credibility. The level of bias Twilight had was counter-productive to the scientific method.

@WackoSwords This was my thought as well. It's a bit sad that Twilight was portrayed so extremely, and in the end didn't portray the scientific method in the way that it deserved to be represented.

In the lab scene, the reason the pinkie sense wasn't triggering was because she didn't do anything that is known to get the sense to trigger, such as dropping something from the sky. If twilight had simply dropped something, she would have gotten all the data and come up with a proper conclusion.

That was a cool episode about Pinkie Pie. Even earth ponies can have mystical powers. The lesson in taking a leap of faith is nice too. I especaily like Twilight Sparkle evolves into rapidash 19:14.

That's....that's backwards, Twilight. Science would've never gotten off the ground if people didn't "believe" lightning actually existed in the first place.
