D:< God damn, people this is a color glitch, not some stupid fan character, get over it. You know how fucking stupid it is seeing people get pissed off over this video because they think it's a sprite hack?

you can get many different colours depending on how long you do it, you can get bright greenish yellow sonic (longest time) red sonic, black sonic, perfectly green sonic, black green sonic mostly black bit of green sonic many different ones, if your really lucky you can get to see pink sonic ive seen it before it only lasts for a second if you pause the game you can see it

@OverruledDood But if I remember right, you can't use Debug mode on Sonic 2 unless you have a Game Genie. Plus this was recorded from a PC, thus why I say that. I don't mean that someone hacked the colors, I mean that someone hacked the rom to come with Debug mode, or they used a Game Genie rom with it aswell.

It's just a VDP palette bug. The Genesis VDP can display 64 colors on the screen at the same time, which is divided up into four 16 color palettes.

Sprites in the level are carefully laid out so they all use one of the four available palettes currently mapped in the VDP. When you spawn a sprite that doesn't use one of the four palettes, it will either change one of the palettes or use one of the existing ones, which screws up anything else using that palette.
