@clarkgwent But it is! Wobble and Levene are/were PiL. Lydon might have been able to convince himself otherwise but we know the truth. As you yourself say this is much closer to the PiL of old. The guitarist in Lydon's "PiL" just hasn't got that sound. For me Levene was even more important to PiL than even Wobble and I'd contend that the 1st album after Wobble's departure, The flowers of romance was probably their very best and certainly their most musical.
Quote from Wobble:- "I found the experience quite spooky...which too be honest is exactly what I wanted, when I requested the presence of Keith and ‘’the singer’ at the musicport festival, where I did a gig with The Nippon Dub ensemble. Occasionally, during the three songs that we performed, I would glance up at Keith and ‘John’...my God it felt strange, for me it was much more fun doing that as opposed to actually reforming the original line up of pil."
panfart lydon DID NOT write all the lyrics. heres one for you who played drums on carreering on metal box.... if you are the pil man youll know that 1. lydons a prick these days. if someone wants to play a gig as above ... whats the problem. ?
@markusa The reformed pil were brilliant. True the sound has changed but then again John is getting on and his voice isn't the same as it was. Still they were fantastic and I'm glad I was there.
I agree with people saying that this performance is brilliant though - it is, Rotter is great and it's refreshing to hear Wobble and Levene again. The sound is much closer to the pil of old, I just wish I could've been at this show too
and some fell on stony ground- I will prob see Keith tomorrow btw (and apparently he has done stuff w wob recently)

Sounds more like PIL than Lydon's PIL, but I agree that Lydon has the right the name as he has been using it for so many years.
This is just some fun. The guitarist and bass player did make up a lot of the original sound-- Lydon just intoned.
