The vocals blow, they don't have any of the sneering reediness of Ray Davies's voice, and the guitar before the solo is just so fucking weak. @highroadnow Great comment. This is my favourite Kinks song of all - and to say a song is better than Waterloo Sunset and Dead End Street is giving incredible praise. Love the lyrics , though I always feel the tone is downbeat rather than "up yours" defiant. But what always gets me is Dave's guitar sweeps - the most beautifully sad riffs ever played.

In case i lost you, they aren't speaking for themselves, instead they are trying to prove to someone that they don't follow trend, rather then liking something for what it is. Right about the Sacred Mushroom cover, but none from the group formed Pure Prairie League. Larry Goshorn (lead guitar) of Sacred Mushroom took over in Pure Prairie League for Craig Fuller while he did a two year stint in a hospital in lieu of military service. Sacred Mushroom only had one single in '67 and one album in '69. Good group that should have done more!
