  • Blade Runner is still one of my fave films of all time. And probly one of Ridley Scott's better films.

  • its funny how deus ex human revolution it the game version of blade runner in a clear way

  • @maxsteelflex

The original Deus Ex game (made in 2000) was designed by Warren Spector who claims that Blade Runner is one of his biggest influences.

  • What the hell is wrong with Terminator? Don't act like being a fan of Blade Runner makes you high and mighty in regards to film criticism. There's nothing wrong with appreciating films as much for entertainment as enlightenment. I'm fairly sure you enjoy Blade Runner for both of those reasons. So don't hate. I could list dozens of films better than Blade Runner that you probably wouldn't appreciate because they're not as flashy or as otherworldly to appeal to your mainstream sensibilities.

  • @onlychild86 Please list the dozens of films better than Blade Runner?

  • Despite quality... Siiiiiick

  • i've only seen this cut but is the original better?

  • @rsdoomlord Nah the studio made all sorts of creative decisions against Ridley Scott's wishes, The Final Cut is definitely superior.

  • We meet again, 240p.

  • if the bladerunner 2 is going to be like this trailer... it will be shit... this trailer does not capture the essence of bladerunner, it is more in the line of modern day mass spam trailers where they all blur into one, sad mr.scott you were really good once, but since blackhawk you seem to spit out weak stuff...

  • racel looks identical to the one in the original :O

  • I thought Blade Runner was going to be the typicall sci fi film, but it wasn´t, it was so much better, it has something that i look for in the movies: Story and Effects, it deserves to be released in it´s 20th anniversary next year...

  • @rorschach36

    20th Anniversary?? Its 30.

  • La película es mejor que el trailer

Y eso que el trailer es buenisimo.

  • Oops! I just looked up the Bradbury building on Wikipedia and it is now an office building. But still, someone should visit and have "Bladerunner" on their iPad or whatever and see it in the lobby or something.

  • Better yet, someone should see "Bladerunner" in the Bradbury Hotel in Los Angeles in November of 2019. LOL!

  • I think if they make a sequel, they should release it in theaters in November of 2019. LOL! And if you can, watch it in Los Angeles in November of 2019. LOL!

  • @amisven Gaff folding up the orgami, is there to let you know that Deckard was under direct surveilance since the time he first met Rachel. Why would his boss send Gaff to spy on him from the get-go? The answer is because his boss LIED to him about the replicant M.O. and it is important for Deckard to not catch on too quickly. Deckard is supposed to shoot-to-kill without reflection, and Gaff is there to ensure that is what he does.

  • @centurion180ad It implies that Deckard is a replicant himself because they know his dreams. The dremas get implanted as the replicants are created. Gaff folding a unicorn ipmlies what you say but also that he is areplicant himself. It's a signal from Gaff to Deckard.

  • @Zadeass It implies that Deckard's immediate supervisor was spying on HIM, since the first time he met Rachel. Now why would he do that, unless what Deckard was told about the replicant M.O. was the obvious lie that it was, and his boss was ensuring that he hadn't caught onto that lie yet?

  • @centurion180ad The unicorn was something he had dreamt. It had to have been implanted. I agree with the spying thing.

  • how many nexus 6 had Decard killed before this movie?

  • its too bad she wont live but then again who does

  • compare this trailer to the orginal trailer.... hands down the earlier one wins. this is like a parody of a trailer. is this a sign of how far humanity has degraded or just a joke?

  • @TheSankyu99 Neither, but your comment is a sign of how closed minded and ignorant you are.

  • It's great how they used the soundtrack from the Fountain by Clint Mansell in this trailer at 1:11

  • damn that was a dope trailer.. the Clint Mansell song from "The Fountain" matches perfectly here too!

  • more human than human is our motto

  • @theartist124 I haven't seen the DVD extras and be interested in what they say, but my take on the symbolism was that it was a dream, and if Deckard was human then Ganz couldn't have known about it. But he did, and made a little origami unicorn. IMO it is not supposed to be a jump-up-and-down scream and point at it type clue, but rather elude to the possibility. That's my take. But I prefer subtlety.

  • the filmmusic is from THE FOUNTAIN !

  • Sad how shit like Avatar gets more praise than this.

  • @MossyKong lol.

  • @MossyKong

I'm not sure it does...Avatar will not age well, trust me. When technology advances, people will have to focus on the awful script.

Blade Runner is immortalized, because it defined cyberpunk

  • @rrrevan whats cyberpunk?

  • @MossyKong fucking retard....

i bet you like shit like terminator

  • @DisturbedZelda I bet you like shit.

  • @MossyKong

Avatar doesnt have much chance of ageing well. The secret to Blade Runners eventual success, is that its deep and speculative themes were way ahead of its time, which costed it box office numbers but in return allowed it to become a touchstone of the Science Fiction and CyberPunk underground. Avatar was just an unsubtle rehash of the exact same plot and themes that Dances with Wolves gave us 22 years ago.

  • anyone else see the unicorn from Legend at 2:13

    wtf

  • @Rokondrius how to hell he can be from Legend? Legend made of in 1985, Blade Runner in 1982.

  • i like this version but i much prefer the original 1982 narrated version which has a more human theme to it and gives more of an explanation to the viewer ! fair enough this version has a nice twist finale! if they make a sequel which version will they ( or should they!) make a sequel to? they can't have one sequel to both versions since it would be contradictory and one version would be unfair to fans of the version which isn't made into a sequel!

  • This movie destroys Avatar, Tron, Transformers and all the other chicken shit excuses for sci fi these days. Rutger Hauer for me stole the movie with his performance, Ford is terrific, as well as the entire supporting cast.

  • Time To Die!

  • Screw Inception.

  • Impressive the beauty of this movie

  • I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tanhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

  • @theartist124 Thanx! Found it in a sec. The song is Tree of Life from the movie (?) The Fountain, for everybody who wonders.

  • @Wacke666 I knew it sounded familiar. Was listening to The Fountain soundtrack a few days ago as it happens. Cheers man. ^_^

  • what song is used in this?

  • @Wacke666 You can find it on the Soundtrack to the movie "The Fountain".

  • @Wacke666 It's "Death is the Road to Awe", by Clint Mansell. It's on the soundtrack to the movie The Fountain.

  • @Wacke666 This is a piece of Clint Mansell's soundtrack for The Fountain (2006).

Track 9 - Death is the Road to Awe

  • Cube Destination

  • I'm waiting for "Blade Runner: The Second Assistant Sound Editor's Cut."

  • @goback3spaces That's coming out in Blu-Ray later on this month.

  • i renember going to the movies when i was a kid 1 of my favortes futuristic films of all time

  • This film changed my life.

  • @ScarPredator040365

all versions are worth watching and take your own veiwpoint from the real blade runner fan !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ScarPredator040365 The original cut is the best. The book the movie was made from is great. Go read Do Alians Dream of Electric Sheep by Philp K Dick. You will love it.

  • @ScarPredator040365

well, not really. You can watch the orginal version from 1982 on DVD. It´s remastered but Rifley Scott´s Final Version ist by most the BEST Version of Blade Runner. Even more on Blue Ray :-)

  • its really depressing at the end of the movie

  • @rainfaces

Why do you think it's depressing ?

  • I got to watch this movie for philosophy extra credit...

  • This movie's been fucked with more times than Star Wars. Only difference is that each time they fucked with it, it got BETTER.

Final Cut is indeed the best version.

  • I Think its funny how they are still trying to pack adrenaline into a truly "Artistic" film.

  • I'm doing this film as a school film study, it's really interesting (:

    But kinda scary D:

  • pedazo de pelicula conchemimare

  • One of my Top 10 favorite movies of all time and, IMO, the best science-fiction movie ever. Caught the "Final Cut" on the big screen in 2007. F'in fantastic!

  • @ScarPredator040365 both are great here is my rating

    Blade runner theatrical: 8.5/10

    Blade runner final cut: 10/10

  • @ScarPredator040365 The only really bad things about the original are the voice-over and the ending. The voice-over is just not needed, and the ending just doesn't fit the movie at all. The rest is pretty much the same, apart from the hinted idea that Deckard may be a Replicant too, which I think is the one thing that was better in the original; that the battle between Roy and Deckard was a battle between machine and man.

Sorry if that didn't make much sense!

  • Its on iplayer atm if ppl want to watch it.

  • i wish it had a sequel, but a decent one.

  • one werd : Sean fu%$in Young!

  • This trailer is excellent.

  • wake up time to die. why afi did not put that on the 100 greatest quotes bets the hell out of me

  • @poopnut666 I prefer "I want more life, fucker" although I believe they changed it to "father", which I hate.

  • I still watch this on VHS. I really need to buy the DVD. Why another cut, though? Weren't there already, like, 8?

  • The Blu-Ray version of the Final Cut is the best! The look of the movie in HD is so awesome. Looks practically new.

  • woah, they used the music from "The Fountain" !!! hahah, works well though,

  • This film bespeaks Oscars for: All of these categories. Best Special EFX Best Cinematography Best Costume Design Best Art Design Best Screenplay based on a written work Best Score Best Music Best Set Design Best Picture Best Actors Rutger Hauer, Harrison Ford Best Supporting Actors Joanna Cassidy Best Director Ridley Scott
  • Avatar cannot be compared to this MASTERPIECE OF MOTION PICTURE!

  • what's with the music in the trailer?

doesn't the movie have enough good music to pick from?

  • Io ne sono appassionato, quando vorrei vederlo.

  • It's the best movie i've ever seen by far. watched it last night alone with headphones.

i was in another world for about 112 minutes.

"It's too bad she won't live, but then again, who does?"

  • @fendero123 No no no you were still in this world just the year was 2019 and you were in Los Angeles, a city with a population of a hundred million people a the time.

  • It depends on what you mean by "better" - if you want the original, to see it how it was screened with the voice over of Ford in the 80s, then do it. Any movie can be made better with time, budget and CGI. I saw this when it first came out in the 80s while I was at film school, and it was so different to the scif fi of the time. But like all great art, it hasn't aged with time; it's just gotten better. Watch all the versions and you decide for yourself.

  • @ScarPredator040365 - Normally I would agree with you. But the final editing of BLADE RUNNER was more problematic than most - and the studio imposed numerous changes that Ridley Scott did not want. The Final Cut restores it to what Scott intended.

The most obvious improvement is the removal of Harrison Ford's voice over narration - something both Scott and Ford both thought a mistake. Most of the other changes are minor and mostly involve cleaning up the sound and look. No CGI was added.

  • Yea I don't think LA is going to have big bulky monitors, big ass pyramid skyscrapers, and god knows smoking indoors in nine years. Would be awesome in some ways but I don't think so.

  • @WinstonMan1000 - Dick's was a dystopian vision of the future - a post (limited) nuclear war world, in fact. Scott tried to preserve much of that: an LA with dense pollution, acid rain, urban deterioration, genetic mutations, and severe social schism, with the wealthy living in large (pyramid-like) arcologies.

So it's a dystopia, a vision of what LA (and the world) could have looked like. Or might yet still - albeit further in the future. And it set the template for all dystopian films.

  • @iguana1564

Yea it's a really cool movie. It was still very hard to understand watching it the first few times though.

  • I'm buying this edition of it tomorrrow at a nearby-store

  • @ScarPredator040365

The Final Cut is better because it's closer to what Ridley Scott wanted it to be, without any forced narration, blatant explanation of the storyline, or other Hollywood studio interference.

  • @ScarPredator040365 The original cut is by no means unwatchable, and I certainly understand wanting to see the film the way it was originally shown (I've grown tired of the "director's/extended cut" trend myself). In this case, though, I think the "Final Cut" really is the best one. It flows the best, it looks the best (the new color timing is fantastic), and the new effects are mostly very subtle touch-ups to the original shots (unlike, say the Star Wars special editions). Hope that helps!

  • @Nexus6BT Thanks for the info.

  • Hey guys I've realised I've caused quite a stir by the comments I've made, but if you like br I would recormend the anime elfen lied

  • If y dont like cult films do nor watch it. If you do, y are propably wanna like it.

  • Avatar was AWESOME!

    ...in 3d.

after watching it at home..and actually paying attention to more then just the amazing detail and background....i was like..eh. I can do without ever seeing again.

and that was on a dope ass HD flatscreen AND blue ray..

    sniffle...i shoulda never watchd in 3d :(

  • this trailer has too much of a new hollywood touch. poopy-poop

  • avatar is succesfull as an audiovisual masterpiece, as in its day was terminator2, but blade runner is much more than that, its concept as well as the script , the philosophy of life all together has no comparison

  • Actually Blade Runner is not underrated at all, it's a pretty popular movie.

And Avatar was awesome, but it was EXTREMLY predictable and some characters lacked depth and were too cliche-like.

I still enjoyed it, technically it probably is the best movie of 2009 but not because of the story or writing.

  • Yes, that's why it's so deep, the film has so many different levels, that level is essentialy not telling us anything , but is emohasing even more on how human the replicants are, the only reason they are not human is because "we say so" . It also gives the character more depth, how ever it is bot explored enough , personaly I thing Scott should have explored that part of the story even more or just cut it out. Praises but critisims for that idea ,

  • im about to watch this movie now for the first time, can't wait!

  • just got done watching this version of bladerunner...i've never seen blade runner before and i'm amazed at how every movie is a rip off of blade runner

  • outro classicao!

  • to me, Avatar is a sci fi version of Pocahontas. So if you like that kind of thing, well then...heh. But movies like Blade Runner, it's a lost art.

  • @alienorange that the same thing told every one!!! lol

  • I had never seen it before, heard about it before, and knew about it before so when I first went into the theater to see the Final Cut, I was blow away! *claps* best movie ever, EVER!

  • yer id agree with anotherschmoe, i think to do this movie justic likewise with many movies or literature you have to be ready for it, very cool movie though, only recently saw it, couldnt imagine it with narration, cool how its incredibly futuristic in one image then the next it's almost like a 40s detective movie, enjoyed this movie very much so

  • poor trailer. And what's with the annotations?

  • Didn't care for this trailer...

The best science fiction movie of all time!

  • I don't know if this is been previously mentioned, but I find it odd that Clint Mansell's track Tree of Life from the movie The Fountain is the background song in these trailers....

  • What a masterpiece! One of the greatest films ever made and definitely the best sci-fi! The final cut is the best version of it!

  • Does this 2007 version have the narration in it?

  • No.

  • Thanks

  • Fuck Avatar.

  • @angeltosome i love you

  • @angeltosome Thank God somebody finally said it....

  • Damn it, I want to like this movie but all three times I've seen it, at ages 15, 20 and 24 - i still think it's boring. Hope I'll appreciate it next time, cus I do like cyberpunk and neo-noir.

  • @hellspawnds:

It's a great movie to me but I have to be in the right mood when I watch it. For example, it's not a movie I watch when I'm feeling all lively and awake and during the afternoon. I usually only watch this movie late at night when I'm alone when I'm winding down before bed. Not because it bores me, it just sets a better atmosphere for it IMO.

  • I hear you, it's all about mood and setting with some movies. Lost highway (David Lynch) has to be watched alone at night too, preferably when you're a little zoned out, sort of. Otherwise it doesnt do the movie justice , at all

  • Others have said it here already, but I'll say it again....

You MUST see this on Blu-Ray, it is superb.

  • its 2/3

  • Nice! The background music in the second half of this trailer is 'Tree Of Life' from Clint Mansell's score to The Fountain. I love that soundtrack :)

  • i just bought this movie today, AND I WILL WATCH IT.... unless anyone can think of any other movies for me to buy that are better than blade runner,

Godfather maybe. or maybe star wars

  • At least you have good taste in movies! You have the same taste that I do! Here is a movie suggestion for you! Go out & buy John Carpenter's remake of The Thing starring Kurt Russel! A CLASSIC!!!

  • @MrDarkmarius

hmm you know whats a good horror movie?

i personally am not into grose out horror films but i really think evil dead2 is a good one or even drag me to hell(not a classic but still greatness)

  • The Thing was amazing. Kurt Russel is the man no doubt. But i have a question; in this trailer for BLADE RUNNER, why is it that it says "The movie that started it all?"

  • Not sure why! It didn't start the Sci/fi craze that's for sure! It could be argued that the sci/fi craze started in the 1950s. Maybe they mean the cult classic Blade Runner started the Blade Runner cult following, because Blade Runner has a pretty good cult following

  • Because Blade runner was actual a movie that was made in 1982.

since then there has been improvements and 3 more versions came out like 'the directors cut' and most recently 'the final cut'

  • Comment removed

  • @SpartanDfnder

It was a revolutionary SF film of its time, marking the first glimpses of Cyber Grunge, the poverty ridden, grunge futuristic style

  • if you see a movie as an art..than blade runner is real art!

if you see a movie as entertainment than avatar and co is the right choose....

but blade runner is deep ...thats why not everybody enjoys the movie..most people like standard hollywood productions with love storys, standard soundtracks etc.

for me this movie is the best i have ever seen! an artfull masterpiece and this version improved a lot!

  • @andiwand111

i couldn't really see what was so deep about blade runner unfortunately. artful sure but when i comes down to differences between humans and replicates and what makes us human,it seemed shallow. i cant think of how deep something like that can be. i cant think of why its so great please explain. no offense by the way good movie just not too good like i hoped.

  • Wait a sec! Now how old are you? You got to remember that Blade Runner was made during the early 80s. It's a classic! You're not supposed to look for any message in the movie. You're simply supposed to be entertained by Dekkerd's hunt for Replicants & of course be awed by the head Replicant Roy who was pretty dam cool in this movie. . .

  • critics only like movies if there is someing thats not so superficial in them. something for them to figure out and tell others. blade runner was not considered great when it came out cause people just looked at it from that superficial level of just a cop hunting down robots. but over time it was reconsidered because people started finding little mysteries in the movie and thing to figure out, such as is deckard a replicant of a human? and all these other things like what makes us human and all

  • hha ha nerd

  • whats so nerdy about blade runner?

  • Some things to ponder are these:

What is the human experience? Remember how Roy's life, the things he's seen, eclipse anything Deckard has seen or done. He's lived, fallen in love, fought for survival, died.

What is our place in the universe? Could a thinking, feeling being exhibit characteristics more traditionally human than a "real' human?

Clearly, the replicants are very like us. Why then, does Deckard hunt them down so earnestly? How can what he is doing seem less than cold murder?

  • Roy ,He's lived, fallen in love, fought for survival, died. Deckard has also done all those too except for the last one. and plus deckards not a human he is a replicant as shown at the end with the unicorn.

the reason hunting down replicants doesnt seem so bad is possible cause Roy and all them killed 23 people like it says in the beginning. or am i mistaken?

  • Watch it a second or maybe a third time. I also dont liked the movie after the first time. But its getting better and better!

  • @IronMaidenFan1705

ive seen blade runner twice already,

and your right it gets better after a few more viewings.

  • Avatar? The anti-Blade Runner, the first is all special effect,it's the consumerism, the commerciality, the intellectual void, avatar is all Blade Runner want to accuse,a false world, made of concrete, hypocrite, where matter only the appearance and the loneliness advances of equal footstep to the tecnology, avatar is hypocrisy, money and panders ideas.

  • Avatar was good , it's plot was decent but predictable at times , but it is not the best film if 2009 , watchmen and district 9 being better , but blade runner us a master pice , it's strory is essentialy basic a cop Is looking for escaped replicants , but it's is brought to life by the depth of the characters , something avatar should realy learn from

  • @MrAsm195 Plus, the cop is actually a replicant himself - without knowing it! Like Rachel.

  • @MrAsm195 There is absolutely no connection between Avatar and Blade Runner. As for the depth of the characters - how many characters in Blade Runner were fully developed? Were there any at all? The movie is driven by ideas and one of them is that we are losing our humanity, which was showed thanks exactly to the characters - none of them really seemed like fully fleshed out human beings, especially when compared to the replicants.

  • @MrAsm195 words of wisdom.

  • @MrAsm195 Well I loved Avatar.

  • REALLY want to see this movie... when I get a better internet connection, is there any place that I could watch it online? Or maybe I'll just rent the Final Cut DVD... but there's no way my parents would let me watch a rated R movie due to their bullshit rules. <_<

  • there is only brief topless scene-its Zhora getting dressed-not sex.The love scene is more suggestive-not explicit

The violence is not very explicit either(euro cut a little bit more)

try those points with your folks-

  • There's ambiguity within the story - Mystical and familiar. That's what gives this movie longevity. Other films over-explain. This one will always flow like poetry.

  • I see a 100x50 pixel video... Welcome to the 21st century. One face equals one pixel...

  • Still makes Dark Knight,The Matrix and Avatar look...boring

This film Along with Star Wars,A L I E N,and Raiders of the lost Ark are THE state of the art

  • Yes, very underrated. I think one of the best films of all-time.

  • @deckard97 Don't forget The Terminator. Forget fancy CGI effects, the stop motion used for the skeletal Terminator looks perfect! (Although its sequel is one place where CGI is used flawlessly)

But yes, I completely agree. The late 70s and all of the 80s were the best time for movies. Ever.

  • What "the film that started it all" supposed to mean? Started what?

  • A university project is looking for participants in a study of Blade Runner. Please visit my profile for more info and for a link to the survey.

Please do not mark as spam. This is a university study of THIS film. Thanks!

  • This movie, from clips I have seen, looks and feels a lot like Fritz Lang's Metropolis.

  • Blade Runner, my favorite film!

This trailer makes it seem more action-packed and exciting than it is though, it's not even needed though, anyone who wants to watch this film, already has ;D

  • The Final Cut is amazing. I have the regular DVD version (don't have a BluRay player) but it just looks and sounds amazing even on my HDTV. One of the best looking DVDs I've seen and that's really saying something for a 1982 movie. The details and colors, darkness etc. really pop in the Final Cut and you can just spend hours going back and staring at the imagery and backgrounds of the city, plus the music is amazing. Great movie.

  • The girls voice remembers me of some character of Policenauts or Snatcher... but I can't remember who...

As you should know... well, those games are highly inspirated in this movie, they are even better games of the movie than the official game XD

  • Lmfao, Snatcher scared the shit out of me as a kid. How much of a Blade Runner rip-off is it? haha

  • According to the beginning of the trailer, it said it was going to be re-released in theaters and on DVD at the same time! That's impossible!

  • This is defiantely one of my favourite films - it is a brilliant movie, one of the best. However, I was disappointed that the final cut didn't change much. There was the additional violence, and some cleaned-up special effects, but by final CUT i thought they'd actually...produce a longer cut, with some of those delelted scenes in place. Oh well, it's perfect as it is. ^_^

  • Deleted scenes are deleted for a reason.
