  • the most beautiful horses i have ever seen. wish i had enough money just to have one. maybe someday.

  • I LOVE THEM ALL

    WONDERFUL HORSES :) :)

  • it doesn't matterwether there common there beautiful

  • RattySoup, common as muck? no shit. As I said, they were killed off and the introduction of the modern caravan and change in technology is whats made them rare. I have not seen a gypsy horse in my family for 100 years so shut the hell up, you are being disrespectful to my family heritage!!

Most gypsies use cars to travel with their caravans not horses.

  • Okay angry man, I think you might need some therapy. This is a horse, not your grandfather. Horses are beautiful animals and loveable also. Your a stupid, stupid, stupid little person. Is that what a gypsy is???

  • Um...how am I being disrespectful when I call them common? They ARE common, there's billions of them over here. If you're going to tell me to shut it at least tell me how I've offended you so. Killed off with modern caravans??? But they're EVERYWHERE Horse sales and private ads are CRAWLING with Irish cobs.

  • true they are everywhere, but alot of piebalds you get at markets are cheap but badly bred, usually by travellers... these videos on here of piebalds are usually well bred and fabulous looking..

  • It's true they are becoming more popular, but the true breed is not all that common, a lot of those sale ads you see are half bred horses, or something of the like, some do not even contain a drop of Irish Cob blood, I've seen plenty of shire or clyde horses crossed with paint horses for sale claiming that they're Gypsy Vanners, just cheap backyard breeders trying to cash in on the Gypsy Vanner wave.

  • UR SOOOO TRUUUE!

  • Warmbloods are the most inbred, ugliest over tempered, spoilt show rotten brats. Infact, thoroughbreds are probably the most inbred of all horses, why do you think the gypsy vanner has the loveliest of temperment? and why is it that warmbloods over react, and are bad tempered? Because its inbred...

and fashion accesorry? oh please, these horses have been bred for hundreds of years to work, not for fashion.

These dumb-bloods are fashion bred, know your facts before you post up snut comments.

  • RattySoup, you clearly have no idea about gypsy vanner horses. I am a gypsy, i come from a family of gypsy travlers. Gypsy travlers were seen as pests so when people killed them off, they killed their horses too, and when the modern caravan was introduced their was no use for them anymore, infact their are very few traditional gypsy families left. These horses are rare, they are seen as useless and their is a difference between a 'cob' which is more common and a gypsy vanner that is rare.

  • I LOVE GYPSY VANNERS SO MUCH!

  • i totally love gypsy cobs i would love one but ive already got a welsh d and clydesdale

  • I agree with you! We have the same problem with popular breeds of dogs and cats, too. Plus, a lot depends on where you live. I live in a very upscale county, and any horse sold here is going for twice the price of what it would bring if it were being sold 100 miles away. As they say, A fool and his money are soon parted.

Animal breeders and sellers need to be more honest, if not for the sake of the buyers, then for the sake of the animals themselves.

  • Hate to break it to you Americans but you are being ripped off or lied too. "Irish cobs", as we call them, are cheap and common as hell in Britain...so common they often go as meat. You can buy one for a few hundred pounds at a sale. Rip off merchants are buying them for peanuts and then selling them in America with extra zeroes added. You could buy one here and have it shipped to America for less than you buy "Gypsy Vanners" in America. There is nothing romantic or rare about them.

  • Well, hate to break it to you, but in my travels, I've seen a pretty price paid for mustangs, American Quarter Horses, Chincoteague ponies and so-called "Nokota" horses by Europeans! Must be the allure of anything purchased "over the pond." Anyway, I'd rather own a Gypsy or Irish Cob at any price than an overpriced, overbred Euro warmblood. Those "dumbloods" are really over-rated.

  • Theres a difference between overpaying on a "foreign" animal and believing some bullshit made up story about the history of the true gypsy vanner which is apparently different from the common Irish cob. Which is bollocks. At the moment the "Gypsy vanner" is little more than a fashion accessory started by some savvy horse importer. Whats even worse is horses are being overbred and going for meat because of this, and Irish cobs are being stolen from their owners all over the UK.

  • I'm not saying there's anything wrong with them as horses. They can be very sharp as cobs tend to be but generally have good conformation (at least up until the latest spate of overbreeding) and usually they can give everything from dressage to jumping a good go in the right hands. They are however, common as muck. yes, quarter horses tend to go for a bomb over here, as do Friesians...again because they are seen as the "fashionable" horses to have. Status symbols, not living, feeling animals.

  • Of course importing is expensive you have to pay for the horse to be shipped to your country. So a cheap horse bought from europe will cost more when you add the fee of getting the thing over seas. I find people grating on GV's also find Friesians useless fluff balls and own some sleek thoro or warmblood. Maybe people like other looks you know and personally I find the warmbloods and thoro kind of generic sometimes they look the same.

  • I'm not into warmblood or tbs either...and I love Friesians AND gypsy cobs. I'm not grating on THEM I'm grating on the false hype and bull that surrounds them. Its like anything else, horses go in and out of fashion and end up suffering for people's taste. importation is pricey, I tried to find out about importing a horse from the US it was going to cost 3000. But u can pick up a "vanner" at the sale for 500 easy, but they still charge into 5 figures for them in US. B cheaper to import yourself.

  • Quelqu'un siat comment s'appelel cette race en français ?

  • Acctually Gypsy Vanners are usually around 14-14.2 hands and yes they are very expensive.

  • not in england theyre not, if you buy them from hill breeders or gypsies, i got offered one at appleby for £500, and the hill breeder im looking at buying a youngster from will be a max of like £700 for a 2yr old, compared to other horses theyre as cheap as they come, and can grow to up to 15.2 n be as small as 13hh

  • You can get a 52 inch plasma screen off a gypsy in England for £50

  • Gypsy Vanner in not offical horse breed in Europe. It´s called Irish Cob.

  • Can you imagine a gypsy vanner in a parade or ceremony with a Lakota Sioux in full regalia? They look spectacular when riding their paints, but can you only imagine. I would give anything for a picture of that. Wanbly Tashina (Eagle Shawl)

  • Beautiful, you found some great pictures. Gypsy Vanners are part of my heritage and ancestry so of course I love this vidio. Great job.

  • I have 2 gypsies for sale--a weanling colt and a yearling filly if your interested
