  • the best 4X4 ever made

  • Bang on !

  • awesome video mate. I lived in Perth for a while and had a diesel 60 while I was there, used to frequent the Mundaring powerlines, always good fun up there. Love your Defender and choice of music!

  • @fetish5800 Oh thanks mate. You are the first person to appreciate the tune as well as the vid. Where are you living now? Any good tracks where you are?

  • @timzp Yeah mate, moved back to Sydney, there are some great tracks over this way, pretty technical and a lot of mud and clay. I just have a petrol Prado now, miss the Cruiser but had to compromise with my missus as we have a family now and she didn't want something as big as the Glandbruiser for parking at Woolies etc..

Gotta go about an hour out of Sydney to get some seriously tricky tracks but they're awesome.

  • I want a Defender !!!!!!!!!! PLEASEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

  • strong LR

  • Nice Driving and nice car!Do you have Axle Lockers or did you use the brake?

  • I'll be moving to Perth from the US around about Mid June of this year. I am looking at the Defender to buy when I arrive. I'd like to have a chance to get a look at how much fun these things can be (like you seem to do), before I buy one. Any chances you guys might be in a club or something with some online site?

  • @crsf29 My friend I would be more than happy to take you out for a trip. Hit me back nearer the time and we can meet up. Thanks for your comment. I am not really a club person so just message me through here or leave a channel message and I will arrange.

  • @timzp Hi I wish to get myself into defender ownership but not sure which one to get 90 or 110??

I like to get the new 2.2 but not sure if it's good ? Or the 2.4 better. TD5???

Can someone hint me where I can get comments??? Thanks.

  • @willis36clone Depends who you ask mate. But I am not too sure on the latest models. All I can say is that I love my TD5.

  • @crsf29 honestly dude iv grown up with landrovers all my life in north scotland...dont do it. there over priced, over rated and unrelieble. landcruiser all the way.

  • Awesome vid, great driving and cool camera work.... the Defender is a great rig also.....

I normally find that people who slag off Land Rovers have never owned one themselves so really have no idea what they are talking about.... I've owned every model of LR except a series 1. I'll never buy anything else cos they're simply brilliant. :-)

  • @vampyresteve Hey mate. You raise a very good point. Totally agree. Cheers for taking the time. :-)

  • @timzp nice lr my familie owns 2 laro a freelander very good offroad car ass wel and a old disco the mackanices found it imposebol that the disco is still driving the moter is messed up and stil running

  • @jurgenhop1 Hi Jurgen. You will never kill a Disco mate.

  • Wow, ace driving. LSD's or Lockers? A few spots you could have easily gotten stuck but picked just the right line, IMHO. Defenders always look like they're gonna tip over, though, ha!

Nice ride, haters gonna hate, but that looks like a blast. Nice vid!

  • jeeps are gay

  • @flight2k5 totally. Unless they are heavily modified

  • @flight2k5 Where do you think Land Rover got the idea? The first Land Rover was a custom body on a Jeep chassis.

  • @l337pwnage whats your point?

  • @flight2k5 therefore, you must think land rovers are gay too, of course maybe you do. Their histories are tied. Or, maybe you're just jealous.

  • @l337pwnage Todays land rovers are far from the same as jeeps. I drive a unimog so I'm not jealous of either.

  • @flight2k5 And yet you felt compelled to comment, lol.

  • @l337pwnage i sure did. I can't stand jeeps and i felt the desire to comment. I think you'll live.

  • @flight2k5 I will most definitely live, and I thank you for the entertainment. ;)

  • That looks like a LOT of fun

  • Wow, respect for defenders + 29.

  • @adam3916grant Thanks mate

  • video was great but would have been better without the music...

  • @123marcooooooo Agreed

  • Perfect to break your back for one week :D

  • I dont think you'll see a BMW anywhere near that track...... lol.

  • Proud to be a Defender 110 td5 sw driver, tell me you must have traction control on her as she's coping well with some beautiful cross axles.

  • i wonder if i could drive one on the road in alabama

  • @njerezit Of course you can.

  • i would love to own a landie i have a willys 56 but would love to have a defender....

  • @dodgedakotafan ahhh and nice video

  • @dodgedakotafan Thanks mate.

  • @dodgedakotafan Wow man. Willys rule. I love the older trucks. Sounds like a classic

  • @timzp yeah it is very solid needs some paint and some other things for be perfect but it has been a work truck for so long time it is bone stock exept it has been converted to hydraulic direction

  • anyone having a hard time with my comment? i can explain. probably in three languages. english, italian and albanian. albanian would probably be the best.cuz is my native langauge.

    thanks

  • @njerezit Its all good mate. Understood and agreed with. Thanks

  • i don`t think there is another car in the planet, with wheels that can do all that crazy stuff.

i drove a land-rover defender in iraq. i think that was the best experience of off road cars.

LAND ROVER IS NO 1 OFF ROAD 4X4

  • @njerezit Agreed. Thanks for the comment

  • @njerezit Try telling that to a dumb ass Jeep owner!!

    Thanks brother

  • Good un,

  • Well done man after my own heart, man and machine as one!

  • what light forces do you have? 170 or 140

  • @chrisbest1000 170's matey

  • standard defenders are not too good crawlers. main enemy of their is diagonal crossings. yes it is strong build (maybe the rear axle holders need a bit more toughness) but overall very good car.

  • That is some very good driving skill :)

  • @WayneBurgess1 Thanks pal

  • Very Cool!!!!! I'd rather be doing that on the weekends than working.

  • ONE LIFE. LIVE IT. (DI 300 Tdi user) ;)))

  • Axles are 3 piece press fit affairs and suck and not full floating on the rears unless it's a Dana 44 and still 3 piece. Rovers are 1 piece with removable pinion (very nice) also offset inline where Jeep is centered rear and offset front. Rover has parking brake on tailshaft where it should be if you want to park offroad as it locks up the whole truck not just the rear brakes as the Jeep. There are tons of differences. Rover has the best offroad chassis period.

  • @chuckstrek03 Sorry but you are mistaken about the parking brake on land rovers. The parking brake only stops the rear driveshaft turning. It does not stop the wheels so if on a slippery hill the vehicle starts to slide one rear wheel can turn backwards while the other wheel rolls down the hill. the front wheels do nothing unless the center diff is locked. Jeeps lock both rear wheels solid. I drove and owned land rovers for 15 years but I bought a new JK Unlimited and I will Never look back.

  • 2 YJ's 2 TJ's 3 XJ's...TJ actually does very well in the articulation department, but the swing arms are half the length of the Rover and stamped steel rather than solid. steering box, oil pan, t-case and fuel tank hang down as well as shock mounts. Rover everything is tucked out of the way. Jeep uses a 2.72:1 chain drive case and the Rover a 3.55:1 gear drive. No slip joints on the driveshafts on the Rover like Jeep uses. Prob with this is if you break a u-joint you lose all your transfluidlol

  • Liveridge is going to build me a 25 year old 110 on a galvanized chassis and bulkhead updated to 300tdi specs, R380 rear disc brakes new interior ect... Only option since it has to be atleast 25 years old to import, have to rebuild one. I have a 98 D1 LSE7 and a 03 D2 SE7 as well as a 69 Series 2A 109. A Defender is the beast I need since we are outgrowing the Discos and I want a turbo diesel. Great trucks if you need the capability. Jeeps can't touch them, I've owned them all...

  • @chuckstrek03 Wow man. I wouldnt mind seeing some pics of your beast when it finished.

I liked the older Jeeps when they werent made of tin but I dont rate them now. Unless they are only used as a commute vehicle with wank factor. Still that said I think that Jeeps are still heaps better than Hummers!!!!Now that is a wanky vehicle.

  • @timzp my jeep would ass rape this tall as motherfuckin soccer mom suv any day all day..... Look at how stupid tall it is, if you straddle a 3 degree incline sideways then you would roll.

  • @98MAzdaMilleniaS Im still trying to get your comment converted so I can try to understand what you are talking about. My 14 yr old and my 10 yr old kids cant understand it either. I may have to ask my mates kid who is 8 yrs old. It may make perfect sense to her. And she can convert into adult talk. I'll let you know!

  • @timzp You just got trolled, the jokes on you bro. Oh and there's this little section in the laws of physics called the "center of gravity".

  • @98MAzdaMilleniaS So youre a troll then? Dont you have better things to do? Like go get a job and save up some money for a real car. BRO

  • @timzp Hey BRO, ever heard of college ?

  • @98MAzdaMilleniaS Exactly

  • @timzp Have you tried turning in that thing on the roads ? I can drift around turns because even though I have 9 inches of ground clearance and 40 degree approach angle but my roof is lower than a Dodge Caliber, the best of both worlds....

  • @98MAzdaMilleniaS Your a fucking dick. Drifting in a Jeep. What a tool. I have wasted enough time on you. I can tell by your uploads and comments that you are a fucking tool

  • @timzp P.S you will learn one day, when you grow up and become a man that you dont have to slag of Defenders to make Jeeps look good. One question for you. If you hate Defenders so much why click on the video in the first place????

I have nothing against Jeeps but I would not feel the need to search for Jeep videos and insult the owners to make my ride seem better. Grow the fuck up.

  • @timzp Hey I can put an exhaust on my car because it doesn't have a piece of shit boat anchor for an engine and have the power to weight ratio of a Suzuki Sidekick.... How can you go around a bend without rolling over in one of these 4wd hotels ?

  • @98MAzdaMilleniaS The TD5 is one of the best engines ever made. Youre a idiot. I have a 1970 ElCamino with a 350 chevy V8 that I can use the blast around in that would leave your piece of shit in a cloud of smoke. Fool. You are one confused individual

  • @timzp - Best engines? If that were true I would still own one. I got sick & tired of my well maintained 1999 TD5 breaking down on trips. The car went from my dream car to the car of my nightmares. After a while of spending serious money repairing the motor (engine looms), I just lost all faith in it for the type of places I wanted to go and camp. I now drive an NT Pajero 3.2 tdi and love it. BUT........I still have a soft spot for the Fender.

  • @timzp thats a strange reply to your own comment

  • @denismoloney27 Yeah I am not quite sure what happened there.

  • @timzp Do you have sway bar disconnects ? Because there is points in this vid where that would have helped you.

  • Comment removed

  • Great video showing the massive articulation and ground clearance of a 110. I've owned a lot of Jeeps and switched to Discoveries years ago. No hang up spots, brilliant chassis design. My Discoveries go places the Jeeps worked hard to get to with ease. In the U.S we got short changed on the Defender but I'm getting a 300tdi 110 built right now in the UK. Good to see it's even better than the Discos with a little wheelbase and height and that diesel just idles along. What song is that you used?

  • @chuckstrek03 Hey thanks mate. The song is Sinner by Drowning Pool. I regret putting the song over the engine sound but it seemed like a good idea at the time.

  • Just had to say, First class. Great to see it being put through its paces.

  • @rcBitz Well thank you.

  • hay Mate. is this TD4 or TD5??

  • @herflikdd TD5 bro

  • Are you using low range, 2nd, difflock?

  • @WooV8 None of that. Normal driving mode, no diff lock. Just traction control

  • im surprised it didn't break down.... haha

  • @Dragunov302 Only petrol Defenders break down :) this td5!

  • @Dragunov302 ha

  • @timzp jeep driver???

  • @Dragunov302 ha

  • Shows how capable the defender is even with minimal modifications such as AT tyres and a good driver. great vid mate.

  • @pinkacidboots7 Thank you.

  • amazing

  • bravo

  • more footage of the girl at :12 please

  • The best model of Landrover ever built and exceptionally well driven. Makes a nice change from the usual Youtube rubbish.

  • @24765968 Thank you

  • now that is what i call OFFROAD capabilities of a 4x4...brilliant!!! please take over the presentation of other 4x4's

  • @24765968 Couldn't agree more. No trashing of machinery or environment and I'm no greenie just slightly more sensible in my old age. Damage = money.

  • Nice Video mate, good to see the expedition rack on the 110 too, I haven't seen many in WA like that

  • @harta4j Hi mate. Yeah the Expedition rack is the only one that looks good in my opinion. I had to import it from the UK at great expense but well worth it. Thanks for noticing.

  • Great vid, really shows off how advatagious traction control + center diff lock is.

  • @RustBucketist Thanks mate.

  • The perfect 110 :)

  • Very nice video, but it could be different music, after all I like it. Where this video been taken?

  • @mohaldan Agreed on the music. It seemed like a good idea at the time. This was shot at the Mundaring Powerline track just about 50 kms East of Perth West Australia

  • I'm so tired of clicking on vids and they have this type of music....I would rather just hear the motor and the vehicle working hard.

  • @martyman5000 Agreed.

  • Nice ass at 0.13 lol good vid too cool machine

  • @Hannible100 Thats my daughter dude

  • shows traction control does work then

  • @landie68rover For sure mate. Works just fine

  • I want to hear the Td5 not this shit..

  • @proline1240 Agreed.

  • looks like its got alocking diff so not standard and less stoppable !!

  • @vitamingrin1 Central diff locks are standard on this model. However I have not engaged it on this video

  • @timzp fairplay then

  • @vitamingrin1 Looking at your profile page mate. We have a lot in common.

  • @timzp yes, except im envious of your terrain - and your open diff abilities , lol more practice for me :)

  • @vitamingrin1 Plus we both prefer the original Gone in 60 Seconds. We are a rare breed. Respect!!

  • @timzp lol,its cratorface and mach1 everytime - though i do prefer the shelby - except the gay taillights ,lol

  • @vitamingrin1 Thats the only thing wrong with the Shelbys. They loose the best looking rear lights that Mustangs had. The 67-68 concave back panel was a thing of beauty. I had a 68 fastback before I got married and my father has a 71 yellow fastback that looks just like Eleanor.

  • @timzp sweet, choice rides mate..i had the celica st fastback mustang lookalikey instead, been jappers ever since .

though im hankering for a v8 - prob be lexus lol

  • Most 4wd's are good in the hands of the right driver.

  • Not bad for a big rig, great articulation, low gear seems perfect too.

The powerline tracks are rutted out 10x worse than this now - even the chicken tracks are becoming hard to avoid a bit of fender bending. The bigger fourbies really struggle here nowadays unless they're modded to the hilt. My Sierra can still bang through the track, but it's light and nimble and I don't care if it takes a hit or two.

Love the Defenders though, they're the best looking fourby out there I reckon.

  • @kidsilvester Yeah I was there after the major rain we had a few months back. The place was hardcore with most cars getting bogged. Myself and a mate with a Patrol cruised it pretty much start to finish.

  • Awesome. Thanks

  • when i saw the title of this video, i thought this are going to be shit. but this was really impressive!

  • @Drummerohnezahl Thank you

  • @timzp bloody good vid lad !

  • Fantastic video! I'm going to subscribe...

Hopefully there is a lot more Land-Rover related stuff coming.

Seems like a very good driver, by the way. Or is it just the UNSTOPPABLE defender.

  • @LandRoverTeun Hi mate. Thanks for your positive words.

I think that even the Defender would get stuck pretty quickly in the hands of a fool so I guess the combination of a good driver in a unstoppable Defender are... well um...Unstoppable

  • Comment removed

  • a video of a dickhead driving

  • @extremecrossover Thanks mum

  • @Templar685 Depends what your driving. I didnt use diff locks anywhere in this video.

  • @timzp Not only central diff lock . This Defender has traction control or similar. You can see it in action at 0:43.

If not present when you cross-axle the wheel starts to spin in the air and you get stuck.

  • i what year did they start making traction control

  • @extremecrossover in the year 1565

  • i thinl the cameras man stole the show not the car.. wow.. does he make movies !!!

  • @extremecrossover Yeah buddy. He also films animal based pornos

  • @timzp you go to aulro much..

  • @extremecrossover is that that big monolithic rock near Alice Springs? No

  • this was nice, i like that defender, all you need now is a brush guard with a winch, and that would complete the look

  • J ADORE..............

  • Nice Defender, bit newer than mine hehe :)

  • Wooow man, you really know how to drive !

  • Did I see you driving up Wanneroo Road, near Joondalup Drive 25/09/11? Top driving by the way. But why does everyone use thrash metal as a soundtrack to off road and motorbike vids.

  • @aliwoh Hi mate. No wasnt me. If I could remove the music I would.Seemed like a good idea at the time!!! Thanks for your comment bro!!!

  • Soundtrack? BTW, really nice video ;)

  • Indeed - one of the best Defender videos out there - You've got someone who obviously knows how to get the Defender to do what it was made to do - serious 4x4 skills on display - thanks!

  • @unclefredb3 Crikey!!! Thanks for the compliment buddy.

  • @brackipas Brilliant

  • love it

  • you are right. this is the best vid. of defender I've seen. How good is the defender straight out of the box? Toyota fans- eat shit

  • @brackipas thanks matey its nice of you to say. But lets not start a war against the Japs on here. Those dudes never give up and never surrender.

  • That is awsome ! Defenders are just supposed to be offroad ! those suspension shots are epic ! nice video :)

  • @justtocause You are right. My Defender gets a bit grumpy sat on the driveway or driving on the tarmac. But it seems to have a little grin when it gets off road ;-)

  • oha richtig geil, des Teil is echt derb dazu gehört aber natürlich auch der gute Fahrer hinterm Steuer.

  • @ragitman1

Translated..... oha really cool, that part is really tough but it is of course the good drivers behind the wheel.

Thanks for the comment friend. Nice of you to say

  • driver A class

  • @isivsiva Wow thanks for your comment. I think the car can make a bad driver look good!!

  • Best video mate.! there is nothing better in the world than a defender in its element! that Landy loves its owner. Land rover...learn it, live it, LOVE it.

  • The rover in its right element <3

  • @chissi100 Like a pig in shit.

  • @timzp Hahaha definitely!

  • Is it Stock ?

  • @Betopillo

    In this video yes.
