  • I caught a croaker today, my first one. I was really surprised when I heard it making noise! I'm used to catching pinfish, so this was quite a treat =). Btw, do you have any tips so that I can keep catching croakers?

  • @SoulConstruct Dead shrimp, and a small hook fished off the bottom will catch you plenty of these.

  • thanks for sharing. I have been catching them but they never seemed to croak.

  • Those damn things get annoying when you've got a cooler full of them on your boat.

  • lol if it croacks means they are mad andwanna bite!

  • when u hold them they stick ur finger and it'll hurt liek hell

  • Watch those slippie sloos.

  • Period.

  • good catch dude.. but remember the worm..

  • They call them "Croakers" because they say, "CROAK!"

I'm just not sure how it's possible to eat a talking fish? First time we caught one on a pier in New Orleans, I almost jumped in the water; freaked me out. No way I could eat a talking fish.

    :-)

  • I was in the bay so no sharks there, but they are good for catching big trout. Out hammerhead sharks like mullet too.

  • u should of slit the sides with a filet knife hook on to rig and catch a shark or a gar

  • not bad im 16 years old and my parents like to fish at Bushwood down ST.Marts and my biggest was about 19.5 between bowie 1 and 2

  • big whoopdie fuckin doo

  • that fish in my country its called corvinon you have to be very careful if you eat it because it has the same worm tht has the pig and it can kill you

  • Ive been eating them for years.. Maybe thats why one of my legs is growing longer tha the other. :-)

  • @DrJLo08

    lol!! ahhahahaha

  • @paulopreis1001-I highly doubt the fish you are reffering to is the same;Possibly same Phylum. They do have worms, most fish do one time or another.Croakers wont kill you...lol

  • @paulopreis1001 Gotta watch out for those worms. You never know which one contains a lethal pig!

  • those are really fun to catch up in the chesapeake. just this past weekend i caught an 18 incher.

  • 18 incher? Great catch, that's near record size. It will sure make you a hero with your fellow fisherman for the night.

14" is a good size fish. They fight hard. They are good eatin' too, just watch out for all those bones!!

  • whoaa where is that record at. in california we catch 24'' on a regular basis.

  • I'm talking about on the East Coast. I know around here anything over 20" is considered a BIG croaker.

You are lucky to be able to catch big ones all the time--croakers taste really good IMHO! They are fun to fight too.

  • ohhh alright. wow. i didn't know they were in the east coast. and yes, they are very hard fighters, they love to run under the pier and cut your line on the mussels. but thanks for the info.
