Gives new meaning to the phrase "backsliding Christian". ;-) All the way through, it's a excellent talk, especially for those who perhaps once knew but have forgotten what Christians are really like; they're generally not the zealots so often portrayed on television, but rather are humble and of good spirit with good will toward others.
Also, the self-deprecating humor is perhaps a model of self-criticism and self-revisement we all could learn from, even if of slightly different opinion.
Praise the Lord for men who believe what real science has proven to be true.Too many today teach scientism which basically is anti-science or rag science. It's the biggest hoax ever perpetrated on mankind.
@1234doawee There's plenty of evidence, you just don't believe the evidence given. I see fingerprints and assume there was a hand to make them. When an atheist sees the fingerprints of God, he uses all other logic to try and rule out the possibility of there being an all-powerful hand of an Almighty God to make it.
@longtan I think that's where I am a problem with your logic because I think it is very unreliable to assume anything, I would see fingerprints and look at the available evidence and try and find and how and why they they are there. I really dont rule out any possibility of god ever, that would be very arrogant of me, I just have not yet seen any evidence that god/gods existence. Please tell me the evidence you have for God/ gods existence because I am completely open minded.
@1234doawee ultimately it comes down to a choice. I have been researching evolution and creationism non stop for about 2 weeks now trying to find out who has the most reasonable argument, and a great case can be made on both sides, in the end, it won't come down to proof, it's a heart condition. Why don't you do this, just pray every morning, and every night, God if you are real please reveal yourself in my life. And then be open to whatever he may do.
@Symphonious7 Just because you are objective and reasonable, doesn't mean that when you make the choice to believe in God you'll suddenly be able to prove it. It will be more real to you than anything you've ever experienced, and you will know it's right, but you will find that when you start telling people and trying to convince them, you can't do it. God may have invented science, but he works backwards from science, in Christianity believing is seeing, not the other way around
@Symphonious7 there is no both sides, im not being arrogant by saying this its just a fact, the theory of evolution is is evidence based and creationism/Intelligent design is a faith based position. You can have your own opinions but you cannot have your won facts. Furthermore, I dont believe there is a god/gods so why would i prey to one?
@1234doawee That's fine that you believe that, I made the suggestion of asking God to reveal himself to you because it logically makes sense. What do you have to lose by saying "god, if you're out there, prove it to me". If it's not real you will have lost nothing, if it is real you may gain everything. It's just a suggestion. And I don't recall saying you were arrogant, if I implied that somehow it was not intentional, I have nothing against you.
@Symphonious7 Its seem like your asking me to talk to myself? To me saying "god, if you're out there, prove it to me" is the same as saying "fairies, if you're out there, prove it to me". I dont believe either exist meaning id just be a bloke in a room talking to myself?
@1234doawee Fair enough. I believe in full confidence if you honestly sought that, you would find him, but I see that the act of seeking flies in the face of your worldview, and you can't honestly do it in that manner I suppose. I don't know what's in your heart, I don't know what you've been through, if what I'm suggesting is impossible for you, only you would know. I'm just making a suggestion =)
@Symphonious7 Have only ever believed in things backed by science. What do you mean when you say "I don't know what's in your heart??".
its nice to have a cool person on youtube coments its very rare lol :) i suppose this is what makes the world interesting the fact that everyone's different.
@1234doawee Wait... did you just say I was cool? Thanks! You're cool too! And here lies the heart of where you and I differ, you are assuming God isn't real, so you equate seeking him to seeking fairies. I would argue it's nothing like seeking fairies, because fairies are fake, and God is real, but that just puts us right back where we started. I would encourage you to just stay open to the possibility of a God, and go with what makes sense to you.
@Symphonious7 ultimately I can't convince you, it has to come from within yourself. But like I said, I'm not scared that because you don't believe you're going to hell so I have to convince you! I'm not that kind of Christian, I believe it is ultimate arrogance to think you know someone's eternal fate or think you have a hand in changing it. I'm more interested in helping the people who WANT to be christian, do it without hypocrisy.
@Symphonious7 I think Christianity is a now religion, not a "when you die" religion. I hope that you can respect me for my beliefs, even if you don't share them, I respect you for yours.
@1234doawee oh, and what I meant by "what's in your heart" is that the human spirit is a very complex thing, and our experiences cause us to open or close it to certain things. Alot of times painful experiences, or people who mistreated us, cause us to harden our hearts to things without knowing it. I'm saying I don't know what life has been like for you, and what kind of experiences may have affected your worldview.
@1234doawee I feel like I keep telling you that I can't prove this to you through logic and reason and you keep trying to get me to try anyway. To me the evidence of the human spirit is just obvious, plus when you begin to look for the signs of spiritual bondage or spiritual freedom, you begin to see it in the humans around you. When you watch people come to God and witness the freedom they feel, you don't question the existence of the human spirit, but that's not verifiable proof.
@Symphonious7 See 1234, I would have no problems dying and finding out I was wrong. My christian faith helped me in life, it gave me purpose and reason, and it made sense to me, should I find out I'm wrong at the end of all this, I would have no regrets. For me Christianity works, and I believe it more the more I try to live for Jesus and see love and light in the eyes of people around me. I know I'm doing good things, that's good enough for me.
@1234doawee I'm shocked, I actually found scientific evidence of the human spirit, I didn't think I would. For some freaking reason it won't let me send the link, look up "scientist films soul leaving the body" on youtube.
@1234doawee Once again stupid youtube doesn't let me put the link. it's on a site called 2012 changes are now dot com. I don't know how official it is, nor am I saying this is proof of anything. I just thought I'd do a quick search to see if there was any scientific evidence of the soul, and while this doesn't seem to be proof, it is evidence that suggests it exists.
@Symphonious7 its seem completely crazy to me that a god would make it this hard to find out whether he was real? Why arnt we all born with an instinctual knowledge of god that you seem to possess. Its not fair that you have been given this gift and i have not. To be fair i was being disingenuous when asking for the paper, i already know there is no evidence because if there was it would be the biggest story to every come to mankind, like the discovery of the atom or mand landing on the moon.
@1234doawee That statement just broke my heart. I totally understand your point of view, and I wish I had a better answer for you. You've made such a huge impact on me, all I know to do is pray for you every day, your questions are legitimate, your feelings are valid. Why did God choose me? I don't know. I did intensely seek him for years, always believing I would find him. Perhaps if you believe you'll find him you will, and if you don't believe it, you won't?
@Symphonious7 The most important thing I want you to understand about the God I serve, I don't mean what most Christians think of him, I mean the guy that leads me through means that I would not want to disclose lest I sound crazy, but he is not mad at you. And he's not going to send you to hell, he likes that you question, he likes that you're honest with yourself, and he will find you in this life or the next, and make sense of everything.
@Symphonious7 my best advice to you, is just don't worry. Trust that everything will be ok, man... I just want to shoot the holy spirit through you so bad, you wouldn't need proof after that, it feels like coming up to the surface after being underground all your life. Please don't be jealous of believers, walking with God has it's own set of problems. Man... I have just grown to care about you so much... I want to answer your questions so bad...
@1234doawee Hey, have you ever heard of Lee Strobel? He was a devout atheist who set out to disprove God and the Bible through science and reason. The more he searched and studied, the more he began to doubt his theories, until he eventually became convinced the Bible was true and became a Christian. He's written books about what he discovered and why he believes and does seminars defending the logic of the Christian faith, maybe you should look into his work?
@Symphonious7 i hav heard of strobel and i would say he is the poster boy for the biggest 2 logical fallacy used in defending the christian faith, called "argument from ignorance" and "strawman argument". All of his argument are based on probability which he doesnt understand, misrepresents science for his own gain and doesn't lead to any conclusions of god but simple says "its has to because there isnt any other possible explanation. All these arguments have been debunked time and time again.
@1234doawee My friend, I really don't know what to say anymore but God is real, and I am going to believe with everything in me that you are going to encounter him on the earth. I pray for you every day now because you've made a huge impact on me, I think you are one of the most open minded and easy to talk to atheists I've ever met. It's gonna be a while before I post my next evolution video, but I hope you'll follow me and join the conversation when I do, I value your views.
@Symphonious7 I imagine one day you and I will be in heaven having a great laugh about the first conversation we ever had, and thinking how silly it was such conversations ever happened. Of course I have no proof, it's just what I believe. Walking by faith is a choice, and it's the choice I made a long time ago, it has never let me down, so I have no reason to abandon it. I wish you happiness, prosperity, and peace, and I consider you a friend. God bless you!
@1234doawee The 'silence of God' is a puzzle most troubling to the mind. Yet thinking about it leads one more toward than away from God and religion. Yes?
For many people their sense awe, their religion, comes less from the answers they've been given than from the unanserwed questions they've found. Perhaps, "To question is the answer". (That slogan was on a bumper sticker once sold by my local church, uutampa dot org.)
@bryher2 Why would the silence of god lead you towards him and religion? That makes no sense to me, its like saying the harder you look for fairies and the more you cant find them the more this leads you finding them and believing they exist?
The logical position to any unanswered question is to disbelieve everything without evidence to support your answer. This kind of logic is only used to defend religious rhetoric and a rational mind would never use this kind of thinking in everyday life.
@1234doawee Cause ultimately 1234, no one will ever find God in a science book. That's not where God is residing, all the amazing aspects of physical reality, it's no big deal to God, he just used it as the medium for his spiritual mission. You're not going to have him proven to you that way, it takes a different kind of seeking. Only you know if you are capable of seeking like that or not. Best wishes to you, I hope you find what you are looking for.
@Symphonious7 but cant you apply the same logic to anything? For example: "no one will ever find fairies in a science book. That's not where fairies are residing, all the amazing aspects of physical reality, it's no big deal to fairies, they just used it as the medium for their spiritual mission. You're not going to have fairies proven to you that way, it takes a different kind of seeking. Only you know if you are capable of seeking like that or not."
1234doa Well, since nothing natural can create matter the logic then follows that matter came from a force or being that is super natural,He or it would have to be eternal, spirit, all knowing, all powerful, omnipresent and would have to transcend His creation. This is the exact description of the Biblical God.Information is a sender receiver system that must be present before matter can exist, and when information is traced back to it's origins it always comes from a living intelligence & that's God.
BTW - no wonder that MDs, so-called "scientists" tell such stories. Since pharmaceutical industry dominates medical science and reduces medical treatment dominantly on taking drugs, the MDs do know that they do know virtualy nothing relevant about medical treatment of most illnesses.
Also they are just indoctrinated tools of the healthcare bussines and pharmaceutical industry.
Religion comes from people not understanding development of human society and so not being able to act as complete human within real society. So religion as surrogate is needed, like opium that kills the real human. They help their family, the church, but accept that their media provides war mongering lies every day and their military bombs any year a new country for "humanitarian" reasons. So religion is intentionally promoted and the most dangerous mental illness in the world. Be free of it.
Are you happy in the world? Do you feel the world is pure and holy? Do you find peace in the world? If there are people looking for the 'light', then turn to Jesus! He will deliver you from evil, and you will walk in light with Him! He is our Saviour, who sacrificed Himself for our sins, so we are able to have a chance here on earth. Good news? We all have a chance on earth to change! Follow Christ, He will take you out of the evil ways of the world, and you will be set free! AMEN!
@lizardstyle101 This statement of yours scares me.... Prophecy is not a guarantee... believe me I've been prophecied over and know it is a real occurrence and everything, but it's spontaneous, lead by the holy spirit, how can you guarantee the holy spirit will inspire prophecy? This sounds fishy to me, if you'd like pm me more info and maybe a testimony, I've never known a prophet who could prophecy at will, it happens when they least expect it in my experience...
@lizardstyle101 I know exactly where that is.... you will soooo be hearing a report back from me about this experience. I've had real prophetic experiences before, but I've never known someone who could gaurantee it would happen, so this should be interesting... I'm a little skeptical, but I'm not ruling out the possibility it's real either, I'll be hoping for a meaningful holy spirit encounter!
You heard people say- "it will never be found", "it ain't true", "it just can't be".
I'm here to tell you these People are WRONG- I found it. Using Google Earth -
I found God's Watermarks of the REAL Garden of Eden. Look at my Channel and see the Video I made of it. I didn't point all of it out either- there are many things still hid for you to find. Come see.
Atheist are just too proud!! Many of them believe in science and thats okay but science does not explain how everything came into existence and the bible does.
@TheLuvbasketball22 wrong, the bible uses a fictional character to explain things we do not know yet. Christianity is todays version of roman myth. The Romans and Greeks used "gods" to explain things science could not yet. Soon all religions will be weeded out. People cling to religion to think they know something everyone else doesn't this is why the world is prohibited from advancement "who needs to find out? we already KNOW!!" I wish people would realize this.
@TheLuvbasketball22 Where does the Bible explain that? Also, where does the Bible how God came into existence? It's especially tricky if you leave out the early bits of polytheism with God's Father (El Elyon), thought that only would push God's creation back a step.
Too, bad, TSF / YBOR won't watch and listen to this entire message. They might learn something if they did. Of course that would be a huge change. They have ignored the truth for years.
@eosimias1 The Bible says Jesus Christ created it for himself.
From religion to the free gift.
Here is a true dramatized story about a Muslim who put his life at risk when he became a Christian. At the age of 13 he was made the Iman of his village because of his knowledge of the Quran.
The Kurdistan Brothers - Muslim Converts - h t t p://w w wDOTyoutubeDOTcom/watch?v=wyTOBZC5Ytw
@eosimias1 No more arrogant than believing we're the brightest and best natural selection had to offer. If we're the pinnacle of evolution, evolution screwed up.
@Symphonious7 Who says that humans are the pinnacle of evolution? Certainly not anyone who understands evolution. There is no arrogance to evolutionary biology. All organisms are under selective pressure to occupy their niche. The result is that some animals run faster, swim better, fly better, see better, hear better, smell better... We are not particularly good at anything, other than manipulating the environment. In summary all extant species are at their current pinnacle of their niche.
@Vistariel Homochirality is a disaster for naturalistic origins. All amino acids in proteins are 'LEFT-handed', while all sugars in DNA and RNA, and in the metabolic pathways, are 'RIGHT-handed'. Chirality!
A 50/50 mixture of left- and right-handed forms is called a racemate or racemic mixture!!. Which life can't use!! Its what we see in nature and labs!
Life never came about by time chance natural processes! IMPOSSIBLE!!!
@keeper253x Its clear you have no clue what Homochirality is!! Watch the video life from chemicals is chemically and mathematically impossible! and that's coming from a PhD level scientist! Who left Atheism!!
@5tonyvvvv When you break down anything far enough in biology its all basically chemistry. There's nothing inside a cell giving it some kind of guidance beyond that. Just because science hasn't pointed to the definite origin of life doesn't mean we have to fill in the blanks with ignorant supernatural theories. Jumping to an answer with no evidence is worse than understanding where peer reviewed, scientific knowledge falls short. That thinking hasn't advanced society, science has.
@keeper253x LOL. Ok, Peer reviewed by atheist scientists! The Scientific work that's being done proves there is no abiogenesis and evolution! Natural mechanisms never produce INFORMATION!! The inventor of the MRI is Raymond damadian is a PhD level scientist that rejects abiogenesis and evolution!
@5tonyvvvv Theist thinking is on full display here, 5tonyvvvv is pointing out a single Ph.D. that doesn't believe in evolution ignoring the fact (as pointed out by JetpackNinjaDinosaur) that 99% of Ph.D.'s do. And then we have seanmPWH saying that knowledge is bad for the bible? Then why are the theists trying to use knowledge to prove it? Can't theists just admit they cant rationalize their world view and just say that they believe in god because they want to? Pathetic.
@keeper253x There are thousands of scientists around the world that reject abiogenesis and evolution, So what you are saying you must believe in abiogenesis and evolution to be a scientist.. I just recently met Dr Ian Macreadie he has a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology!! He is one of the top scientists in Biomolecular Research Institute of Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation!!
@5tonyvvvv I'm just saying that the vast majority of scientists and educated people support evolution and the natural sciences. I would normally say that an argument from populous is a bad one but the fact is that most biologists - whose job it is to know this exact topic - support evolution. The amount of people in that field that don't is close to nothing. That counts for something. There are always going to be people on the fringe that disagree in any field but that doesn't mean anything.
@keeper253x I think you are missing something. The soupists seem to think that proteins self-assembled from a mixture of amino acids in the primordial soup. If true, how do you explain the fact that the earliest proteins only formed from L-amino acids? The soupists try to get around this by supposing that there was natural enrichment for L-amino acids over D-amino acids in the soup. Either way Racemic Mixtures NEVER WORK!!!
@keeper253x To address abiogenesis and Homochirality, They are a Huge disaster for naturalistic origins, that's why the origin of life scientists have pushed the problem out into space and want to push the age of the earth back further, To fit there atheistic world view.
Starting materials are always a single mirror image for which there is no plausible way to get it that way abiotically.
@keeper253x More significantly origin of life experiments never start with undirected processes, raw chemicals and molecules are never just put into test tubes, and left to self organize.
Scientists are always Controlling and protecting ever step of these experiments everything from nucleotide bases to arranging under artificial conditions, which are NOT plausible pre-biotic conditions!!
@keeper253x Then they say Time helps, Time hurts molecules! They break down to quickly, and these atheist scientists know this! that's why they carefully protect everything! Every chemical reaction is carefully controlled!!
These reactions take place only in the labs they are conducted in!
I guess you are not allowed to question darwinism!
@jmlew Religions are the enemies of God where as the free gift of God is by faith in Jesus Christ alone.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Audio, Gospel of John Chapter 1 AV h t t p://w w wDOTyoutubeDOTcom/watch?v=Ao4uaIjd3xs
@SupremeAmerican There's nothing wrong with that, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. If you believe he died for your sins and is the Son of God, everything else is water under the bridge. =)
Stop arguing religion! Do not convict others! That is the holy spirits job! Show others how much you love God and they will see your love and may turn to him! Arguing religion just makes people mad and upset...
@racenuke Apparently you are one of those closet "Christians" not telling the lost about the free gift of God. The Bible commands us to give out the Gospel. Do you have the free gift?
And I [Jesus] say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him. Luke 12:4,5.
@BereanBeacon1 "Anyone who rebukes a mocker will get an insult in return. Anyone who corrects the wicked will get hurt. So don't bother correcting mockers; they will only hate you. But correct the wise, and they will love you." Proverbs 7-8. Listen, I know that these people need Jesus in their lives... However, these people need to see action and disciplined lives... Youtube is not the place to show this!
@PrimevalHunter300 Problem is that you have no biblical support for that. According to scripture itself, Christianity is a religion. The "personal relationship with Buddy Christ" is never taught in the Bible. It's yet another in a long line of heresies: "This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.” Why try so hard to pull everyone else into hell with you?
@ideologger Sorry to jump in. Just real quick a factual correction. Jesus calls His disciples His "friends." He teaches to pray "Our Father..." which clearly shows an invitation to brotherhood. He says His sheep "know" Him and "hear" Him. So scripturally, PrimevalHunter300 was obviously correct to say it is a relationship. I just thought if you wanted to look for biblical support honestly you might be interested in that. Thank you for your time and have a nice day.
@cmottes Thanks for jumping in. It's tradition-bound speculation to infer that use of the words "Our" and "friends" is the teaching of the "personal relationship with Christ" doctrine. Exegetical gymnastics like that is what led some groups of gnostics to think that followers of Jesus could became a god like Christ, under the King of Gods YHWH. If a personal relationship was the bedrock of Christianity, it would be attested to by more than that. Anything else? Thanks!
@ideologger Sorry I didn't see I'd written that I was jumping in. Perhaps I was too polite since your comment is public. I see no great speculation required, nor exegesis nor gymnastics. Jesus' words are plain "I have called you friends," As is His weeping over his friend Lazarus. Obviously most Christians are not gnostics, so please put to rest your concerns. Not sure why you ask anything else - as I said, I simply gave a quick factual correction to your post. Thank you.
@Vistariel Because you cannot objectively quantify evolution, you can't objectively disprove to null hypothesis: that evolution does not occur. If you can't disprove the opposite, you cannot support the claim
@Vistariel But still may be true metaphorically . If God Exists . Science tells us that he created us trough a host of natural occurences . There's none evidence whatsoever to suggest that we were created ex nihilo . So according to you a huge portion of all christians aren't really christians . You also admitted your own bias . In which on no occations can allow the bible to be errant . I wonder if you think the the solar system is geo centric and the earth flat much ?
@Vistariel No, I am not FAITHFULLY devoting or relating to anything. Every last aspect of science IS evidence so to say that requires blind faith is a misunderstanding on your part. You're playing semantics games and you know it. Sure, bring your best epistemological argument that any key element of science's core knowledge is somehow resting on FAITH of any kind. I'm all ears!
@Vistariel No, actually I'm not because I can prove to you beyond any shadow of a doubt that the theist position is one of absolute dishonesty. If you'd like me to lay out my very simple demonstration of how and why this is true, I'd be more than happy to. I like to think I'm the first person to really figure it out. In order to be religious, one MUST be dishonest and so incredibly dishonest they care not to even verify IF their being dishonest. It's a horrible affliction to watch.
@YourBrainOnReligion Can you give a example of a theist being dishonest? is this a stereotype? Do you mean -your- subjective opinion? So if some one believes in a creator god particularly the Christian, what makes that dishonest?
@supermurloc64 Sure. In order to be a christian you must have faith that you KNOW the origins of the universe (god). Yet, no one COULD actually KNOW the origins of the universe. Still, you never hear christians saying "we *think* god exists* and instead it is "god DOES exist", "god DOES love you", etc., undeniably crossing the line into complete intellectual dishonesty. *Worse*, it requires a deeper level of dishonesty by convincing you not to even QUESTION if you ARE being honest. Make sense?
@YourBrainOnReligion Your comment is full of misconceptions and innaccuracies so i would suggest you check to be how honest you are being with yourself, before you accuse others with differing opinions than yours of not doing so.
@YourBrainOnReligion In order for the big bang theory to be compatible, we must acknowledge the laws that cause matter to operate, and the laws that matter abides by. These can be defined by very very precise constants, the gravitational, the electromagnetic, the proton to electron mass ratio, the proton decay rate. The list goes on. All of them are sub-microscopically accurate to promote atomic stability, chemical bonds, stars, galaxies, and planets. Likely hood of this? 1/infinity minus 1.
@SupremeAmerican And before you say this is the pothole and water in the pothole argument. it's not. It's the street that made the pothole possible in the first place. --- So was it an incredible infinity minus 1 lotteries in a row we won? Or was there some sort of 'will' or 'intellect' if you will, behind the construction of the big bang and resulting laws of physics. Can you see now why i consider evolution to be further evidence of intelligent design (not fundy creationism). Are you angry?
@SupremeAmerican This is not about the big bang theory at all. This is about religion claiming *IT* knows the origins. Disproving the big bang does nothing to help YOUR claim. Your thinking is very backwards, I hope that is becoming more and more obvious as this conversation progresses and most importantly, that you're actually LEARNING from this.
But - again, if you think you can present a valid rebuttal to my dishonesty argument - have at it. I don't think it's possible to defend.
@YourBrainOnReligion Yep I'll rebute it. Then you rebute mine on the origins. --- Here's ur rebuttal. First of all, Jesus was anti-religion. Christianity was a creation of the roman government in 313 AD in order to gain control of the people turning to the words of jesus instead of following the roman system of pagan law. Second of all. The majority of these religious Christians do honestly believe that Love is the origins of the universe, and that Christ told us what love was, and embodied it.
@SupremeAmerican Go look up "religion" in the dictionary. You're trying to basically categorize "organized religion" as JUST being "religion" and missing the main point of the word "religion". Religion is subscribing to ANY belief which involves a *supernatural* explanation of the origins of the world; generally invoking a deity to do so with moral guidelines from said deity. You have so many fundamental misunderstandings its crazy. Nothing in this comment has anything to do with my argument.
@YourBrainOnReligion Now it's time for you to rebuttal my big bang theory comment. Of course i doubt you will. You are intellectually dishonest and will simply come up with an excuse to run away like a scared little girl. Prove me wrong.
@YourBrainOnReligion You were wrong on your very first point. In order to be a Christian, you need nothing more than to have faith in the words of Jesus Christ, to understand and acknowledge that he died for mankind's wrong doings. Now on your further points. The origin of the universe, currently as science tells us, most likely came to be from something along the lines of the Big Bang. This is where it gets interesting. And where i will crush you. Continued.
@SupremeAmerican That inherently requires you believe that Jesus christ is the son of GOD. You're trying to point at the bottom leaf of this social weed instead of examining the roots of it like I'm forcing you to do. Nice try. Try again.
I am not saying science knows XYZ so religion is wrong. I am saying to make the claim with absolute certainty that ANYONE at this point can KNOW the origins of the universe is a bold faced liar. You correctly added "as it currently tells us.." for a reason.
@YourBrainOnReligion No, you are simply being dishonest with yourself because you refuse to accept the facts. Christians believe that God is Love, and that Love is the most important and meaningful thing in their lives. This is something you refuse to accept. And it's not even unique to christianity, you just hate christianity because it makes you insecure with your own ego being challenged.
@SupremeAmerican No, they assert that god is an immaterial yet intelligent being who exists outside of time and space. Now you're just trying to play stupid to avoid the reality of your inherent desire to lie to yourself. I've spelled it out for you as plain as can be. You're the only one in charge of your mind. If lying to yourself is acceptable to you - so be it. But don't for one moment think you're better or above anyone in any regard when you lack the key component to integrity.
@YourBrainOnReligion Nope. your accusations are quite sad. Especially when considering that according to the general theory of relativity, time requires space and matter, if something were to orchestrate the physical laws the big bang brought forward, it would have to exist outside of the bounds of time space and matter, because T S and M would be nothing more than a product of it's own invention. You can continue thinking it's all chance though. Doesnt bother me.
@SupremeAmerican Big bang theory has absolutely nothing to do with my argument. How many times must I say this? My argument has NOTHING to do with it.
AGAIN: No one can know the origins of the universe with absolute certainty because NO ONE can definitively PROVE their theory is 100% accurate and complete - EVEN THE BIG BANG THEORY. Therefore, for anyone to assert that they DO KNOW the absolute origins with absolute certainty -- like christians MUST DO -- then they're inherently dishonest.
@SupremeAmerican Can I make any more clear? I hope you understand now how the big bang theory has no bearing on this argument. ANYONE who asserts they KNOW is a freaking liar, period! No one can know - it's unknowable!!! Even the laws of physics break down in the big bang theory at a point so we can't even say "we have good mathematical models" or something. Do you get it???????
@YourBrainOnReligion I've already told you, christians don't claim to know the origins of the universe. They simply claim that Love has the most significant impact on their experience in existence of anything else, and they believe that Christ was love and truth embodied in the flesh. -- Now quit running away like a coward from my big bang argument. Or are you scared?
@SupremeAmerican And I could care less about your big bang red herring. My disbelief in god has absolutely nothing to do with the big bang theory and thus find it entirely irrelevant to any discussion about religion.
@SupremeAmerican How am I the one who is intellectually dishonest when I am sitting here saying that the only correct answer to "what are the origins of the universe?" or "where did everything come from?" is "I DO NOT KNOW"?????
Explain that thought process to me "Supreme American" ?
Christians claim god did it yet have no evidence to back this claim.
Science claims the big bang likely did it but we still aren't entirely sure.
@YourBrainOnReligion because you are claiming t hat for someone to say they honestly believe that love and truth rules their lives, so they treat it as God, they are being dishonest. You have to manipulate the actuality of the situation to fit your own wants and wishes. That is the dishonesty you are portraying. You are also refusing to examine the argument i provided due to your fear of being incapable of providing a rebuttal, and trying to blame me.
@YourBrainOnReligion No you are simply making up your own delusional statements and falsely claiming that i said them. It's okay though, you'll grow up sometime.
@YourBrainOnReligion It is also a personal choice. Why people choosing this on their own accord offends you, i do not know, but it seems to point at your own insecurities which for some reason you think are not visible when they clearly are from an outside perspective. You have some serious growing up to do my friend. And that's not a bad thing.
@V You're confusing dogmatism with religion. Science DOES have a rigid procedure it follows which /ARGUABLY/ could be considered "dogma"; with those who accept nothing less than such rigor could be considered "scientifically dogmatic"—and I'm entirely fine with that charge! Why? Science is open to progress, and through it, has proven to be the ONLY useful method for learning about reality.
Most imp., since it THRIVES on skeptical inquiry—inherently—that MUST (and DOES) include so of itself.
@Vistariel Religion is defined as being a doctrine which guides your life and rests on supernatural explanations of the world. Atheism is as antithetical as religion as heat is to ice.
I am grouping all of the religious into one group, absolutely — but not hastily nor carelessly. They all group themselves as being gullible people who are emotionally driven and entirely unable to critically think about anything. This isn't an unfair stereotype, my friend; it's a direct observation of reality.
@Vistariel But I must insist Vistariel, do not focus on my frustration with religion and try to focus on what I'm saying. I understand completely that my attitude is a detraction from the constructiveness of my words. Yet, while I've practiced toning myself down, it seemed to have very little effect either way. So why sugar coat how I feel?
But I do take great exception to you calling me intellectually dishonest; your projection mechanism couldn't be any more apparent. Google projection.
@Vistariel I'm not an angry person in general at all. However, I am quite a bitter person when it comes to religion. I don't understand how you people support such an intellectually dishonest and malicious organization at all. All one has to do is peruse through history to understand what disgust it has brought mankind. You guys utilize 100% pure emotion to base your worldviews upon then scoff at others. I don't understand how we can say: "you've been lid to, look.." and you don't even look.
@Vistariel But most importantly, I'm also right. So correct your misconceptions and stop arguing with people about what is and is not scientific when you don't understand the most elementary aspect OF science: the scientific method. Thanks in advance on behalf of any rational person who never has to discuss this nonsense with you again.
@Vistariel No you don't. You don't need to quantify anything. Your misunderstandings about even the most basic elements of science are horrifyingly egregious. I suggest spending 5 minutes studying the scientific method. No where in the scientific method does anything require quantifying. It sure is nice if the concept allows for it, but just because a concept doesn't, does not render it non-scientific and/or something we could never understand.
Yes, it's a preexisting gene - for something man creates by using extreme heat perfectly timed - that's found all over in nature right? That's why it is a MAN MADE POLYMER and not NATURAL... right?
Microbiologist my ass — you haven't even taken INTRODUCTION to microbiology, I'd wager.
@Vistariel Wrong again, as usual. If we can't FALSIFY it, THEN it isn't science. Evolution is entirely falsifiable. At this point I am going to conclude you're just a bold faced liar (pathological?) for claiming you've even taken a microbiology class let alone actual hold a degree in the field.
Dude... Nylon is a MAN MADE POLYMER. So if it did not exist itself, how could a gene exist to digest it? Again, you're showing how amazingly damaged your concept of critical thinking is.
@Vistariel How CAN we observe that when it seems to take TENS OF THOUSANDS of years for such visible morphological changes when humans have only become remotely modernized or even civilized in the last 4000 or so years? Science is so young on this scale that is not even a valid point. Again, if you were ACTUALLY a scientist, your brain wouldn't fumble with such basic logical fallacies.
Explain to me, as I just asked, how the existence of nylonase for example, could be explained ANY other way?
@Tobbena I'm pretty sure his response to that would be that they are confused. If so, I entirely agree with him. It isn't even so much that the theory of evolution destroys god, it's the evidence which supports the theory which actually does most damage (most specifically, genetics).
@Vistariel I insult you because your every reply only further proves that you have no idea what you're talking about. I don't know if you think you can honestly just PRETEND to be a scientist online and people will fall over themselves believing you, but if you can't talk the talk, it's clear as day to anyone who has ever spoken to a scientist that you most certainly are not one. Again, if this type of behavior doesn't warrant relentless personal attacks, I don't know what does.
@Vistariel I was out of characters and could not insert the word modern and the sentence was still valid enough as it was. I don't just sit here and randomly insult people, I insult people who reply to me with asinine lies like you; claiming to be a microbiologist yet somehow not understanding the importance of the explanatory power of evolution within your very own supposed field. You honestly don't think that warrants insult?
How can you skew, for ex., the existence of nylonase? Explain?
@Vistariel Also Science doesn't doesn't allow for you to prove or disprove theories or hypothesis . Only realm you can do that is mathemathics . Theories and Hypothesis can only be falsified but being a scientist with your fancy PH.D and all . I thought you already knew that
@Vistariel . I'm sorry but the only way you would have to exsplain away the genetic evidence for common ancestry is an dishonest god . I would also like to know where you think man begins and ape stop . adhering to the fossils we found if we were to lay them out in front of you . I would also like to hear your thoughts on why the earliest life on earth that we found is bacteria . why we find fossil where we exspect to find them . This video is merely a big fat argument from authorotha
@Vistariel with that response i simply refuse to believe that you hold any real scientific degree at all . since evolution deals mainly with population genetics . You are still an ape just as you are still a mammal and you can blame a creationist for that . Even if you were to change peoples positions on god you still wouldn't be able to change their position on Evolution . Science can at most only kill the necessity of god not the possibility of a god . To say anything else would be dishonest
@Vistariel You're a BIOLOGIST my ASS. You'd never argue that evolutionary theory is not the foundation to the entire study of biology. Without evolution, you don't HAVE biology beyond the study of basic cells and physiological morphology. Evolution was not the first alternative explanation. I am rude because of ignorant ass statements like that. The greeks—WAY BEFORE JESUS—proposed that we came from a heartier species as a human baby cannot survive on its own. The first alternative?? Idiot.
@YourBrainOnReligion wow.....whose speaking?....jesus didn't preach how the world started he taught to be born again...but there is old testament that is from the beginning of time which is from the beginning of first people...you should check out Archaeology: Digging for the Truth of the Bible, youtube.com/watch?v=_Kt3Kk8mtlo&feature=channel_video_title , youtube.com/watch?v=szBTl3S24MY ....i think this would be very interesting to you
@vvysoc Uh, if Jesus was walking around endorsing genesis, then yes, he DID indirectly preach how the world began. You're not too bright either, are you? Seems to be a common denominator amongst christians.
@Vistariel What biology classes did you take? "Atheistic ontology" ???? You think that atheism only came into existence AFTER evolutionary theory was discovered? Are you fucking stupid? Wait, you've already answered that.
If you're so confident it's wrong, you should easily be able to provide an alternative explanation which accounts for all of the evidence. What's your alternative proposition? Please, do share your explanation of the phenomenon of diversity or speciation.
@Vistariel I am sorry to hear that, his story is a facinating one and seems like a very interesting man. I will read up some more but i do beg to differ, the success of evolution as a theory is very much a matter of science.
@Vistariel Really? Then what is his name? I would very much like to look him up and check the validity of his statements. Has he written any papers? Because if he hasnt then he really should, if his findings show that evolution cant work and his reasoning and maths are sound then we could have a breakthrough on our hands.
If an atheist phd turning to christianity supports the truth of christianity does that mean that a christan phd turning atheist is in support of atheism?
Additionally, by using this as some sort of evidence or support of your religion you also suggest that PHDs have some sort of authority on truth. If this is true what does it mean if 99% of all people with PHDs on the planet support evolution?
@JetpackNinjaDinosaur the evolution PHD connection implies, knowledge tends to blind people to the truth, as the bible says, knowledge puffs up, i.e. knowledge, like riches, can lead one to self-sufficiency. Understand that self-sufficiency is a false position for any human, thus the blindness to the truth. So the turning of a PHD defies the odds, and therein lies the novelty.
"knowledge tends to blind people to the truth, as the bible says"
If the bible is wrong about that, how do you know whether you actually have the truth? What if the bible is just totally wrong. How then do you know you're not wrong if you can't use knowledge?
Gives new meaning to the phrase "backsliding Christian". ;-) All the way through, it's a excellent talk, especially for those who perhaps once knew but have forgotten what Christians are really like; they're generally not the zealots so often portrayed on television, but rather are humble and of good spirit with good will toward others.
Also, the self-deprecating humor is perhaps a model of self-criticism and self-revisement we all could learn from, even if of slightly different opinion.

1234doawee 1 month ago
@1234doawee There's plenty of evidence, you just don't believe the evidence given. I see fingerprints and assume there was a hand to make them. When an atheist sees the fingerprints of God, he uses all other logic to try and rule out the possibility of there being an all-powerful hand of an Almighty God to make it.
longtan 1 month ago
@longtan I think that's where I am a problem with your logic because I think it is very unreliable to assume anything, I would see fingerprints and look at the available evidence and try and find and how and why they they are there. I really dont rule out any possibility of god ever, that would be very arrogant of me, I just have not yet seen any evidence that god/gods existence. Please tell me the evidence you have for God/ gods existence because I am completely open minded.
1234doawee 1 month ago
@1234doawee ultimately it comes down to a choice. I have been researching evolution and creationism non stop for about 2 weeks now trying to find out who has the most reasonable argument, and a great case can be made on both sides, in the end, it won't come down to proof, it's a heart condition. Why don't you do this, just pray every morning, and every night, God if you are real please reveal yourself in my life. And then be open to whatever he may do.
Symphonious7 1 month ago
@Symphonious7 Just because you are objective and reasonable, doesn't mean that when you make the choice to believe in God you'll suddenly be able to prove it. It will be more real to you than anything you've ever experienced, and you will know it's right, but you will find that when you start telling people and trying to convince them, you can't do it. God may have invented science, but he works backwards from science, in Christianity believing is seeing, not the other way around
Symphonious7 1 month ago
@Symphonious7 there is no both sides, im not being arrogant by saying this its just a fact, the theory of evolution is is evidence based and creationism/Intelligent design is a faith based position. You can have your own opinions but you cannot have your won facts. Furthermore, I dont believe there is a god/gods so why would i prey to one?
1234doawee 1 month ago
@1234doawee That's fine that you believe that, I made the suggestion of asking God to reveal himself to you because it logically makes sense. What do you have to lose by saying "god, if you're out there, prove it to me". If it's not real you will have lost nothing, if it is real you may gain everything. It's just a suggestion. And I don't recall saying you were arrogant, if I implied that somehow it was not intentional, I have nothing against you.
Symphonious7 1 month ago
@Symphonious7 Its seem like your asking me to talk to myself? To me saying "god, if you're out there, prove it to me" is the same as saying "fairies, if you're out there, prove it to me". I dont believe either exist meaning id just be a bloke in a room talking to myself?
1234doawee 1 month ago
@1234doawee Fair enough. I believe in full confidence if you honestly sought that, you would find him, but I see that the act of seeking flies in the face of your worldview, and you can't honestly do it in that manner I suppose. I don't know what's in your heart, I don't know what you've been through, if what I'm suggesting is impossible for you, only you would know. I'm just making a suggestion =)
Symphonious7 1 month ago
@Symphonious7 Have only ever believed in things backed by science. What do you mean when you say "I don't know what's in your heart??".
its nice to have a cool person on youtube coments its very rare lol :) i suppose this is what makes the world interesting the fact that everyone's different.
1234doawee 1 month ago
@1234doawee Wait... did you just say I was cool? Thanks! You're cool too! And here lies the heart of where you and I differ, you are assuming God isn't real, so you equate seeking him to seeking fairies. I would argue it's nothing like seeking fairies, because fairies are fake, and God is real, but that just puts us right back where we started. I would encourage you to just stay open to the possibility of a God, and go with what makes sense to you.
Symphonious7 1 month ago
@Symphonious7 ultimately I can't convince you, it has to come from within yourself. But like I said, I'm not scared that because you don't believe you're going to hell so I have to convince you! I'm not that kind of Christian, I believe it is ultimate arrogance to think you know someone's eternal fate or think you have a hand in changing it. I'm more interested in helping the people who WANT to be christian, do it without hypocrisy.
Symphonious7 1 month ago
@Symphonious7 I think Christianity is a now religion, not a "when you die" religion. I hope that you can respect me for my beliefs, even if you don't share them, I respect you for yours.
Symphonious7 1 month ago
@1234doawee oh, and what I meant by "what's in your heart" is that the human spirit is a very complex thing, and our experiences cause us to open or close it to certain things. Alot of times painful experiences, or people who mistreated us, cause us to harden our hearts to things without knowing it. I'm saying I don't know what life has been like for you, and what kind of experiences may have affected your worldview.
Symphonious7 1 month ago
@Symphonious7 how do you know that we have spirits? where did you find out this information?
1234doawee 1 month ago
@1234doawee I feel like I keep telling you that I can't prove this to you through logic and reason and you keep trying to get me to try anyway. To me the evidence of the human spirit is just obvious, plus when you begin to look for the signs of spiritual bondage or spiritual freedom, you begin to see it in the humans around you. When you watch people come to God and witness the freedom they feel, you don't question the existence of the human spirit, but that's not verifiable proof.
Symphonious7 1 month ago
@Symphonious7 See 1234, I would have no problems dying and finding out I was wrong. My christian faith helped me in life, it gave me purpose and reason, and it made sense to me, should I find out I'm wrong at the end of all this, I would have no regrets. For me Christianity works, and I believe it more the more I try to live for Jesus and see love and light in the eyes of people around me. I know I'm doing good things, that's good enough for me.
Symphonious7 1 month ago
@1234doawee I'm shocked, I actually found scientific evidence of the human spirit, I didn't think I would. For some freaking reason it won't let me send the link, look up "scientist films soul leaving the body" on youtube.
Symphonious7 1 month ago
@Symphonious7 i just checked it out but it doesnt link you to the paper, do you have it?
1234doawee 1 month ago
@1234doawee Once again stupid youtube doesn't let me put the link. it's on a site called 2012 changes are now dot com. I don't know how official it is, nor am I saying this is proof of anything. I just thought I'd do a quick search to see if there was any scientific evidence of the soul, and while this doesn't seem to be proof, it is evidence that suggests it exists.
Symphonious7 1 month ago
@Symphonious7 its seem completely crazy to me that a god would make it this hard to find out whether he was real? Why arnt we all born with an instinctual knowledge of god that you seem to possess. Its not fair that you have been given this gift and i have not. To be fair i was being disingenuous when asking for the paper, i already know there is no evidence because if there was it would be the biggest story to every come to mankind, like the discovery of the atom or mand landing on the moon.
1234doawee 1 month ago
@1234doawee That statement just broke my heart. I totally understand your point of view, and I wish I had a better answer for you. You've made such a huge impact on me, all I know to do is pray for you every day, your questions are legitimate, your feelings are valid. Why did God choose me? I don't know. I did intensely seek him for years, always believing I would find him. Perhaps if you believe you'll find him you will, and if you don't believe it, you won't?
Symphonious7 1 month ago
@Symphonious7 The most important thing I want you to understand about the God I serve, I don't mean what most Christians think of him, I mean the guy that leads me through means that I would not want to disclose lest I sound crazy, but he is not mad at you. And he's not going to send you to hell, he likes that you question, he likes that you're honest with yourself, and he will find you in this life or the next, and make sense of everything.
Symphonious7 1 month ago

Symphonious7 1 month ago

Symphonious7 1 month ago

(That slogan was on a bumper sticker once sold by my local church, uutampa dot org.)
bryher2 1 week ago
@bryher2 Why would the silence of god lead you towards him and religion? That makes no sense to me, its like saying the harder you look for fairies and the more you cant find them the more this leads you finding them and believing they exist?
The logical position to any unanswered question is to disbelieve everything without evidence to support your answer. This kind of logic is only used to defend religious rhetoric and a rational mind would never use this kind of thinking in everyday life.
1234doawee 5 days ago
@1234doawee Cause ultimately 1234, no one will ever find God in a science book. That's not where God is residing, all the amazing aspects of physical reality, it's no big deal to God, he just used it as the medium for his spiritual mission. You're not going to have him proven to you that way, it takes a different kind of seeking. Only you know if you are capable of seeking like that or not. Best wishes to you, I hope you find what you are looking for.
Symphonious7 1 month ago

Matt 2:23: Says Jesus was prophesied to be a Nazarene, except there is no such prophecy in the Old Testament. The scripture doesn't exist.
Matt 27:9: Quotes a prophecy from Jeremiah. There is no such prophecy in Jeremiah.
John 2:17: Quotes a psalm as a prophecy of Jesus. Except the psalm is clearly talking about a SINNER. Was Jesus a sinner?
Matt 2:14: Says Jesus was prophesied to come out of Egypt. The 'prophecy' quoted is talking about Israel (Jacob), not Jesus.

Atheist are just too proud!! Many of them believe in science and thats okay but science does not explain how everything came into existence and the bible does.
TheLuvbasketball22 4 months ago

Talking about arrogance, isn't it immensely arrogant to hold onto the view that the entire vastness of the universe was created for us?
eosimias1 6 months ago
@eosimias1 The Bible says Jesus Christ created it for himself.
From religion to the free gift.
Here is a true dramatized story about a Muslim who put his life at risk when he became a Christian. At the age of 13 he was made the Iman of his village because of his knowledge of the Quran.

@eosimias1 No more arrogant than believing we're the brightest and best natural selection had to offer. If we're the pinnacle of evolution, evolution screwed up.
Symphonious7 1 month ago
@Symphonious7 Who says that humans are the pinnacle of evolution? Certainly not anyone who understands evolution. There is no arrogance to evolutionary biology. All organisms are under selective pressure to occupy their niche. The result is that some animals run faster, swim better, fly better, see better, hear better, smell better... We are not particularly good at anything, other than manipulating the environment. In summary all extant species are at their current pinnacle of their niche.
eosimias1 1 month ago
@Vistariel Homochirality is a disaster for naturalistic origins. All amino acids in proteins are 'LEFT-handed', while all sugars in DNA and RNA, and in the metabolic pathways, are 'RIGHT-handed'. Chirality!
A 50/50 mixture of left- and right-handed forms is called a racemate or racemic mixture!!. Which life can't use!! Its what we see in nature and labs!
Life never came about by time chance natural processes! IMPOSSIBLE!!!
5tonyvvvv 7 months ago
@5tonyvvvv Its clear to anyone that knows about evolution that you have no idea what you're talking about.
keeper253x 7 months ago
@keeper253x Its clear you have no clue what Homochirality is!! Watch the video life from chemicals is chemically and mathematically impossible! and that's coming from a PhD level scientist! Who left Atheism!!
5tonyvvvv 7 months ago
@5tonyvvvv When you break down anything far enough in biology its all basically chemistry. There's nothing inside a cell giving it some kind of guidance beyond that. Just because science hasn't pointed to the definite origin of life doesn't mean we have to fill in the blanks with ignorant supernatural theories. Jumping to an answer with no evidence is worse than understanding where peer reviewed, scientific knowledge falls short. That thinking hasn't advanced society, science has.
keeper253x 7 months ago 2
@keeper253x LOL. Ok, Peer reviewed by atheist scientists! The Scientific work that's being done proves there is no abiogenesis and evolution! Natural mechanisms never produce INFORMATION!! The inventor of the MRI is Raymond damadian is a PhD level scientist that rejects abiogenesis and evolution!
5tonyvvvv 7 months ago
@5tonyvvvv Theist thinking is on full display here, 5tonyvvvv is pointing out a single Ph.D. that doesn't believe in evolution ignoring the fact (as pointed out by JetpackNinjaDinosaur) that 99% of Ph.D.'s do. And then we have seanmPWH saying that knowledge is bad for the bible? Then why are the theists trying to use knowledge to prove it? Can't theists just admit they cant rationalize their world view and just say that they believe in god because they want to? Pathetic.
keeper253x 7 months ago
@keeper253x There are thousands of scientists around the world that reject abiogenesis and evolution, So what you are saying you must believe in abiogenesis and evolution to be a scientist.. I just recently met Dr Ian Macreadie he has a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology!! He is one of the top scientists in Biomolecular Research Institute of Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation!!
5tonyvvvv 7 months ago
@5tonyvvvv I'm just saying that the vast majority of scientists and educated people support evolution and the natural sciences. I would normally say that an argument from populous is a bad one but the fact is that most biologists - whose job it is to know this exact topic - support evolution. The amount of people in that field that don't is close to nothing. That counts for something. There are always going to be people on the fringe that disagree in any field but that doesn't mean anything.
keeper253x 7 months ago
@keeper253x I think you are missing something. The soupists seem to think that proteins self-assembled from a mixture of amino acids in the primordial soup. If true, how do you explain the fact that the earliest proteins only formed from L-amino acids? The soupists try to get around this by supposing that there was natural enrichment for L-amino acids over D-amino acids in the soup. Either way Racemic Mixtures NEVER WORK!!!
5tonyvvvv 7 months ago
@keeper253x To address abiogenesis and Homochirality, They are a Huge disaster for naturalistic origins, that's why the origin of life scientists have pushed the problem out into space and want to push the age of the earth back further, To fit there atheistic world view.
Starting materials are always a single mirror image for which there is no plausible way to get it that way abiotically.
5tonyvvvv 7 months ago
@keeper253x More significantly origin of life experiments never start with undirected processes, raw chemicals and molecules are never just put into test tubes, and left to self organize.
Scientists are always Controlling and protecting ever step of these experiments everything from nucleotide bases to arranging under artificial conditions, which are NOT plausible pre-biotic conditions!!
5tonyvvvv 7 months ago
@keeper253x Jack szostak and craig venter, use templates and synthesizing machines!
These scientist control every step of these experiments! They borrow and rearrange the blueprints that GOD created in the first place!!
5tonyvvvv 7 months ago
@keeper253x Then they say Time helps, Time hurts molecules! They break down to quickly, and these atheist scientists know this! that's why they carefully protect everything! Every chemical reaction is carefully controlled!!
These reactions take place only in the labs they are conducted in!
I guess you are not allowed to question darwinism!

PrimevalHunter300 5 months ago 11
@PrimevalHunter300 Problem is that you have no biblical support for that. According to scripture itself, Christianity is a religion. The "personal relationship with Buddy Christ" is never taught in the Bible. It's yet another in a long line of heresies: "This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.” Why try so hard to pull everyone else into hell with you?
ideologger 2 months ago
@ideologger Sorry to jump in. Just real quick a factual correction. Jesus calls His disciples His "friends." He teaches to pray "Our Father..." which clearly shows an invitation to brotherhood. He says His sheep "know" Him and "hear" Him. So scripturally, PrimevalHunter300 was obviously correct to say it is a relationship. I just thought if you wanted to look for biblical support honestly you might be interested in that. Thank you for your time and have a nice day.
cmottes 2 months ago

Thank you.

Tobbena 10 months ago
@Vistariel Because you cannot objectively quantify evolution, you can't objectively disprove to null hypothesis: that evolution does not occur. If you can't disprove the opposite, you cannot support the claim
Tobbena 10 months ago
@Vistariel But still may be true metaphorically . If God Exists . Science tells us that he created us trough a host of natural occurences . There's none evidence whatsoever to suggest that we were created ex nihilo . So according to you a huge portion of all christians aren't really christians . You also admitted your own bias . In which on no occations can allow the bible to be errant . I wonder if you think the the solar system is geo centric and the earth flat much ?
Tobbena 10 months ago
@Vistariel No, I am not FAITHFULLY devoting or relating to anything. Every last aspect of science IS evidence so to say that requires blind faith is a misunderstanding on your part. You're playing semantics games and you know it. Sure, bring your best epistemological argument that any key element of science's core knowledge is somehow resting on FAITH of any kind. I'm all ears!
YourBrainOnReligion 10 months ago
@Vistariel No, actually I'm not because I can prove to you beyond any shadow of a doubt that the theist position is one of absolute dishonesty. If you'd like me to lay out my very simple demonstration of how and why this is true, I'd be more than happy to. I like to think I'm the first person to really figure it out. In order to be religious, one MUST be dishonest and so incredibly dishonest they care not to even verify IF their being dishonest. It's a horrible affliction to watch.
YourBrainOnReligion 10 months ago
@YourBrainOnReligion Can you give a example of a theist being dishonest? is this a stereotype? Do you mean -your- subjective opinion? So if some one believes in a creator god particularly the Christian, what makes that dishonest?
supermurloc64 8 months ago
@supermurloc64 Sure. In order to be a christian you must have faith that you KNOW the origins of the universe (god). Yet, no one COULD actually KNOW the origins of the universe. Still, you never hear christians saying "we *think* god exists* and instead it is "god DOES exist", "god DOES love you", etc., undeniably crossing the line into complete intellectual dishonesty. *Worse*, it requires a deeper level of dishonesty by convincing you not to even QUESTION if you ARE being honest. Make sense?
YourBrainOnReligion 8 months ago
@YourBrainOnReligion Your comment is full of misconceptions and innaccuracies so i would suggest you check to be how honest you are being with yourself, before you accuse others with differing opinions than yours of not doing so.

@YourBrainOnReligion Funny considering that's exactly what you did, which is why i left that comment to you. What are you? High?
SupremeAmerican 8 months ago
@SupremeAmerican What dimension are you living in? I presented a very cogent argument. If you'd like to dissect it, have at it Hauss.
YourBrainOnReligion 8 months ago
@YourBrainOnReligion In order for the big bang theory to be compatible, we must acknowledge the laws that cause matter to operate, and the laws that matter abides by. These can be defined by very very precise constants, the gravitational, the electromagnetic, the proton to electron mass ratio, the proton decay rate. The list goes on. All of them are sub-microscopically accurate to promote atomic stability, chemical bonds, stars, galaxies, and planets. Likely hood of this? 1/infinity minus 1.
SupremeAmerican 8 months ago
@SupremeAmerican And before you say this is the pothole and water in the pothole argument. it's not. It's the street that made the pothole possible in the first place. --- So was it an incredible infinity minus 1 lotteries in a row we won? Or was there some sort of 'will' or 'intellect' if you will, behind the construction of the big bang and resulting laws of physics. Can you see now why i consider evolution to be further evidence of intelligent design (not fundy creationism). Are you angry?
SupremeAmerican 8 months ago
@SupremeAmerican This is not about the big bang theory at all. This is about religion claiming *IT* knows the origins. Disproving the big bang does nothing to help YOUR claim. Your thinking is very backwards, I hope that is becoming more and more obvious as this conversation progresses and most importantly, that you're actually LEARNING from this.
But - again, if you think you can present a valid rebuttal to my dishonesty argument - have at it. I don't think it's possible to defend.
YourBrainOnReligion 8 months ago
@YourBrainOnReligion Yep I'll rebute it. Then you rebute mine on the origins. --- Here's ur rebuttal. First of all, Jesus was anti-religion. Christianity was a creation of the roman government in 313 AD in order to gain control of the people turning to the words of jesus instead of following the roman system of pagan law. Second of all. The majority of these religious Christians do honestly believe that Love is the origins of the universe, and that Christ told us what love was, and embodied it.
SupremeAmerican 8 months ago
@SupremeAmerican Go look up "religion" in the dictionary. You're trying to basically categorize "organized religion" as JUST being "religion" and missing the main point of the word "religion". Religion is subscribing to ANY belief which involves a *supernatural* explanation of the origins of the world; generally invoking a deity to do so with moral guidelines from said deity. You have so many fundamental misunderstandings its crazy. Nothing in this comment has anything to do with my argument.
YourBrainOnReligion 8 months ago
@YourBrainOnReligion Now it's time for you to rebuttal my big bang theory comment. Of course i doubt you will. You are intellectually dishonest and will simply come up with an excuse to run away like a scared little girl. Prove me wrong.
SupremeAmerican 8 months ago
@YourBrainOnReligion You were wrong on your very first point. In order to be a Christian, you need nothing more than to have faith in the words of Jesus Christ, to understand and acknowledge that he died for mankind's wrong doings. Now on your further points. The origin of the universe, currently as science tells us, most likely came to be from something along the lines of the Big Bang. This is where it gets interesting. And where i will crush you. Continued.
SupremeAmerican 8 months ago
@SupremeAmerican That inherently requires you believe that Jesus christ is the son of GOD. You're trying to point at the bottom leaf of this social weed instead of examining the roots of it like I'm forcing you to do. Nice try. Try again.
I am not saying science knows XYZ so religion is wrong. I am saying to make the claim with absolute certainty that ANYONE at this point can KNOW the origins of the universe is a bold faced liar. You correctly added "as it currently tells us.." for a reason.
YourBrainOnReligion 8 months ago
@YourBrainOnReligion No, you are simply being dishonest with yourself because you refuse to accept the facts. Christians believe that God is Love, and that Love is the most important and meaningful thing in their lives. This is something you refuse to accept. And it's not even unique to christianity, you just hate christianity because it makes you insecure with your own ego being challenged.
SupremeAmerican 8 months ago
@SupremeAmerican No, they assert that god is an immaterial yet intelligent being who exists outside of time and space. Now you're just trying to play stupid to avoid the reality of your inherent desire to lie to yourself. I've spelled it out for you as plain as can be. You're the only one in charge of your mind. If lying to yourself is acceptable to you - so be it. But don't for one moment think you're better or above anyone in any regard when you lack the key component to integrity.
YourBrainOnReligion 8 months ago
@YourBrainOnReligion Nope. your accusations are quite sad. Especially when considering that according to the general theory of relativity, time requires space and matter, if something were to orchestrate the physical laws the big bang brought forward, it would have to exist outside of the bounds of time space and matter, because T S and M would be nothing more than a product of it's own invention. You can continue thinking it's all chance though. Doesnt bother me.
SupremeAmerican 8 months ago
@SupremeAmerican Big bang theory has absolutely nothing to do with my argument. How many times must I say this? My argument has NOTHING to do with it.
AGAIN: No one can know the origins of the universe with absolute certainty because NO ONE can definitively PROVE their theory is 100% accurate and complete - EVEN THE BIG BANG THEORY. Therefore, for anyone to assert that they DO KNOW the absolute origins with absolute certainty -- like christians MUST DO -- then they're inherently dishonest.
YourBrainOnReligion 8 months ago
@SupremeAmerican Can I make any more clear? I hope you understand now how the big bang theory has no bearing on this argument. ANYONE who asserts they KNOW is a freaking liar, period! No one can know - it's unknowable!!! Even the laws of physics break down in the big bang theory at a point so we can't even say "we have good mathematical models" or something. Do you get it???????
YourBrainOnReligion 8 months ago
@YourBrainOnReligion I've already told you, christians don't claim to know the origins of the universe. They simply claim that Love has the most significant impact on their experience in existence of anything else, and they believe that Christ was love and truth embodied in the flesh. -- Now quit running away like a coward from my big bang argument. Or are you scared?
SupremeAmerican 8 months ago
@SupremeAmerican Really?
Who inspired the writing of the bible?
YourBrainOnReligion 8 months ago
@SupremeAmerican And I could care less about your big bang red herring. My disbelief in god has absolutely nothing to do with the big bang theory and thus find it entirely irrelevant to any discussion about religion.
YourBrainOnReligion 8 months ago
@YourBrainOnReligion That's because your bigotry against Christianity limits your intellectual capacity and as a result, your intellectual honesty.
SupremeAmerican 8 months ago
@SupremeAmerican How am I the one who is intellectually dishonest when I am sitting here saying that the only correct answer to "what are the origins of the universe?" or "where did everything come from?" is "I DO NOT KNOW"?????
Explain that thought process to me "Supreme American" ?
Christians claim god did it yet have no evidence to back this claim.
Science claims the big bang likely did it but we still aren't entirely sure.
WHO IS INTELLECTUALLY DISHONEST??????????
I DARE you to reply.
YourBrainOnReligion 8 months ago
@YourBrainOnReligion because you are claiming t hat for someone to say they honestly believe that love and truth rules their lives, so they treat it as God, they are being dishonest. You have to manipulate the actuality of the situation to fit your own wants and wishes. That is the dishonesty you are portraying. You are also refusing to examine the argument i provided due to your fear of being incapable of providing a rebuttal, and trying to blame me.

SupremeAmerican 8 months ago
@YourBrainOnReligion It is also a personal choice. SupremeAmerican 8 months ago
YourBrainOnReligion 10 months ago
@Vistariel Religion is defined as being a doctrine which guides your life and rests on supernatural explanations of the world. Atheism is as antithetical as religion as heat is to ice.
I am grouping all of the religious into one group, absolutely — but not hastily nor carelessly. They all group themselves as being gullible people who are emotionally driven and entirely unable to critically think about anything. This isn't an unfair stereotype, my friend; it's a direct observation of reality.
YourBrainOnReligion 10 months ago
@Vistariel But I must insist Vistariel, do not focus on my frustration with religion and try to focus on what I'm saying. I understand completely that my attitude is a detraction from the constructiveness of my words. Yet, while I've practiced toning myself down, it seemed to have very little effect either way. So why sugar coat how I feel?
But I do take great exception to you calling me intellectually dishonest; your projection mechanism couldn't be any more apparent. Google projection.
YourBrainOnReligion 10 months ago
@Vistariel I'm not an angry person in general at all. However, I am quite a bitter person when it comes to religion. I don't understand how you people support such an intellectually dishonest and malicious organization at all. All one has to do is peruse through history to understand what disgust it has brought mankind. You guys utilize 100% pure emotion to base your worldviews upon then scoff at others. I don't understand how we can say: "you've been lid to, look.." and you don't even look.
YourBrainOnReligion 10 months ago
@Vistariel But most importantly, I'm also right. So correct your misconceptions and stop arguing with people about what is and is not scientific when you don't understand the most elementary aspect OF science: the scientific method. Thanks in advance on behalf of any rational person who never has to discuss this nonsense with you again.
YourBrainOnReligion 10 months ago
@Vistariel No you don't. You don't need to quantify anything. Your misunderstandings about even the most basic elements of science are horrifyingly egregious. I suggest spending 5 minutes studying the scientific method. No where in the scientific method does anything require quantifying. It sure is nice if the concept allows for it, but just because a concept doesn't, does not render it non-scientific and/or something we could never understand.
Your mind is deeply troubled.
YourBrainOnReligion 10 months ago
@Vistariel hahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahaha
YourBrainOnReligion 10 months ago
@Vistariel Wrong again, as usual. If we can't FALSIFY it, THEN it isn't science. Evolution is entirely falsifiable. At this point I am going to conclude you're just a bold faced liar (pathological?) for claiming you've even taken a microbiology class let alone actual hold a degree in the field.
Dude... Nylon is a MAN MADE POLYMER. So if it did not exist itself, how could a gene exist to digest it? Again, you're showing how amazingly damaged your concept of critical thinking is.
YourBrainOnReligion 10 months ago
@Vistariel How CAN we observe that when it seems to take TENS OF THOUSANDS of years for such visible morphological changes when humans have only become remotely modernized or even civilized in the last 4000 or so years? Science is so young on this scale that is not even a valid point. Again, if you were ACTUALLY a scientist, your brain wouldn't fumble with such basic logical fallacies.
Explain to me, as I just asked, how the existence of nylonase for example, could be explained ANY other way?
YourBrainOnReligion 10 months ago
@Vistariel What about those who accept both god and evolution ?
Tobbena 10 months ago
@Tobbena I'm pretty sure his response to that would be that they are confused. If so, I entirely agree with him. It isn't even so much that the theory of evolution destroys god, it's the evidence which supports the theory which actually does most damage (most specifically, genetics).
YourBrainOnReligion 10 months ago
@Vistariel I insult you because your every reply only further proves that you have no idea what you're talking about. I don't know if you think you can honestly just PRETEND to be a scientist online and people will fall over themselves believing you, but if you can't talk the talk, it's clear as day to anyone who has ever spoken to a scientist that you most certainly are not one. Again, if this type of behavior doesn't warrant relentless personal attacks, I don't know what does.
YourBrainOnReligion 10 months ago
@Vistariel I was out of characters and could not insert the word modern and the sentence was still valid enough as it was. I don't just sit here and randomly insult people, I insult people who reply to me with asinine lies like you; claiming to be a microbiologist yet somehow not understanding the importance of the explanatory power of evolution within your very own supposed field. You honestly don't think that warrants insult?
How can you skew, for ex., the existence of nylonase? Explain?

YourBrainOnReligion 10 months ago

Tobbena 10 months ago
@Vistariel . I'm sorry but the only way you would have to exsplain away the genetic evidence for common ancestry is an dishonest god . I would also like to hear your thoughts on why the earliest life on earth that we found is bacteria . why we find fossil where we exspect to find them . This video is merely a big fat argument from authorotha
Tobbena 10 months ago
@Vistariel with that response i simply refuse to believe that you hold any real scientific degree at all . since evolution deals mainly with population genetics . You are still an ape just as you are still a mammal and you can blame a creationist for that . Even if you were to change peoples positions on god you still wouldn't be able to change their position on Evolution . Science can at most only kill the necessity of god not the possibility of a god . To say anything else would be dishonest
Tobbena 10 months ago
@Vistariel You're a BIOLOGIST my ASS. You'd never argue that evolutionary theory is not the foundation to the entire study of biology. Without evolution, you don't HAVE biology beyond the study of basic cells and physiological morphology. Evolution was not the first alternative explanation. I am rude because of ignorant ass statements like that. The greeks—WAY BEFORE JESUS—proposed that we came from a heartier species as a human baby cannot survive on its own. The first alternative?? Idiot.

If the bible is wrong about that, how do you know whether you actually have the truth? What if the bible is just totally wrong. How then do you know you're not wrong if you can't use knowledge?
