  • 34 game winning streak,2 straight hiesman winners,2 time defending national champions southern california trojans going for there 3 in a row...texas diserved it they wanted it more...

  • Even the Aggies were pulling for the 'Horns on this play. Way to represent the state of Texas and Gig' em!

  • how did USC not know that Vince was gonna run?

  • Greatest College Football game to ever be played. Period.

  • the first announcer didnt sound that excited but the second one made up for it

  • lol I was there. Everyone went batshit crazy.

  • If Bush would not have tried to pitch the ball to one of his teammates and turned the ball over doing so, this 4th and 5 play would have been meaningless.

  • @BadLeaders you fucking idiot...you could say that about any play of the game that didnt end up in USC favor...You could also say if Texas hadnt stopped usc on 4rth and 1 this play wouldnt have mattered..thats how football goes you fag

  • @orangeoctober33 Hey asswipe, you horny fag fans sure don't like to hear the truth, do you? One more thing dumbass, I was actually glad to see Texas win despite how nasty some of you Texass fans are.

  • @BadLeaders What truth?...we won...you're the one making excuses...you picked 1 play that happened in the first half that Bush fucked up on and said thats why usc lost....No. Usc lost because longhorns took care of business...you need to learn more about football because you can pick any play of the game and say thats why we didnt win bla bla bla...

  • @orangeoctober33 I really don't care about either one of these teams, but Bush's boneheaded play was a turning point in that game. I'm not the only one who said this, there were a few football gurus who said the same thing. Even though I hate the Horns, I still said I rooted for them because they were a Big 12 team. Southern California has a much more storied program, but unfortunately they had a very average defense in 2005, otherwise they would've beat Texas badly.

  • @BadLeaders Interesting. So if they were a better team, they would have beaten Texas by a wide margin. Interesting point you make. I suppose one could argue that if Texas had a better defense they could beat USC by a wide margin. AMAZING! If '95 Nebraska had a worse offense, they wouldn't be one of the greatest teams of all time. INCREDIBLE deductions!

  • @lChupacabra You need to comprehend better there tiger. I didn't say USC was the better team, I said if USC didn't have such an average defense in 2005, they would've beaten Texas badly. Texas has been a luckball team for sure the last decade or so.

Heck, even with a very average defense, USC still gave Texass all they wanted.

Also, Texass had the best defense they've ever had, so no use trying to turn things around there numbnuts.

  • @BadLeaders I understood completely what you said. Your post was simply the stupidest fucking thing I have ever read on these interwebs. If Texas Tech had a better defense they would have won the national championship a couple of years ago. If USC had one of the greatest clutch QBs in the history of college football they would have beaten Texas. If my aunt was my uncle she'd have a cock...who gives a fuck. Your point is fucking stupid. Texas beat USC. Period.

  • also, not the greatest Texas D of all time. Not even close. You need to educate yourself on college football history. Not that it matters because.....TEXAS WON and I made $10k off that game because people like you have no fucking clue.

  • @lChupacabra You are just another typical arrogant Texass fan. I went to the 1999 Big 12 Championship game and one of your fans yelled in my ear after our running back gave your stinky team their only score by fumbling. I remember telling my wife that if the drunk Texass fan yelled in my ear again, I would knock him out. Continued on another post because youtube stinks...

  • @lChupacabra I'm no Nebraska fan, but I was really hoping Nebraska would clobber Texass and I figured they would if they didn't "gift" it away like they did during the 1999 season and in the 1996 Big 12 Championship game.

  • @BadLeaders Well I am a USC fan and this play will always be a dagger to me. I think what you said is pretty fair other than I would point out they did stop them on this drive but either penalties or bad calls kept the long horns going. Darnell Bing did strip that texas receiver- ill believe that til i die

  • @Trevtab22 You'll never be able to convince an arrogant Texas fan like Chupacabra that they were helped immensely with penalties and a Bush fumble that was highly preventable.

  • @BadLeaders you mean a bush "fumble" aka forward pass...which is illegal...which means they shouldn't have lost possession of the ball.

  • @random5299 Regardless, why give the refs the chance to make the wrong call if it actually was a forward pass? Bad mistake by Bush considering he already had the first down on that play.

  • Greatest college football game ever.

  • It's loser-talk to say USC beat themselves. Texas got it done, period!

  • Almost 1200 likes and 93 dislikes........ Half of those 93 are probably USC fans anf the other half aggies. Lol! Learn to live with it, aggies. Get lost.... Hook em'!

  • Easily the greatest game I've ever seen

  • @mikeant2181 Boise State v. OU was better

  • @BigBrueser No, it actually wasn't. This game was for the national championship and the other was sweet because OU lost but not of the same magnitude.

  • This was truly a game of David and Goliath in my opinion. I know both teams were undefeated but USC was riding a 34 game winning streak, going for 3 straight national titles, 2 straight Heisman winners and being dubbed the greatest dynasty ever. I'm a USC fan and this game will never fade from my memory. Besides USC winning, I wouldn't have wanted this game to end any other way. Easily the greatest title game, if not the greatest game of all time, right up there with Boise St/Oklahoma.

  • USC wud have won because when they got possession they drove down field lik nothing then hit 4th n 3 n thought running a dive with lendale white would work for the a millionth time n it failed. Give it to bush onna sweep n down the sideline he goes.no hope for Texas but its w.e now in my opinion bush shud have got the ball

  • @xSHOCKZx1 So you're saying USC should have won because Texas's defense shouldn't have been able to stop them?

  • InVincible!!

    Hook 'em

  • I'm an Oklahoma fan and this gave me goosebumps. Simply amazing.

  • WHAT A GAME!

  • I remember watching this game when I was 15 and I was just getting into the Longhorns and I can recall every National Championship game since this one and even some of the ones before it, and NO NC game has had the electricty this game had!!! From start to finish you could just feel the tension and hype. It was that night I was sold as a Texas Longhorns fan and it goes without question that this was THE GREATEST NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP/ BOWL GAME/ COLLEGE FOOTBALL GAME EVER PLAYED!! HOOK EM HORNS

  • I guarantee after this game ended, everyone who voted for Reggie Bush to win the Heisman, wondered if they made a mistake.

  • god i was so upset when this happen.. i think 2012 is USC's year!! FIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!

  • this was an epic moment in sports! and i was watchin this shit live!

  • the last non sec national champion

  • This still brings chills down my spine absolutely one of if not the greatest football games ever played! HOOK'EM can't wait to watch Jonathan Gray from Aledo in burnt orange next season!

  • @latinluigi Let's just hope that whoever is at QB can throw bullets!

  • if i wanted a playmaker, i would pick young. if i wanted a leader, i would pick tebow. if i wanted evrythimg, i would pick newton. and that is from a longhorn fan

  • Vince is a beast, but that was the worst job of containing ever three Trojan defenders literally left the lane wide open, and you expect VY not to capitalize?

  • only football game i watched from start to finish

  • @MrFootballforlife57 you're name is "MrFootballforlife" and you've watched one game from start to finish....? uh...?

  • Tebow, Newton, or Young? Which one would you choose? (In college not NFL)

  • @Blenderstruck2035 In college, Cam Newton.. in NFL, Cam Newton

  • @Blenderstruck2035 gotta be newton he single handely put Auburn on his back on the way to a national championship

  • @aadams334 And Vince didn't?

  • @theCHR1Sg no vince had a way better supporting cast and this is coming from an Auburn fan

  • if that wasnt a designed run, than Texas' line just broke down.

  • Best game ever. Oh yeah, I'm a Trojan too.

  • those were the good days i am not a texas fan but like them hope they get good next year !!!!!!!

  • I can honestly say I haven't watched a better college football game since this one.

  • the greatest game i have ever seen, usc will come back to be a dinasty starting next year!!

  • Everyone says LSU has an amazing secondary this year. Michael Griffin, Aaron Ross, and Michael Huff were first round picks; and Cedric and Marcus Griffin were also drafted. Easily the greatest secondary ever

  • @theCHR1Sg maybe you're right but lsu hasn't given up that much points this year!

  • Fuck everyone on here talking bad about Kieth Jackson (the first announcer). Man is a living legend.

Idiotic southerners don't understand what a true commentator is.

  • @thedynamic35 "Idiotic southerners don't understand what a true commentator is"...ever heard of Pat Summerall? The guy who lives in Texas? Thats pretty southern..

  • the first announcer used as much excitement as joe buck would have...he just won the national championship and he sounds liuke he is announcing golf

  • I'm definitely a USC fan and it was hard to see them lose. But yeah, that was one of the greatest football games of all-time.

  • "He's going to the corner...he's got it".

Really? I would have been yelling my fucking head off and screaming into that microphone.

  • @JaggedEdgeFJ You realize he's about 80 years old?

  • @JaggedEdgeFJ Why? It's Keith Jackson...he's seen it all. I doubt anything would surprise him.

Never done play by play before I can see. Can it.

  • vince young sucks ass now

  • That's what it's all about !!

  • Everybody in the entire stadium, at home, even the USC defense knew that Vince Young was going to keep the ball and go into the end zone! There was no reason to think SC's defense would stop Vince because they hadn't done it all game long, hence why Carroll decided to go for it on 4th down. You know you're good when the defense knows you're going to keep the ball and run and they STILL can't stop you!

  • thanks UT for beating what will never be forgotten as the most overrated over glorified bunch of assholes that ever played the game.

    2003- GEAUX TIGERS

    2004- you cheated

    2005 - TEXAS SHOWED YOU WHAT'S UP

  • GOOSEBUMPS.....

  • horrible gamble by usc. why zone blitz?? let the end do his job and he wouldn't have had to try and catch vince in space...

  • @aj71169 unless Dwight Freeney and Demarcus Ware were the DE's then I believe you're a little off base in thinking an end could slow VY

  • @gasperoutdoors i'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt. re-read my post, and if you still don't get it let me know.

  • @aj71169 I get it. I disagree. There wasn't an end in the nation that could keep Young contained.

  • @gasperoutdoors whether or not the end would have contained him isn't my point. in your example, if the colts and eagles were in this same situation, do you think the colts would drop freeney into coverage? and to your point, if the end couldn't contain him in the pocket, dropping him into coverage is a better option?? regardless as to whether it would have succeeded(because bad play calls can work), the decision was poor.

  • @aj71169 Oh ok I guess I don't understand your point then. If the end can't contain then that doesn't seem like the right option

  • what a crappy call by keith jackson. one of the all time greatest moments in college football history and that's all you got?

  • Omg!! Still get chills

  • I remember as this game went to halftime I couldn't help but feel like the game was 28-0 USC. Texas stopped LenDale White only once the entire game, but it was the one time they needed it. Still wonder how in the world Texas beat this USC team.

  • This play gives me the goosebumps watching it. Best play in BCS history

  • @rps2115 I respect ur opinion but come on he waltzed in easily. The best play in college history is either The Band or Flutie's Hail Mary

  • @GiveADogABohnel5 Sadly, that was the best play in college history against my canes, but that wasn't a BCS game. I meant this play was the best in a BCS bowl game. Sorry for the misunderstanding

  • 13th championship on the line

  • @blueson7227 I think you mean 3rd. This was Texas' 3rd national title.

  • @GentlemansCorner 1963, 1969, 1970, 2005. That's 4

  • I am a Michigan fan, but I can respect the man. He is 1 of the greatest CFB players EVER! 2 straight dominant Rose Bowl performances, and dare I say the best College QB of the last 15 years!

USC didn't beat themselves......Texas did, point blank, period!

  • @jejesdad Tim Tebow, Cam Newton and Vince Young 3 guys that will forever live in the brains of people that saw them play.

  • I was there with my brother and watched Vince do what he did all that year..WIN! BTW...we showed out in southern california. It was at least 50-50 our fans verses them. NOBODY travels like TEXAS! The look on the SC fans faces was priceless. A vendor was trying to sell SC champion shirts for a dollar after the game to Texas fans to quote "wipe our asses with" LOL

  • @TheChinkypoo

LMFAO, "vendor was trying to sell SC champion shirts for a dollar after the game to Texas fans to quote "wipe our asses with" LOL" THAT is priceless man, good shit. I got to go to the Nebraska game when we stunned their Heisman favorite and did the #5 team in the country at their place.

  • Comment removed

  • usc choked

  • "That's something I haven't heard in a while."

"What? 4th and 5, the national championship on the line?"

"No, the commentator saying 'Vince Young scores again.'"

  • this play always gives me goosebumps i remember watching this game and seeing that play amazing USC had no answer in stopping Vince Young he was amazing and proved Texas had the best team in the country in 2005 and a amazing D!!! This was the best BCS game in the last 10 yrs i was going crazy there when Young scored!!! Hook Em Horns take down the mighty Trojans and end there 389 game win streak:) Lee Corso was the only person on Gameday to pick Texas:)

  • @87HornsFootball88888

    38 games not 389

  • @87HornsFootball88888 34 games not 38 or 389

  • We won't give up on ya vince ! Keep a strong heart and a calm mind, god will take care of the rest. & show those boys how we play football down in Texas baby ! Hookem

  • just to prove to all the haters VY can still ball

  • I'll be honest, I'm not much of a football fan. But I for some reason watched the entire game and I was like WOW. Games like these would attract anyone, regardless of what sport you follow. It' was purely epic.

  • @innoutpandaexpress Especially watching vince makes you even I not a football fan mezmorized it was a great year in sports

  • Cam's better. War eagle

  • @vPoyZon GTFO look at VY's winning% compared to cam's

  • @TJPrimetime10 Cam was at auburn 1 year.. 100%. hasn't lost a game since high school until he got put on the worst team in the league

  • @vPoyZon vince young had know experiance with the eagles wat so ever and still won the game. cam newton had a 24-7 lead and still lost with 4 int. vince young can cary a team on his back in crunch time like he did in the national championship lol the 2005 texas longhorns would destroy the 2010 auburn tigers texas had the number 1 defence in the country that year. cam newton was getting sacked oregans defensive linemen that were as big as the texas safeties.

  • 85 Trojans apparently viewed this

  • I remember when i watched that game, it was a beast game

    Go longhorns!!!!!!!!!!!!!"!

  • Any smart College Football fan would know that the Game Of The Century is a #1 vs #2 Game during mid season. It doesn't count in the BCS Title game because thats post season. Plus this would not count as most famous, i believe the 71 Nebraska OU game was dubbed most famous.

  • @Encrylius Florida vs Florida State. I forget which year but FSU was #2 and Florida was #1 in the rivalry game. FSU won, but Florida came back and beat FSU in the national title game.

  • @Mrxander93 Holy shit that was a good game i guess i just caught up in the moment lol. That LSU Bama game was horrible. The only people that should get a rematch is the families of those short and tall kickers good god that was awful.

  • @Encrylius I heard that Bama missed 4 field goals...lol that is sad.

9-6 in any game except Lsu v. Bama would be called a bad game lol

  • @Mrxander93 that was the 1997 sugar bowl. Danny Weurfell? Fucking Gators.

  • @tripperthe lol

  • That's Texas football at it's best!!

  • #swag

  • Too bad he's a complete bust in the NFL

  • @usteeler81

You call him a complete bust with a 30-17 record? You must be from USC

  • @fishypets1 considering his accomplishments in the NCAA and his somewhat lack of in the NFL then yes he is

  • well.....he'll at least always have that to hang his hat on

  • tits

  • How the fuck is the upcoming game on saturday, between #1 LSU and #2 Alabama, dubbed the GAME OF THE CENTURY??? The 2006 National Championship between #1 USC and #2 Texas exceeds this upcoming game by a long shot. Who is famous on LSU? The 2006 national championship had 2 Heisman winners on one team and a virtually unstoppable quarterback on the other. Fuck that, this game right here, between USC and Texas is THE game of the century!!

  • @Devine071 This or the OSU Mich game in 06.

  • @Devine071 the real game of the century is actually Nebraska vs Oklahoma in 1971

  • @1098elway 2005 is a new century dumbass

  • @Devine071 USC had one Heisman winner on that team. :-D

  • @Crabitat No there were two. Matt Leinart who won it the year before, and Reggie Bush.

  • @Devine071 Nope. Check the Heisman website. No Reggie Bush, sorry.

  • @Crabitat Yeah, I know he gave it back, but AT THE TIME, there were two Heisman winners on that team.

  • @Devine071 Being in possession of stolen property does not make one its rightful owner, even for a little while. I think it's ridiculous that Bush gets all the blame when Carroll walks away clean. But facts are facts. Hook 'em! :-)

  • @Crabitat but reggie bush still won it

  • @Devine071 Michigan vs Ohio State was the game of the century, period.

  • @mr101AWESOME That game was a regular season game. USC vs. Texas was THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. I remember, this game had so much more hype than Michigan and OSU. The Michigan/Ohio State game drew 21.8 million viewers. The Texas/USC game drew 35.6 million viewers, the most for a college bowl game. So Michigan/OSU may have been dubbed the game of the century, but Texas/USC is the REAL game of the century.

  • @Devine071 Well, the game of the century so far. We're only 11 years into this century lol.

  • He should have won the Heisman that year!

  • The last non sec champion was texas

  • every time i see this.. i get the chills

  • He has a winning record as a starter in the NFL and has gone to the pro bowl. He will get back to his normal self...IF not then who gives AF cause he is one of the top 10 maybe top 5 college players of all time. And he is a legend here in Austin,Texas and will always be welcomed here. VY boy

  • 240p, we meet again

  • @VOLL2015 thats so original

  • The greatest fucking national championship game of all time! Lick My Cock if you think otherwise! HOOK'em Horns! I know we aren't that great this year but our young guys look promising David Ash and Case McCoy for starter next year will be difficult IMO....but we will be back to greatness with all our young guys guarantee it!

  • @latinluigi Lick your cock if someone happens to disagree with you? Wow. I do think it was a great game, though.

  • Vince Young, NFL douchebag.

  • @MrStones64 MrStones64, Youtube douchebag.

  • @tjackson76 lol you got that bitch!

  • @tjackson76 tjackson, nigger lover and lazy semi-pro level lover.

  • well thats a way to end your college dreams ru it in for the last play of his college game. Good Job Vince you will never be forgotten

  • It was all downhill for Mr. Young after this game....but he did get paid well.

  • @mweiford please explain. I disagree. 2002 Pete Dawkins Trophy 2005 Rose Bowl MVP 2005 Manning Award 2005 Maxwell Award 2005 Davey O'Brien Award 2005 Cingular All-America Player of the Year 2005 Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year 2005 Consensus First-Team All-American 2006 Rose Bowl MVP "4 weeks" 2006 NFL Rookie of the Week Awards 2006 NFL AP Offensive Rookie of the Year 2006 Diet Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year 2007 Pro Bowl 2008 Madden Football Cover 2008 The Farren Staten Award 2010 Pro Bowl
  • to bad he cant do shit in the nfl

  • the one play that scared me shitless, was a couple plays before VY's last touchdown, vince threw a pass and the usc corner or safety, batted the ball down but he could've clearly intercepted it.... i was like "ahhh noooo!"... and the commentators ignored it and jus looked at it like an imcomplete pass

  • i was in front of the dame tv like "lets go vince" i had a feelin he was scramble, i mean he always lol

  • Vince, come back to Texas. We DESPERATELY need you right now.

  • @Devine071 No we don't. Our team is young. When Vince started his first year he sucked worse than McCoy and Ash is doing atm

  • @SaveTheBestForU No he didn't. He was better than Ash and Mccoy. I'm not hating on Ash and Mccoy but come on. Watch Vince's debut game against New Mexico State. He did some pretty amazing things. Plus, Vince Young led the longhorns to the rose bowl as a SOPHOMORE, scored 4 touchdowns and was MVP. I know Ash and Mccoy have time to develop and that's fine. But one needs the starting position so he can feel comfortable and gain experience. This rotating thing is getting old. I'd choose Ash.

  • i got to watch it in Iraq, my moral was high after this game nothing could bring me down not even an rpg

  • @turky187 thank you for serving our country

  • Will never forget watching this game..i ran out into the street after this play vy was superman on the final drive

  • @ForgottenSage Considering their expectations...they are busts.

  • there goes my hero watch him as he goes <3 Vince Young

  • @longhorns13192 foooooooooooooo fightas!

  • but in all seriousness,I remember watching this game,I was in the 6th grade, really late at night,I remember Texas was down by like 2 TD's with like 5 minutes left,I cried myself to sleep and missed the epic comeback, next day I turned on Sportscenter and saw that Texas won 41-38,man I felt like an idiot,I missed one of the most epic plays ever

  • 81 people are Aggies,Sooners,and Trojans fans

  • Um has USC ever heard of the QB spy? Maybe they should've tried in on that play or someting

  • I think both QB's and of course Bush became busts in the NFL.

  • Keith Jackson is so good, he can calmly call this play and make it epic.

  • VY made it look soooooo easy!

  • Does anyone know where I can find the espn radio call for this play by Sean McDonough?

  • First of all u think ABC would let us here cussin on live tv No way he been fired....first Keith Jackson is far better then u be....

  • where is gus johnson when u need him

  • GREATEST MOMENT OF MY LIFE SO FAR!!! I WAS THERE!!!!

  • @baseballlovers100 The greatest moment of your life was someone else scoring a touchdown?

  • @mpbaker22 im only 13 dude. i score tds all the time. im a die hard texas fan

  • is the commentator fucking dead?

  • this was probablly one of the best sports game ive ever watched

  • Remember that special they had when Mark May, Kirk Herbstreit, and the rest of ESPN anointed USC the greatest team ever.......before the national championship was even played?

  • @broaddusmarines Wonder if that was the same year Kirk was whining because the '71 and '95 Huskers were the two finalists in their best team of all time matchups.

  • @gravens1 Texas doesn't play their players, unlike dirty SEC schools (every school in the SEC pays players to some degree) or USC.

  • @ztejas13 Sour grapes.

  • vince...young...scores!
