In a reactor, a MODERATOR is required NOT to slow down the reaction ( control rods of cadmium are used for that --- they absorb slow neutrons), but to slow down the fast neutrons, that way they can be absorbed by another U 235 nucleus, creating the very unstable U 236, which fissions. But there is no moderator in the bomb.
Hydrogen, fusion, or thermonuclear bombs are a total hoax. In 60 years, with advanced technology, energy-generating fusion has never been produced, and the bomb design is way, way too simplistic. @thisisabargain1 It was TOO convenient, with the timing. Yes, the atomic bomb just HAPPENED to be developed in the nick of time, a few weeks before the Soviet Union was scheduled to engage Japan. The bombings came within DAYS of the USSR's entry. Also, the footage of Hiroshima looks much more like it was carpet bombed ---- it looks no different than Tokyo, Rotterdam, or Dresden. The fission of U 235 requires slow neutrons, and a moderator to slow them down, like in a reactor.

Their development was initiated by a letter written by Einstein to Roosevelt in 1939 which outlined their capability. Jap nuke victims also had burns, melted skin, retinal damage & radiation sickness. The damage caused was not uniform. A fission weapon requires no moderator. The USAF films of the attacks show a single explosion.

The expression "with my own eyes" implies you were an eyewitness. As for the photos of Japanese being treated for severe burns ---- those burns could just as well have been the result of a firebombing. What happened to Hiroshima was a tragedy ---- but so was the firebombing of Tokyo, which did more damage.

@alpacks I doubt if this test was 914 kilotons in yield. Looks more like 91.4 kilotons. Actually, not even that big but it is a little hard to determine the exact scale. The largest French tests were done in the late 1960; this was done in 1970
