Having a lot of data AND keeping it safe is not cheap. you need 3 copies of everything. do not use a raid array mistakes will take the entire array out. use at least 2 different types of storage media. dvd, hard drive, flash, paper film and magnetic tape. dvd and hard drives are good cheap ways. date all media. rotate replacement. never let media age over 3 years. you can keep older copies, but dont consider them safe. to distribute cost replace 1 set of copies every year.

@jpm1316 You don't necessarily lose video quality by downloading the videos. You may need to specify the resolution that you need (720p, 1080p, 4k, etc.). Two applications I use are DownloadHelper for Mozilla Firefox and Miro for Linux, Windows, Mac and GNU. Both are capable of downloading videos in HD from YouTube and other video-sharing websites.
