  • I Love Ms. McCoo version of one of my Favorite Songs of Praise. With all Praise in Song I Give God All the Glory. And Thank Him for using me in His Service. "God Bless Y

    ou All".

  • Yes indeed; God's grace is truly amazing, for it is not just "unmerited favor" as we often say; but it is a POWER TO KEEP US from sinful life styles!!

  • Marilyn. McCoo. (Who can add anything to it?)

  • wiping my eyes

  • She could be Whitney's sister, same frame, features. Truly beautiful, but singing to a very beautiful Man...and to God be the glory!

  • I had the great pleasure of meeting this beautiful Lady (emphasis on that title) several years ago, and she is as gracious as she is beautiful and talented. May God bless her and her family, and this Nation!

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • indeed to god be the glory

  • indeed to gos be the glory

  • Triumphant ...

    Thanks again.

    ;0)

  • I love Marilyn McCoo's voice. It's truely a gift from God.

  • I don't know about you. I sing "We need a little Jesus, right this very minute". Read The Revelation. My opinion.

  • I used to listen to all the great music by the 5th Dimension on the radio years ago. I loved finding the beautiful Marilyn McCoo on YouTube, listening to all the oldies and learning of her (and Billy Davis, Jr.'s) faith in Christ! What an inspiration she is--she did a great job recording this song! Thanks for posting it!!!

  • yes beautiful expression of gratitude 30 yrs ago.. and even now i praise God. Thank you Lord for the music that touches the heart of every child of yours.

  • Excellent!

  • To God be the glory, indeed!!!

  • This woman has the best vocal range & clarity unchallenged !

  • does anyone have a mp3 version of this song??

  • I started singing this song in my heart after our election results here in America. To God be the glory for what he has done for America again. We have a second chance!!! I looked on you tube for the best version and this one made the mark. It is beautiful and sung by a very beautiful lady!! Thanks for downloading this video. Special place in my favorites!!!

  • Marylin has came a long ways since the Aquarius days

  • Thanks so much for having this posted im going through a tough time and it really give me hope!

  • God created polio, science cured it. God created small-pox, science cured it. God created leprosy, science cured it. God created 2 million illnesses, virusses, parasites, science found cures for many. God created infertility, science created in-vitro, and an estimated 15 million lives. 100.000 innocent children died a horrible death, beneath the rubble of their houses in Haiti. The allmighty didn``t lift a finger to help. Glory to god !!!

  • @lizazoon God wanted to give scientists something to acheive

  • @majorl31 God is very generous. First he creates the mosquitos, bugs, virusses that cause disease and then he counts on the painstaking work of scientists, for decades to conquer those diseases. How GENEROUS/!! Praise be to god !!!

  • @lizazoon Here is how I see it adversity is Gods way of filtering out whiners

  • @majorl31 ; God is just fiction; He is in charge of nothing, Eathquakes happen, draughts, floods, tsunamis, he is in control of nothing. It is totally useless to pray for anything, because he is not in control. All this singing about his greatnes is a waste of oxygen. Even houses of worship, need lightning-rods to protect believers from their god, while they are cow-towing before him/her.

  • @lizazoon you have many misconceptions concerning God,first of all we have free will you can obey GOD, reconcile with God and know the blessings of God in the midst of this mess on earth or you can reject God even call Him names and slander Him because He gives you free will to do so but your disobedience is not going to get you to know HIM,Christians have had to endure persecution from non believers because they choose to follow and obey God but Judgment will come for all of us

  • @majorl31 If you believe in an omniscient god, you can`t have free will. Once the outcome of your actions is known beforehand, there is no way, you can force another outcome. If you could, then god is no longer omniscient. I Know theologians will find a way around this, but that is what theology is all about:, to put a reasonable cloak on otherwise irrational propositions.

  • @lizazoon Are you going to keep it up with this until you find your self dead and for ever without GOD and no chance to ever find GOD again ?

  • @lizazoon It seems that many believe that a big pop in the universe created the trees, grass, humans, etc. We are supposed to be the evolved form of monkeys? Then why are their still monkeys? Or neandrathols such as this majorl31 cat? I pray to GOD everyday that I am not a descendant of anything such as that!! I'm also answered everyday!! I'm NOT. That 1 little pop in the universe did not create all these things we see here on earth. It also did not create my faith in HIM!!!

  • @tiredwornandweak You're an idiot.

  • @majorl31 You know, if you truly don't believe in GOD, then why are you on this page listening to a christian hymn? Give it some thought oh ye worshiper of bangs and monkeys!!

  • @tiredwornandweak I have no idea as to what you are referring to

  • Marilyn's voice gives me the chills whenever I hear her ..

  • The best female voice ever

  • Oh man!!! She took this gorgeous song and really ran with it!!! wow!!! Powerfully done!!! I love her voice!! What a gift!!

  • wow she is beautiful and this song is so pretty

  • So phenomenal. No one sings it as well as Marilyn. NO ONE.

  • Does anyone know when Andrae Crouch wrote this song?

  • @dfpalm In the 1970's.

  • What an amazing voice!!!

  • Chills and goosebumps!. This woman loves the LORD and delivers it in this performance. She is also very beautiful and poised #Takingnotes

  • wonderful!!!

  • The Holy City, the New Jerusalem, is the place the Bride of Christ will be for eternity.

  • One of the greatest songs ever sung for the glory of God. She is just an awesome witness of what God can do in ones life. Someday the Bride of Christ will be celebrating God's glory inside the New Jerusalem for eternity. (Rev. 21:9-10)

  • i love this song and this'll be my theme song for the rest of 2010 to remind me of the great things the Lord has done for me.

i just hope the audience realise that the person they should be clapping for is not her, but the Lord, for it is by His grace that she has this gift of singing.

  • there is no FAVORISM WITH GOD; and the "subjects of the kingdom shall be thrown out"

    please, kind sir, keep this

    in mind

  • @sparkle88ify

pure bullshit ! you state that with such thinly veiled relish . what if god doesnt appreciate

your fear and judgemental self righteousness ,

a little humility sir pompous !!

  • Jesus Thank You becaue you forgave me of my many sins!! Now I live my life to please You!

  • Why was slavery brought into this. It's a song of praise to the Lord. I don't remember hearing the word slavery mentioned.

  • My thoughts exactly...

  • Andrae Crouch wrote this beautiful song.

  • I'd marry this woman off her looks alone! lol I used to have a thing for Marilyn McCoo, Boy did I ever! Damn! The Jones Girls, Sheri Belafonte, Jayne Kennedy, and Tooty from the facts of life. Damn the ladies I love em'! LOL

  • After hearing her sing this song, I am moved to humbly say AMEN!

  • WOW!! This is the best version of this song I have ever seen and or heard!!

  • ditto and amen

  • Black people like miss mccoo were enslaved. They were beaten till their eyes bled and raped with a plunging force. Blacks were treated horribly. When they sing, they sound like songbirds ready to take flight

    Fly, you incredible lady.

  • are you aware of who wrote this song?

  • Jared Howe wrote it. He also wrote many songs for Elvis.

  • sorry Jared, this is an Andrae Crouch song, one of his tops

  • @faithsreview

    Andre' Crouch

  • I love the deep richness in her voice!! Thank the Lord for her gift!!!

  • What a voice! No matter what she sings, she sounds like she's flying.

  • If you have never seen an angel, you are going to see one with your own eyes in this video. God bless this lady.

  • I love this.

She gave a very humbled and soul stirring tribute

    to GOD.

    Thanks for sharing this.

  • To GOD be the glory, indeed!

  • she can really blow!! I love this song!! so majestic!!

  • WOW!!! A beautiful song, a beautiful voice, and a beautiful lady. How could there be anything bad to say about that!!!

  • Wow... she's very good. I could really feel the power of the song and that's not something that always happens you know? Two thumbs up!

  • I agree we live in a far different world now. To God be the glory. He never changes. Only us.

  • Such a beautiful tribute. It's amazing how things/times have changed in 20 some years. You would never see that this kind of song done on a prime time show now. Kind of a loss for all of us.

  • Wow! How did she get through that without crying! I'm a mess!

Thank You, Jesus, my Lord and Savior, for all You have done. To You, forever and ever, be the glory.

  • Perhaps one of the most tragic ironies of history - the African American embrace of Christianity; a type of mass Stockholm Syndrome:

"You may purchase slaves from the foreigners among you. You may purchase their children treating them as property, passing them on to your children as inheritance. " Leviticus 25:44-46

  • Nice try, but the christians replaced this with the rule "love thy neighbour as thyself". Did slavery happen? Yes. Was it wrong? Yes. Was it christian? No. Did people who called themselves Christians own slaves? Yes. Did Christians campaign and get changes to the law to end it? Yes. Love thy neighbour as thyself. It is a pretty cool rule.

  • Yeah nice try.

In ancient times, slavery existed in every part of the world. Slaves had no legal status or rights, and they were treated as the property of their owners. Even Plato and Aristotle looked upon slaves as inferior beings. As inhumane as such slavery was, we must keep in mind that on occasion it was an alternative to the massacre of enemy populations in wartime and the starvation of the poor during famine. It was to the people of this harsh age that the Bible was first written.

  • "Slaves had no legal status or rights, and they were treated as property ..."

    Indeed.

And here is your god's remedy:

"Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. " Ephesians 6:5

Just one more of the bible's catastrophic ethical failures.

The only ethical position on slavery is absolute unequivocal rejection of it.

Any tolerance of it can not be acceptable to anyone least of all Africans of the Diaspora

  • 9And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him.

  • Name at least one.

  • "You may purchase slaves from the foreigners among you. You may purchase their children treating them as property, passing them on to your children as inheritance. " Leviticus 25:44-46

  • Yes, but you must remember that that verse comes from the Old Testament. Many of the traditions and laws of back then no longer apply. Do people still sacrifice lambs and other burnt offering? Do people still stone others to death (not counting the countries in the Middle East)?

  • "Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. " Ephesians 6:5

  • This performance has made this one of my favorite worship songs now!

  • AWESOME! Perfect voice! Powerful and touching! This vid makes me cry. Thanks for the post.

  • amen marilyn - thank you

  • She did a fantastic tribute. God smiles...

  • she looks a bit like whitney houston

  • beautiful song

  • honest, i'd never heard her, it was beautiful, she doesn't have a high voice but as you said there is some warm in it. GBY!!

  • This is an awasome song its very moving with the words any idea who wrote this song ? the orginal artisit.... This song has blessed me...

  • Andrae Crouch wrote and performed this song.

  • @ronneal1 -Ever take out a loan or support a lending institution, your dealing with the a sin worth murdering over:"He lends money on interest and takes increase; will he live? He will not live! He has committed all these abominations, he will surely be put to death; his blood will be on his own head."

    ---- Ezekiel 18:13

  • She was underestimated in her singing ability, as she prooves here. And she was so beautiful!! Fantastic video!! Thank you.

  • You really think she was underestimated? She had a hugh career. I was still young in her hey-day but I remember how much people loved her singing

  • Awesome!

  • The girl sang this! I was wondering if she had the voice to handle it, but she pulled it off. I didn't know she could do it. I'm impressed.

  • Sorry to quibble, but she did way more than just "pull it off" here.

  • Try Sissel with the Oslo Gospel choir really amazing

  • Yeah... I've heard that version but think Sissel's voice is not as warm, rich and heartfelt as Marilyn's performance.

  • @mccoofan Sissel's way of singing s great...she put her emotions in that song..but anyway...mccoofan is a great singer too..

  • @mccoofan true. Sissel's voice sometimes hurts my ears.

  • Thanks so much for posting this. "My Tribute" is one of my favorite Gospel songs. I had never heard Marilyn McCoo sing it before, but she did it well and so glad she didn't do too much improvising. I like the songs when they're just sung like they were written. Glad she got a standing O for that one. If she hadn't, nuthin' ever would. I could really feel the Holy Spirit on this video all the way from the '80s and into the 21st Century!

  • Great singing w/ no nonsense melisma, the lady has pipes!

  • Marilyn, I have loved you since you sang Stoned Soul Picnic "to me" in 1969 while I was working construction in Australia. Today I needed a song to THANK GOD for two wonderful miracles He performed this very afternoon for my fiancee and me regarding a health crisis and finances. You gave us the song we needed to express our joy and thanksgiving. God bless you, Marilyn, and thank you mccoofan for posting Marilyn's awesome rendition of Andre's "Tribute."

  • It doesn't get any better than this!

  • Thank you mcoofan for sharing this breathtaking performance by the exquisite Marilyn McCoo.

  • WOW, wonderful. Thanks for posting.

  • very good

  • I go back to the 60's when Marilyn was with the Fifth Dimension and hve ALWAYS enjoyed this talented lady's voice and stage presence, whether singing solo, in a duet or with a group. But this STIRRING rendition of one of the most glorious Gospel songs ever written is Marilyn at her ABSOLUTE BEST!! Many, MANY THANKS for posting it on Youtube!! What an amazing, unpretentious singer!

  • What a voice. I like this better than the pop-Christian stuff she's done. But mccoofan: you have to find that "Who's Crying Now"--it's really the most sultry thing you'll hear Marilyn sing. I believe it was her first solo on Solid Gold.

  • Hi Branner... glad you like it. I agree that this is the kind of gospel Marilyn should record. "Warrior for the Lord" is similar , but not as full-throttle and dramatic. Wish I had the song you're looking for. Let's hope someone else posts it, or maybe VH1 will air SOLID GOLD reruns again. All my Marilyn clips are from made when I was a kid, so no way to go back and get anything new...
