  • Pardon me that I cant help if I have something to say to you. Know what? I am falling in love with you. You inspire me. wow.

  • Awesome story, thanks for sharing and sorry to hear about your hand! That is why i want to be out in the community so I can meet new people and interpreting for different things. Also, for the stories and experiences! I cant wait! although i must say, I hope something like that never happens to me, i wouldn't react as calmly :)

  • hmm. my left ear just became deaf. help?

  • HappyHands, did you sign T-O-M-B-O-Y ? that is filipino word for lesbian. Haha... I didn't know that ASL got that word. btw, another funny story. hehehe I now know that your an interpreter. :D

  • Wow, such a freak... but pretty cool too. Love the story and love how you tell it. :)

  • XD wow! interesting story!!! -hands in air and shaking-

    share more!!! XD

  • *Hands up shaking*

  • hey if you want a fun interpreting job you should try for the Minnesota Conservation Corps, Summer Youth Program... Im not an interpreter but many of the interpreters I worked with said they had some of the best and most challenging interpreting experiences of their life. Its more than just interpreting though, its also living in the woods and leading a group of youth anyways just thought I would throw that out there

  • That is THE perfect job for me! WOW! Too bad I am a NC girl... thanks anyway, though :)

  • Sorry to be butting in, but you live in NC? It's a very small world then. XD

  • yep... Raleigh, NC... and you?

  • Harnett County

  • well im not deaf i can hear perfectly but please type the story in the discription!

  • there is a captioned version of the same story....

  • @garyroxatlife1023

Now you know how we feel when we want to see the video news story but no caption! Why not same here for you - so we have equal treatment then until AKK videos are finally captioned!

  • Wow now there is a true interpreting horror story, Yikes! LOL

  • yaa i bet a student felt bad about it . :(

  • wow that's so dangerous! so wat did the student say after that?

  • student felt so bad about it but I knew they didn't do it on purpose... I did pick on them about it later though!

  • I really don't know much asl at all but by the end I knew you somehow found yourself in a welding situation and got a scar, so that's something, eh? It even looked painful lol! YIKES!

  • Interpreting - It's dangerous.

I keep tellin' ppl this but they neer seem to believe me. Your story is PROOF!

  • thats funny but really, they didnt give you...ANYTHING to put on your hands, seems kinda dangerous, little winter gloves that really dont do anything? nothing...?

ive been burnt once though, something imploded on the metal i was working on and a chunk of burning metal flew ontop of my head, it sucked lol

PS: im not deaf so no interpreter was harmed in the previous story =)

  • LOL!!! Too funny! No, I mean, I could have went and got some TIG gloves, they are thin and small, but I never did since what are the chances, huh? :P

  • Ahh man!!I totally wish I knew how to sign like that...!!!

I just don't know where to start... The movements of sign are so graceful, I just want to be apart of the silent language. =]

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So that very funny, oh, my GOD! Make me little laughing because you was saying about welding with his student LOL

Also, I am deaf too :)

  • did they not give you welding gloves/gear too?

  • you can't interpret with welding gloves on, man! :D (they gave me the jacket and helmet) I didn't wear the gloves since not welding, but got other gear since around it.

  • What are you doing atleat on your comment thing tell us a breif story mann GOT!

  • Have other version of this exact vlog with full captioning.

  • are the face intonations that much used?

  • are you asking if facial expressions are a crucial part of American Sign Language as a language itself? If so, yes.

  • Ahh ok ^^, whell i think they use it here.

But i think i depents on the sighn ''talker'' i guess?

  • Very much so.. just as vocal intonations convey a meaning, intent, emphasis, etc... the same plays over to facial expressions in a VISUAL language. Just as a "talker" can be louder or more expressive, the "signer" can be 'louder' or more expressive in the same manner.

  • p.s. --- I'm a pretty 'loud' signer... :)

  • Mmm! Gmmm-mmmgmmm! Mmm-gmmm-mmgm-mmgmmm-gmmm.

  • Even though I don't sign, I am still very entertained by this video. You seem very funny.

  • uh huh - I have the same love for MY 'scars' too... (but I do not go out of my way to obtain them of course - I got a cool 24 stitches on my ankle when I broke it - I loved it LOL) so I can understand where you are coming from.

Scars tell a story - so do a scene from the Lethal weapon 3 one day huh! :D :D :D

  • YOU ARE SO FUNNY!!!

  • funny story....glad your ok.

  • lol! dang! I'm glad that you didnt lose your hand!!!
