A large proportion of videos here on YouTube are out of sync with the audio. I don't know why, but I'm surprised the whiney complainers out here have not figured this out yet. As someone pointed out, the artists aren't uploading fake videos just to irritate you.
The drums and the bass don't fit, Ray brown is very ahead in the beat while the drummer plays more behind in the beat, not very swinging all and all... The rest of the band also have tendency to play more lazy in the beat. Stubburn Ray, he knows better...
@premiumjunkie There are differnt feelings in Jazz about how long a bss note will take to travel to the front. And Milt prefers to wait just a little bit.
This looks like it was a special-guest encore at an MJQ concert.
It's Milt Jackson - vibes, John Lewis on piano, Ray Brown playing Percy Heath's bass, and -- who on Connie Kay's famous gold-plated drum set? When? Where?
Brings back a lot of memories of the MJQ. Probably my intro in my youth to modern jazz..I have been following jazz for over 60 years and it is still one of my favourite groups to listen to on CD and vinyl
This is no fake, I saw them live 3 times in the 80s and they were every bit as good as the video here if not better!! They were the original cool dudes of the day
@nmvdvjr jazz musicians doesnt do such things like what u thinking..they made their names popular because of the talent they have and these group are "REAL " jazz musicians
@nmvdvjr Why do people on youtube ALWAYS think everything is fake?!? Why should a jazz legend like Milt Jackson do a fake concert or the person who uploads this fake the video?? It makes no sense to me! :D
Fresh everytime, elegant, distinguished (and that's just the suit) with John Lewis, Mr.Economy in contrast to Milt, and swinging like hell - every time.

This is fake. You can clearly see he's playng along with a soundsystem, and doing it poorly.
