Dont we also need to learn to forgive ourselves sometimes, in the light that we also are to forgive one another. Not that we are redeeming ourselves as God does, but are forgiving as we are instructed by Christ in Matt. 18. I understand and agree with his point, but also have seen in my own life that sometimes the first step to healing is to forgive myself and admit that failure is not who I am, but just something I do from time to time, as we all do.

People who are confident in their belief systems don't care what others think.
Your fear that your system might be wrong is what causes your defensive rhetoric.

If we live in a good way - we will have good lives.
That is a good philosophy and way to approach life.
Nothing wrong with believing in God - but nothing wrong with having other beliefs either.
