The old insitiutions were the best shot the current generation could make at government, given what they knew. A new awareness has taken hold. It is revolutionary, and it will require one.

The First Amendment enumerates the rights that people have that are purported to give the people ultimate power over the government without actually securing those rights. "...or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or of the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." It is obvious that these rights are not secured, because the NYPD is not allowing people peacefully to assemble or to petition for redress of grievances.
