To be honest, I like the '85 solo one better. This one makes it kinda 'epic', which is not what this song is about. The '85 one is more minimalistic, but with all the same energy.

Songs can be transformed and mean different things, music is not a set concept. I think both versions are "right", because the minimalistic (deep in heart) ultimately gains the wider perspective (epic)

When Freddie sings, "Giving it all my soul" the lyrics mean SO much because he really did...it just hits you so hard. To me, Elvis, Freddie, and Karen Carpenter were in the same league...no bullshit, all heart.
