  • 359? someone needs to reassess their lifestyle.... Bowl of Sugar for lunch.... Chocolate bars for dinner, washed down with 3 cans of coke...

  • it's a wrong method, if you use alcohol swap before testing wait it it dray other wise it will show you high reading

and don't press your finger once it prick it will also affect your reading

  • coz the first blood may contain contaminants that could alter the result....

  • I just wanna ask why is it..that the first drop of blood will be wiped away?

  • @WENNAturalselection the skin cells sometimes interfere with the test, so wiping it away gives a better, cleaner test

  • I think non-diabetics should use a glucose monitor as well. The only difference would be the frequency of the periodic glucose checkups.

  • Informative. I never knew the first drop of blood was to be wiped off and to gently squeeze skin for a new droplet of blood. ALSO, I was told to let the alcohol dry before getting sample yet she wiped and poked. Any one have any input on this?

  • Im learning this so does the 359 means that person has hyperglymia??? HELP

  • @1stAidMEDIC yes the person has hyperglycemia. the normal range is 80 to 110..as far as i know...

  • 359 is definitely not great, but pretty typical for a diabetic (type 1 esp) after eating a large, unhealthy meal and before insulin. When my father was diagnosed his blood sugar was 790! It was amazing he hadn't hit a coma yet...

  • thanks for the vid :)

  • thanks for the video.. it helped me a lot...

  • Excellent vid. Thanks. :)

  • Blood glucose 359? Even for a diabetic, that waaaaaay up there.

  • @enigma800 BSG really depends on the patient.. there are ones who have BSG of >400 and they still appear normal.. But of course they needed intervention.

  • 70 mg/dl (milligrams per deciliter) and 100 mg/dl is normal

    100 mg/dl and 125 mg/dl, you're considered to have pre-diabetes.

If your blood glucose levels are above 125 mg/dl, doctors usually diagnose diabetes.

  • PS: nurse Katie has nice hair :p

  • Very helpful video. :) I'm just concerned because I'm pretty sure you have to swab the finger just once, from inside then out (based on the aseptic technique). And aren't you supposed to use a new cotton ball to wipe off the blood instead of the used one??? :o

  • 359 WTf

  • @superme010 200 to 400 is normal.
