The political involvement and resulting moral outrage of the youth of America during the 60s was a very interesting phenomena to be a part of and live through, but like every other thing that my generation touched – it was little more than a passing fad for most of them. The vast majority of the boomers are complete conformists now – more locked into (and fully invested in) the system than their parents ever were.
Thanks Cal. The copyrighted material for the reason of the disabling is the song "Ohio" by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. I received an e-mail a few years ago from Neil Young's record label/you tube saying that they were disabling the video. This action is totally ironic as Neil Young, the guy who sings songs "against the man", has now become "the man". - cengeset

Bush commented on the anti war protesters that greeted him on a state visit to the UK, "We have that in our country also....And now thanks to us they have them in Iraq!"
But people still die, and protests are fewer, and the evil that we have allowed to fester and rule our countries still persists and commits atrocities in our names.

"the indiscriminate firing of rifles into a crowd of students and the deaths that followed were unnecessary, unwarranted, and inexcusable." - The President's Commission on Campus Unrest
@1STACCS So well that all establishments of higher education started to strike and the president nearly wet himself as the academic future of the country was in serious trouble......the whole incident proved that there is no freedom of choice, speach or expression!!!!
@rabthebowl Expressing freedom of choice by destroying property and threatening lives of people uncontrollably is not the way to go. If were were invaded by some foreign government, OK, then it is OK, but to destroy your own campus, try to kill your police and riot in the city, that is not OK.
The Guard did a good job. Had they not, that riot would have spread into the city, homes would have been burned and people would have been killed. Utilitarian Ethics are at play here.
@1STACCS As far as I am aware there was no such situation and the presidents commission even condemned it. Dont get me wrong I am with you if it comes to anarchy but in this case, are children really that much of a threat that they should be killed for disagreeing? Apart from students, who else was killed???
@1STACCS They actually believed what the were doing was right in the face of My Lai, the invasion of Cambodia and the Draft. Two of those shot and killed were nothing to do with the protest and all were aproximately 100 metres away but there were closer protestors. Two were 19 and two were 20 years old, the incident was just plain wrong.
Documantary without sound.

I think WMG just wants to silence the truth.

Someone should sue WMG for silencing the voice on this. It's not THEIR voice!

This is what happens when an angry mob threatens a small group of armed men. See Boston Massacre.

Define "threatens". With fists? Words? Ideas?

try stones and firebombs
hughmanatee111 4 years ago
According to Wikipedia, I couldn't find any account of firebombs, just stones and teargas were thrown (back) at the soldiers.

of children????? how many of your kids did you shoot in the head for having an opinion??
rabthebowl 4 years ago
How many kids should be burning down a campus and spreading riots into the city? The Guard did their job and did it well.

@rabthebowl Those weren't children. They were grown adults. They knew what they were doing was wrong, why do you think the wanted to riot?
