Islam is all about quran and hadith, but i do not think there is no importance of batin, or inner correction or cleanliness, in fact in my humble opinion islam is more about inner cleanliness then just the cleanliness of outer self, the ways, and actions of cleaning ones inner self is all about tasawuf. someone may disregard the label of tasawuf itself, which to me is irrelevant but saying outrightly that people of tasawuf are wrong is over generalization. having said that i agree to most of it.

Narrated by Aisha (raa) I missed Allah's Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) during the night and found him in al-Baqi'. He (the Prophet) said: Verily Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, comes down to the heaven of the world in "the middle night of Sha'ban" and forgives sins even more abundant than the hair of the goats of Kalb.
