  • iam wondering how many horse it takes to run a round baler we have a 4020 and wondering how big a baler it could handle

  • @uberbadnoob6699666 Your 4020 would handle this baler no problem.

  • @kansasa1 oh ok thanks is a 656 a spendy baler?

  • @uberbadnoob6699666 The bigger the bales the bigger equipment you need to handle them so the cost can add up quickly.

  • what a heap of $#!&

  • @nickyb0983 Funny how most people who make comments like this have no videos of their own... guess it takes all kinds. :)

  • good thing the kick bar works..

  • Which country is this?

  • Canada

  • wish i had a wide pickup on mine the standerd one its pittyfull

  • wo thats wierd we just got our a new bialer on our farm today and it the same exact bialer as that one lol

  • You know, as long as we're on the subject of hay, here's a "homework" project for any farmer reading this...Bring a video camera along with you on your tractor. If by any chance you haapen to accidently bale up a small animal, or in my case, a week-old deer, how long does it take you to unclog your machine?

  • Oh that doesn't sound like fun at all!

  • yea my bossman got one with the combine in oats last night didnt see it till it was to late

  • @Gordon302 i'd be willing to guess about as long as it takes to fix the baler after baling up a tree stump

  • Where was this taken? it beautiful country.

    Near Colorado? Ozarks??

  • Hi stratman250, the video was shot on Highway 12 between Lillooet and Lytton BC Canada.

  • of course it needs hydraulics!!

  • does that baler need any hydrolics ? , or just PTO

  • It needs hydraulics to raise and lower the pickup and also for the end gate to release the bale. It needs PTO for the rest, that's what keeps everything turning to make the bale.

  • Think you need a new tractor dude!

  • Naaaaah, those JD's last forever :)

  • No ROPS, No Cab, 1990's"<-" Era.... call me scepticle. But anyways i like the baler. We start very shortly, and will have a baler by next week ready to go, John Deere ofcourse.

  • Sure nothing fancy but it works :) I'm guessing the thing is probably older than the '90's but can't be sure until I ask my husband.

You must be on the other side of the world, we're pretty much done here, almost all the pipes (sprinklers) are put away until next year.

  • Fair enough then, yeah we are, Australia, havnt even done our first cut yet. But am looking forward to silly season.

  • we gotta 74 2440 and no cab, and it has barely and rust on it, and we have to let it sit out in the elements, they DO last forever, and thats no joke

  • yeah how mcuh does all your hay equipment cost

  • u guys are retarded..im sure they knew they had a bale kicker, im sure they didnt read that and be like...i wondered what that deal was.

  • whats that balers model name

  • The model number is 535.

  • we have a 1990 535 baler, i really like it,but i wish i had it in the shed, right now it's underneath a mullberry tree with a big snow drift in front of it

  • guess im spoiled i bale in a 7410 john deer tractor with a cab its so much nicer then that deet

  • its like... SURPRISE!! :D

  • Never thought of it that way but you're right, yeah it is! lol

  • I can smell that hay now.....!

  • And it does have a distinctive smell doesn't it?

  • you need to fix your bale kicker so you wont have to back up to eject to bale

  • Backing up is to place the bales so there's no chance of them rolling away. Thanks for the comment :)

  • there's baler kicker on your baler i can show you how to hook it up the kicker is supposed to have chain ran from the tell gate to the kicker but your chains are missing but your kicker arm is still there i can see it in the video it the peiece that hangs down when your tailgate is lifted the kicker pushes them away from the baler when you open tail gate i just sold my 535 john deere baler

  • we've got a similar JD baler, but we've been having problems with it blocking up in the pickup reel. any ideas why?

  • Could be the hay is too wet or you are going too fast. Do you have a manual? There are suggestions in there... Also your bale density may be too high, check that.

  • the hay is plenty dry enough to be baled, and we've tried every combination of speed and PTO revs imaginable. its quite frustrating! we dont have a manual because we bought it 2nd hand but thanks anyway.

  • Is it short grass or alfalfa you're cutting? If it's too short it will pick it up but it won't start rolling and it will jam up.

  • your roller drum in the bottom may be work and weld a pieces of thin rod to it it helps get the bale spinning

  • nice bale,i just bought jd 545 hope it goes as well

  • It seems like my Husband is always working on the balers but they work most of the time :) This is our newest one, you should see the old one work... quite the "loose" bales with that one!
