I was at this show as part of the Big Country fan club. My Dad who had taken me there said he would "find something to do" until the gig was over. Afterwards he revealed that the bouncers had taken pity on him and allowed him to go up to the VIP area in the balcony to watch the whole show. I remember him saying how impressed he was by Big Country and how much he enjoyed it.
My Dad is no longer with me and neither is Stuart.
Life is cruel but I thank them both for what they gave me.
Benjamin Disraeli once said "despair is the conclusion of fools" -- no offense to Stu, but to anyone else who ever contemplates suicide, remember what this ambitious, motivated, successful British Prime Minister thought on the subject, and remind yourself that you're being foolish, that there's always some action to take, happiness to regain, & also, people who love and need you - since you don't get a second chance, play out your life with dedication & see where you can take it -
we're all thinking in Stu , yes, while seeing this, even if he did'nt know his place above the stars, We had it already READY for him, for those GOOD and gifts he brought, his place is now up upon the stars, and some place, but also in our hearts he has a return ticket forever, he will always be with us, u never understood how much u brought to us, fellow = D
These guys are way cool. Feel that energy all delivered so effortlessly. This is real talent and real craftsmanship. Unsurpassed brilliance. Superb, timeless and always totally uplifting. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I saw big country over 50 times and remember this song ,heard it live first and thought it was going to be massive but it wasent that good on the album. That was the thing about big country ,live they where superb ,best in the world by far but the production on some albums wasent that good ,producers didnt understand what big country was about.
And also to Groningen, The Netherlands. I have visited many concerts in my life (U2, Simple Minds, etc), but the performance of Big Country was by far the best concert I have ever seen!!!!

Another excellent video. I remember this concert very well. I was and still am a huge fan. Got most if not all they have ever done, seen them about twenty times, been to two fan club conventions and got all four members of the bands autographs about three times. I watched this video alot until the mid ninties when my mother accidentlt tapped over it with delia smith !!!! I was not a happy bunny, greta to see it again though. Would love the whole concert on video or dvd.
Jeez. I haven't heard this since I was like 16 or something. It take me back to my first Big Country concerts. Superb. Just the greatest band ever. Cheers...

Nice one xxAlbionxx. This a fantastic trip down memory lane, if a little sad for the loss of a wonderful musician in Stuart Adamson

I wonder if U2 would ever do a cover of a Big Country song. Would be interesting to see their spin on In a Big Country or Fields of Fire.
