Whats up guys. Can anyone tell me why Ducati went with a dry clutch? It's a very beautiful Motorcycle, but when your not on the clutch it would scare you into thinking something is wrong with the bike until you remember it's just the sound of the clutch. Any advantages to having a dry clutch, or is it simply Ducati being different? Beautiful Bike, I actually want one. A Fila 999 or 848 Evo, Eventhough I'll have a 2011 Kawasaki ZX-10 in my Garage 1st. LOL!!!

dry clutch can take more power before it starts to slip.

A dry clutch is aircooled so the oil doesnt get hot thanks to the clutch,important during races.

The 848 hasnt got a dry clutch ! ;)

And its Saiyan..not sayin

@TheBayliss155 Thanks for the info on the Dry Clutch, it seems to have it's advantages which makes the annoying sound less of a problem. I didn't know the 848 didn't have one, but thats cool as well. As for the Spelling lesson, I know how it's spelled, i put that screen name years ago, without realizing or cheaking if i spelled it wrong. But it's something I can live with without a problem.

I like the 999R over the 1098 and 1198, I think the new Duke, while trying to improve the 996 design, looks wayyy too much like an R1. The 999R is unique in looks, no mistaking those two head lights.

This IS my bike... along with a Honda VTX1800C, and a Yamaha WR450F. I have owned a Yamaha R6 and R1 in the past.

It's easy, you just unscrew the clutch cover and slide the new one in and then replace the cover. The cover, plate, and springs are for sale right now. Contact me if interested.
