hey i got a French Angel too, ive had him for about 2 years now and hes 8.5 inch sub-adult he's gorgeous his yellow line nearest to his end is almost faded, i hope he ends out like yours, yours is fricken amazing!
"forthefishes" ought to realize that there will always be disreputable practitioners in any commercial venture. Good hobbyists and good aquarium stores want their passion for fish-keeping to be a sustaining one, and that's why there are associations that monitor where and how fish are collected. Those who collect via cyanide or other destructive means are weeded out. Hobbyists oftentimes are the best and loudest advocates for conservation.
I live in Hawaii and snorkel daily, so I have seen the destruction caused by aquarium collectors with my own eyes. Check out forthefishesdotorg, not my site, but shows that many people want to stop fish collecting. In fact we are hoping that new legislation will put an end to this horrible practice. I've seen fish collectors literally break live coral to get at hidden fish. Here we have some fish collected to near extinction, all gone and never able to replenish themselves.
for some reason to me saltwater hav elots of color but they bore me and are too much work unlike freshwater that u cna have frogs, sharks differnt kinds of eels and stuff. idk i just like freshwater like the oscar.
pretty sweet tank...What kind of filtration are you using...im going to be purchasing a 300 gallon tank soon, and setting it up as a reef tank...I have about 4-6 grand i can spend on filtration and lights do you have any recommendations.
everything was added at once, moved from another tank except the French who came a year later and has easily became the boss. I would still like to add a Vlamingi tang and Emperor Angel
Nice looking fish. I just ordered a Maculosus Angel and I was thinking of adding a Queen or Passer Angel later on down the road, I know they are agressive but I was going to make sure there was a size difference, what do you think, should I pass on this idea?
hey how long have you had your french angel? i also want one too, do you think it will fit in with a emperator angel?also what do you feed him?GO CUBS!!!!!!!!!
I have had the french for 2 years. If the sizes are very different you should be fine with the EMP. I feed him a large mix of foods dry, frozen, nori sheets. This could be the year for the CUBS!
very nice tank. well done for the work you have put in. I'm a reefie to and would like to share a video of my tank with others. see it on here at: "marek's reef aquarium" :-)))
Nice tank! seeing your angelfish in it makes me realize why people say you need a several hundred gallon aquarium to keep one. He is so huge he almost makes your 300 gallons look small!
o man this is sweet!!!

Not cool. Coral reefs around the world are being destroyed by fish collecting for aquariums!

If you have plenty of room you could try it.
Most people would prolly say don't do it

Thanks. I did not have the time for managing a reef/coral tank so this FOWLR has been much more easy to manage.
