Not very likely to be sick. Bats can't take off like birds. In order to fly, they need to open their wings while dropping, so they need to climb up to a spot to drop from.

I had a wee Pipistrelle in recently. He was dehydrated, we fed him up and released back where he was found. Delightful little beast!
